C22 What Do You Want to Do?!
"Freeze, Lin Feng! You must think you can turn the world on its head. Just try coming any closer to me," Chu Feng bellowed, convinced that his status within the Chu family made him untouchable.
Yet, Lin Feng never paid much heed to such threats. He was acutely aware that unless he put Chu Feng in his place this time, the man might never grasp the extent of Lin Feng's strength.
Hearing the anguish in Chu Feng's voice, Lin Feng found himself reluctant to take any further action. He understood the implications of an elder like Chu Feng launching another assault on the main peak—it wouldn't look good, and others might blame him. So, Lin Feng stood silently aside, offering no response, unwilling to provoke further conflict.
Initially, Chu Feng had been terrified of Lin Feng. The words he had screamed in desperation had drained all his strength. Yet, to his astonishment, Lin Feng now seemed hesitant to make a move. This revelation shocked Chu Feng to the core, stirring a defiant spirit within him.
Gradually, Chu Feng picked himself up off the ground and began to inch toward Lin Feng. Observing this, Lin Feng realized Chu Feng was determined to confront him today. He had anticipated this, yet he harbored no fear. To Lin Feng, Chu Feng's approach was an expected turn of events.
"Old man, I suggest you take a good rest," Lin Feng advised. "You're well aware of how you were treated earlier. Why not lie down and recuperate? There won't be any issues. You're trying to stand and resist without even resting first—do you truly think that's wise?"
Chu Tianyi, who had been silent earlier for fear of inadvertently provoking Chu Feng, now chuckled without a trace of fear. He had a clear understanding of Chu Feng's character.
Chu Feng, on the other hand, seethed with rage upon hearing Chu Tianyi's words. Moments before, Chu Feng had been too intimidated to retaliate, but now, in a matter of minutes, Chu Tianyi had boldly shifted his stance, which infuriated Chu Feng even more.
"Kid, shut it. Remember how scared you were of me just a moment ago? I don't think you've forgotten. Just because you've got Lin Feng backing you up doesn't mean I won't take action against you. I've always been known for my ruthlessness. Cross me today, and rest assured, I'll find a way to settle the score with you in the future," Chu Feng said, glaring at Chu Tianyi with a menacing look.
Chu Tianyi's tone had irked him earlier, but Chu Tianyi simply brushed it off with a smile. He was confident that Lin Feng would defeat Chu Feng, and after that, Chu Feng wouldn't dare to lay a finger on him again. Chu Tianyi was certain of this.
"You've been bested by my brothers today. I'm sure you won't have the guts to mess with me again. Don't be an old fool who can't accept defeat. You should realize that the younger generation is much stronger than you could ever imagine," Chu Tianyi said bluntly.
At that point, Lin Feng intervened, urging Chu Tianyi to hold his tongue. He was concerned that Chu Tianyi might inadvertently provoke Chu Feng further, and he wouldn't always be around to protect him. That would be the moment Chu Tianyi would regret his actions, so Lin Feng preferred to remain silent.
Yet, Chu Tianyi felt a twinge of discomfort, an unexpected turn of events he hadn't anticipated.
"Would you just stop talking, Chu Tianyi? Be careful with your words in the future. If you say something you shouldn't, I can't predict how others might react. Got it?" Lin Feng whispered to Chu Tianyi, his voice laced with concern.
He hoped that Chu Tianyi would grasp the seriousness of his advice and refrain from any further rash actions. After all, no one could foresee the consequences that might unfold.
Understanding the implications of Lin Feng's words, Chu Tianyi knew exactly what Lin Feng meant and chose to remain silent.
"Chu Feng, I'm not warning you out of spite. I respect your status as an elder and prefer not to get entangled with you. But I do hope you understand where you stand and what I'm saying to you right now," Chu Tianyi conveyed, hoping to make his position crystal clear.
"If you take my advice, I hope you'll back off right now and stop coming around me. I don't see any good coming from your presence. Got it?" Lin Feng said to Chu Feng, offering his counsel.
He wished that Chu Feng would take a hint and give him some space, rather than constantly bothering him, which was becoming intolerable. But how could Chu Feng so easily concede? It was not in his nature to give up without a fight.
"Don't delude yourself into thinking you can handle me. I'm sparing you today out of respect for your status as my elder, and I won't disturb the main peak. But I suggest you wise up and stop this disgraceful act. Others might tolerate it out of respect, but I, Lin Feng, certainly will not," Lin Feng said bluntly, hoping Chu Feng would grasp the implications of his words.
Despite his doubts, Chu Feng was determined to maintain a facade of strength before the crowd, particularly in front of Chu Tianyi. He couldn't afford to appear clueless.
