C6 Disbelief!
The skepticism around him was mounting, but Lin Feng felt a surge of excitement as he overheard the disparaging conversations about him. He knew that their contempt was the perfect backdrop for him to showcase his true capabilities.
"Anyone who doubts me, step forward and challenge me. If you can truly demonstrate your strength, then I'll willingly step aside from the Chu family rankings. There's no need for endless debate.
However, if none of you can best me today, my place in the Chu family is justified. From then on, no one should speak ill of me, or I'll have to let my fists do the talking. Understood?" Lin Feng spoke with conviction, fully aware of the impression he needed to make moving forward.
The crowd was astonished by Lin Feng's boldness, finding it hard to reconcile this newfound confidence with the timid man they once knew, who wouldn't dare make a peep.
Even Chu Wei, observing from a distance, struggled to grasp the reality of Lin Feng's transformation. It was almost too much to believe.
"Lin Feng, you've certainly recovered, and I can sense an increase in your abilities," Chu Wei said, "but I urge you to reconsider. The people here are not as simple as you think; their power is formidable. Focus on what you must do, and spare us any further grandstanding. Do you understand?" With that, Chu Wei fell silent.
Lin Feng merely smiled in response, understanding Chu Wei's reasons for caution, yet he refused to back down. He knew that now was not the time for words, but for proving the immense strength he possessed.
"Rest easy, Father. I've declared I can defeat them, and so I shall. If I fail to do so, then I am nothing but worthless," Lin Feng declared, his confidence unwavering.
Chu Wei nodded in response. There was nothing more he could do. Lin Feng had made up his mind, and as his father, Chu Wei could only respect his son's decision. After all, Lin Feng was grown now.
"Who would want to associate with someone as useless as you? What possible advantage could we gain from your company? If we compete and win, everyone would expect it. But if you win, it would only embarrass us. Just drop it," Chu Wenn sneered at Lin Feng.
He was convinced that Lin Feng stood no chance against him. Lin Feng, feeling quite embarrassed by the taunt, also sensed that Chu Wenn's remarks betrayed a lack of confidence in his own abilities.
"What's the matter? Are you afraid that 'trash' like me might beat you and tarnish your reputation? Since I've been upfront with you, and there's nothing left to discuss, it's clear I'm speaking the truth. There's no need to drag this out.
If you're brave enough, then let's have a proper contest. I think it's necessary, don't you?" Lin Feng challenged him directly.
He believed Chu Wenn couldn't defeat him, yet Chu Wenn still put on an air of condescension, which Lin Feng found intolerable. The situation had devolved into chaos, and Lin Feng couldn't contain himself any longer. He knew he had to show these people his true capabilities.
"Fine, let's have a competition. Who's scared?" Chu Wenn declared loudly.
At this point, Lin Feng had escalated things so much that Chu Wenn's refusal would only result in his own humiliation. He had no choice but to accept. Seeing Chu Wenn's immediate agreement, Lin Feng just smiled. He appreciated Chu Wenn's straightforward nature.
The competition was underway. Lin Feng and Chu Wenn stood opposite each other, with Chu Wenn's face contorted in rage. Lin Feng could tell that Chu Wenn despised him, which was the only explanation for his fury.
Yet Lin Feng simply smiled. He continued to beam at Chu Wenn, not wanting to view everyone as an adversary. He also believed that such an attitude showed a lack of emotional intelligence.
As the contest began, at Chu Wei's signal, Lin Feng and Chu Wenn both launched into action. Initially caught off guard, Lin Feng soon found himself under attack as Chu Wenn employed a strategy they had practiced earlier, aggressively targeting Lin Feng.
Upon witnessing the scene, Chu Wei was overcome with worry. He understood that if things continued this way, Lin Feng stood no chance of defeating Chu Wenn. It was evident to everyone that Chu Wenn had lost his mind, becoming uncontrollable.
Yet, Lin Feng was fearless. He charged straight toward Chu Wenn without hesitation. He was oblivious to the usual training rules of the group; his only desire was to confront them in his own way, and that was sufficient for him.
Lin Feng had ingeniously devised a counter-strategy. As he maneuvered the long rope toward Chu Wenn, Chu Wenn attempted to evade but was caught off guard by Lin Feng's swift approach. While Chu Wenn sought refuge in a safe spot, Lin Feng had already secured the position, patiently waiting for Chu Wenn to fall right into his trap.
"How does it feel, Chu Wenn? You didn't see me coming, did you?" Lin Feng's sudden taunt took Chu Wenn by surprise. As he spun around and confirmed Lin Feng's presence behind him, he was struck with disbelief, as if he had witnessed something supernatural.
