C17 Healing
"Don't cry, I'm alright," Ye Han said, his voice tinged with helplessness as he looked at Jiang Xiaoxiao, showing a vulnerable side. He longed to wipe away the tears by her eyes, but realized he was powerless to do so, which caused him great discomfort.
"Stop crying, just feed me," Ye Han whispered to the still weeping Jiang Xiaoxiao, trying to comfort her.
At his words, Jiang Xiaoxiao couldn't help but let out a small laugh. "Okay! I'll feed you," she said with determination.
She gathered some clean dew to wash the fruit's skin thoroughly. Then, she tenderly brought the fruit to Ye Han's lips, helping him to take a bite.
The sweet flavor of the Spirit Forming Fruit burst forth, filling his mouth and releasing a strange and extraordinary power that emanated from his stomach. This unique force had a remarkable ability to heal any wounds it encountered.
Ye Han's shattered meridians were mending, and the strength that had deserted his body was returning. He could even move his fingers again.
With the fruit consumed, Ye Han's recovery accelerated. His pallid complexion gained a healthy flush, and color returned to his lips. Everything was improving remarkably.
Seeing the transformation, Jiang Xiaoxiao breathed a sigh of relief. "It's working, thank goodness," she murmured.
She had been anxiously watching over Ye Han, but now his wounds were visibly healing, and the bleeding had ceased. It was clear that his recovery wouldn't take long.
"I owe you thanks for finding the Spirit Forming Fruit. Without it, my injuries would have been much harder to heal. After resting tonight, I should be nearly back to normal," Ye Han expressed his amazement. He had anticipated needing several days to recuperate, but the miraculous fruit had hastened his healing. Furthermore, the fruit's method of treatment was incredibly gentle, causing no harm to his body.
To his astonishment, he discovered that the fruit was also purging the few toxins present in his system. The pace of healing was neither slow nor rapid, but exceptionally soothing.
Ye Han's spirits had gradually lifted, and his worries had dissipated now that he had the means to defend himself.
Despite still being pursued by Lei Ba, he had enough strength to put up a fight.
"It's getting dark. We should head back to the cave to rest," he suggested.
Jiang Xiaoxiao glanced around nervously as the sun dipped below the horizon.
Soon, the last of the daylight would vanish.
And with nightfall, the surroundings would turn perilous.
Ye Han was aware that he needed a tranquil place to continue his healing.
He gave a slight nod in agreement.
With Jiang Xiaoxiao's assistance, he rose to his feet and made his way to the prearranged cave.
The cave was rudimentary, strewn with various broken stones that made sitting quite uncomfortable.
Yet, despite the spartan conditions, it offered a safe haven from the elements and from the prying eyes of any spirit beasts.
Jiang Xiaoxiao felt a twinge of guilt. Ye Han had sustained serious injuries, and she wished she could provide better care for him.
They had scoured the area, and this cave seemed the safest option. It was rough, but it would offer them shelter through the night.
"This place will do. I need to keep healing. The faster my wounds heal, the sooner we can figure out how to leave this place tomorrow," Ye Han said before settling down cross-legged to maximize the remaining efficacy of the Spirit Forming Fruit.
Jiang Xiaoxiao sat silently outside, vigilantly keeping watch over Ye Han.
Her eyes were fixed on the cave's entrance, and as the last sliver of sunlight disappeared, darkness engulfed the space.
Gradually adjusting to the dark, she could make out the shapes of nearby weeds and common herbs.
The gentle sway of the breeze brought a moment of serenity, with not a sound to be heard from outside.
Yet Jiang Xiaoxiao's nerves remained on edge, the unfamiliarity of their location keeping her alert for any potential dangers. She was determined to protect Ye Han, ensuring that nothing could distract him from his recovery.
The silence outside was almost oppressive, reminiscent of being in a vast, eerily quiet space that weighed heavily on the senses.
Jiang Xiaoxiao pondered the stillness of their surroundings, wondering if it was due to a powerful spirit beast lurking nearby, deterring other creatures from venturing into its territory.
After the thought crossed her mind, her worry persisted, and her heartbeat seemed to intensify.
She had explored the surrounding area during the day and indeed hadn't spotted any spirit beasts, which only added to her unease.
The situation appeared to be taking a turn for the worse.
True, there were no signs of spirit beasts in the daylight, but this could very well mean that they were in the territory of a formidable spirit beast.
Jiang Xiaoxiao's face was pale as she turned to look at Ye Han, who was seated in the shadows.
With no light to see by, Ye Han's features were indiscernible, yet she could make out his vague silhouette, diligently tending to his wounds.
It was as if he was completely oblivious to the outside world, entirely engrossed in his physical recovery.
Had it not been for the clear sound of his breathing, one might have thought something had befallen him.
The deeper Ye Han delved into his cultivation, the more he noticed the peculiar benefits of the Spirit Forming Fruit; his injuries had nearly fully healed.
Soon, he would be completely cured, and the Heavenly Spirit Pill within him had taken on a seductive hint of red.
This was the medicinal power of the Spirit Forming Fruit!
Ye Han was increasingly astounded. The Spirit Forming Fruit had no adverse effects; on the contrary, it had fortified his body.
Feeling a great deal more at ease, Ye Han acknowledged the peril he faced, but he now possessed a much stronger constitution.
This bolstered his confidence in the future immensely.
In the midst of his healing, Ye Han suddenly became aware of a violent shaking outside.
The sensation was indicative of a high-level spirit beast's presence. With a furrowed brow and a sense of concern, he realized his current predicament was delicate and could not afford any interruptions.
