C14 Deathabyss
The sense of humiliation only fueled his determination to resist. Despite being a master who had reached the Supreme Realm through his own abilities, he felt it wasn't enough to stand against Lei Ba, who practiced dark arts.
Jiang Xiaoxiao's anxiety grew as they found themselves backed to the brink, with the Deathabyss looming ominously close behind them. A careless misstep could mean their end was near.
Confronted by Lei Ba's relentless pursuit, a part of her contemplated the unthinkable—jumping into the abyss rather than falling into his clutches.
"We're cornered; the Deathabyss is right behind us," Jiang Xiaoxiao said, her voice tinged with a mournful resignation. She had hoped to keep running, but fate had other plans.
All Jiang Xiaoxiao wanted was to live, a simple wish that now seemed impossible to fulfill.
Lei Ba halted his assault, realizing that if they fell into the abyss, he would lose any chance of obtaining the coveted medicine scripture. This prompted his temporary ceasefire.
"Hand over the medicine scripture willingly, and I might let you die with your bodies intact," Lei Ba offered. He would have already struck them down if not for the medicine scripture Ye Han possessed.
Yet, they remained defiant, continuing to provoke him despite the looming threat of death.
"You'll get the Medicine Scripture over my dead body," Ye Han declared, his voice weakened from his grave injuries. But his resolve was clear: he would rather leap into the Deathabyss than let Lei Ba triumph.
"Don't push your luck, kid. Fall into the Deathabyss, and there's no coming back—not even your bodies will be recovered," Lei Ba warned, his anxiety betraying his composed exterior. He didn't want to corner Ye Han too harshly, but the situation had escalated beyond his control.
"Over my dead body!" Ye Han bit back, launching a swift attack on Lei Ba. With nothing left to fear, not even death, what else was there to lose?
He had already pushed himself to the brink; there was no need for you to hold back or to cling to life any longer.
Lei Ba could never have imagined that, under these circumstances, Ye Han would display such a brutal resolve, charging forward yet again. His subordinate's movements suddenly lost their finesse, and he swung his arm swiftly and forcefully.
Seeing this, Jiang Xiaoxiao felt a wave of desolation wash over her. Ye Han was already gravely wounded; he couldn't withstand such a severe attack. Without a second thought, she dashed in front of Ye Han, intent on shielding him from the massive blow.
Ye Han, sensing her intentions, immediately wrapped his arms around Jiang Xiaoxiao and spun around. A tremendous force struck his back, and he spat out a mouthful of blood, his body hurtling through the air like a ragdoll.
Protected in Ye Han's embrace, Jiang Xiaoxiao could feel the excruciating pain wracking his body. She knew that the blow was severe enough to cost Ye Han half his life.
"Ye Han!" Jiang Xiaoxiao's anguished cry echoed as they both plummeted into the chasm of the Deathabyss.
The gap in the Deathabyss was fraught with peril, teeming with spirit beasts. A fall into this abyss meant certain death.
Lei Ba had never anticipated losing control to the extent that he would send them tumbling into the Deathabyss. He watched their figures descend with a dark scowl. Internally, he cursed himself for not managing his strength in that critical moment.
With a heavy sigh, he lamented the missed opportunity for vengeance and the elusive medicinal tome. "Consider yourselves lucky," he muttered.
Turning away, Lei Ba departed. The pursuit of Ye Han had cost him dearly. Many of his own had been killed or injured, and he would have to tend to them upon his return. Regrettably, the medicine book had eluded him—a significant oversight.
Meanwhile, Ye Han and Jiang Xiaoxiao fell through the gap of the Deathabyss, their powers beyond their control. They desperately grasped at anything in midair, trying to slow their descent into oblivion.
Regrettably, it was all in vain!
Jiang Xiaoxiao watched as Ye Han struggled under these circumstances, his will to survive growing ever stronger.
Looking down, she noticed a tree sprouting at the edge of the cliff.
The tree was small, yet it could help slow their descent.
With determination, Jiang Xiaoxiao bit her lip and flung a rope around the tree's branch.
It wrapped around securely, and their speed decreased slightly.
"Ye Han, how are you doing?"
Jiang Xiaoxiao asked anxiously, noting that Ye Han's complexion had grown much paler, his thin lips now devoid of color.
Worry crept into her heart, and she couldn't shake off a sense of foreboding.
Ye Han coughed violently, barely able to speak, but he gave Jiang Xiaoxiao a reassuring look.
"I'm okay!"
Before he could say more, they fell again as the small tree couldn't bear their weight and snapped.
Luckily, it had lessened their impact somewhat.
They hit the ground hard, and though the severe pain was overwhelming, they didn't suffer many injuries.
This was indeed a stroke of luck amidst misfortune.
After a struggle, Jiang Xiaoxiao managed to stand up. She immediately began to check on Ye Han, who was now unconscious, with growing concern.
She gently tapped his cheek, trying to rouse him. As long as he could wake up, all would not be lost.
Ye Han had been on the verge of succumbing to sleep, to escape the pain, but Jiang Xiaoxiao's increasingly distressed voice made him groan.
"I'm fine, don't worry. My head took a serious hit; I need to heal. I'm counting on you now."
Ye Han's words were labored and intermittent, revealing the severity of his injuries.
Jiang Xiaoxiao quickly brushed away her tears and resumed tending to Ye Han's wounds.
As long as Ye Han could still talk, as long as he could respond to her, it meant he was not at death's door.
Surveying their surroundings, she realized that while the place wasn't safe, there was no immediate danger.
For Jiang Xiaoxiao, this was a fortunate turn of events.
She had some injuries, but they were minor compared to the dire state Ye Han was in.
Ye Han's consciousness slowly returned to clarity. With Jiang Xiaoxiao's assistance, he stimulated his acupoints, allowing his wounds to heal gradually.
