C15 What Should I Do?
Chu Tianyi remained silent for an extended period, lost in contemplation. He was at a loss for what to do next, unable to rein in his racing thoughts, which had led to the current predicament.
"What's the matter with you, Chu Tianyi? Why are you so quiet? Do you think I'm just playing a joke on you?" Lin Feng asked, his voice tinged with sorrow.
He believed Chu Tianyi would understand the reason behind his words, the only thing he felt he could clearly articulate at the moment.
"It's not that I haven't said anything; I just don't know what to do. Have you truly lost your memory, or are you playing a prank on me?" Chu Tianyi inquired once more.
He needed a clear answer to move forward with the situation and to understand the full scope of what was happening. This clarity was what he most eagerly awaited.
"I'm speaking nothing but the truth," Lin Feng assured him, his head bowed. "I can guarantee that every word I've told you is sincere, with no hidden meanings. There's nothing more to discuss. I am indeed suffering from some memory loss, and right now, I can't even control myself. Do you understand?"
"Do you know who I am?" Chu Tianyi asked, looking at Lin Feng with a puzzled expression. He hoped that this question would help Lin Feng grasp his current state of mind, the only thing he felt he could explain at this point.
"To be honest, I had no idea who you were last night. It wasn't until this morning that I found out," Lin Feng confessed with an embarrassed smile.
Chu Tianyi then accepted Lin Feng's words as truth and proceeded to recount numerous amusing anecdotes from their past. As Lin Feng listened to the tales of his previous experiences, he was overwhelmed with emotion, grateful for his revival and newfound strength. Otherwise, he might have been expelled by the Chu family upon awakening.
Tears welled up in Lin Feng's eyes, and he realized just how difficult it had been for his former self to survive until now. He doubted he would have made it this far, wondering how he could possibly continue to exist.
Seeing Lin Feng's tears, Chu Tianyi chose to remain silent. After all, Lin Feng's tears suggested that he still harbored some recollections of their shared history. Chu Tianyi was convinced that Lin Feng had indeed lost his memories.
"Chu Tianyi, can you promise not to tell a soul about this? I don't want them to see me as worthless. I hope they'll realize that I've fully recovered and am back to normal, okay?" Lin Feng looked at Chu Tianyi with a pleading gaze.
He was eager for Chu Tianyi to explain the situation after hearing his plea and wished to handle the matter even better, avoiding any further issues.
Upon hearing Lin Feng's request, Chu Tianyi readily nodded in agreement. This was precisely the matter he was most eager to understand at the moment. Only by discussing it could he plan his next steps.
"Rest assured, I won't breathe a word of it to anyone. I know you trust me deeply, and as your brother, it would be beneath me to gossip. This secret will stay buried deep within us, known only to you and me."
After speaking, Chu Tianyi fell silent. As he was about to ask Lin Feng more questions, Chu Wenn suddenly appeared outside the door. Catching a glimpse of a shadow flitting by, Lin Feng clammed up, and Chu Tianyi quickly shut his mouth.
"Did you see that shadow by the door?" Lin Feng asked cautiously.
Chu Tianyi nodded, both of them now thoroughly startled, unsure of the identity of the person outside.
Then, a knock sounded at the door. Without hesitation, Lin Feng opened it, only to find Chu Wenn entering his room, which intensified his fear.
If Chu Wenn learned about his amnesia, it would be incredibly difficult for Lin Feng to regain his standing, and he certainly couldn't expect Chu Wenn to help conceal his lost first kiss.
"What brings you here, Chu Wenn? You've been waiting outside without a word. What's the meaning of this? Do you think we're all scared of you?" Lin Feng asked, visibly upset.
He thought Chu Wenn's actions were excessive. But Chu Wenn just smiled in response, having only just arrived and not understanding Lin Feng's outburst.
"I really can't grasp what you're trying to say. I've only been here a short while, and the room I entered is nothing like you described. I don't have any ulterior motives. Don't you think your actions were somewhat excessive?" Chu Wenn fell silent after speaking. It became apparent to Lin Feng that Chu Wenn hadn't grasped the situation, and he was well aware that Chu Wenn hadn't heard the conversation he had with Chu Tianyi earlier.
"What brings you to me today? After the beating I gave you yesterday, it's impressive how quickly you've bounced back. Did you use a lot of your spiritual energy to recover?" Lin Feng couldn't contain his laughter as he spoke.
He couldn't resist mocking Chu Wenn, who had been the first to doubt him the day before and had caused him to lose face in front of many others. Lin Feng's words deeply infuriated Chu Wenn.
"What are you trying to achieve, exactly? How could you have the audacity to treat me like that yesterday? Don't you think you've gone too far?" Chu Wenn demanded, his face contorted with anger.
