C20 Water Pool

The verdant grasslands rippled with waves as a gentle breeze swept across them. Standing at the edge of the wind, one could savor the soothing touch of the breeze against their skin. Yet, the two individuals by the pond were unable to relish this tranquil moment. They scanned their surroundings with tense eyes; it had been an eternity since they last encountered a water source, and they weren't about to let this chance slip by.

"Ye Han, be careful. I have a bad feeling about this place," Jiang Xiaoxiao said, her gaze darting around the eerily quiet area.

"Don't worry!" Ye Han replied, aware of the unease but not overly concerned.

In such water-scarce regions, there were bound to be guardian beasts or spiritual creatures. With weapon in hand, he advanced cautiously, but no signs of life appeared. This suggested their potential adversary might be concealed.

Ye Han gestured for Jiang Xiaoxiao to keep her distance. Despite her apprehension, after a moment's hesitation, she remained in place, ready to spring into action or retreat if danger presented itself.

Ye Han could feel Jiang Xiaoxiao's anxious eyes on him and knew she hadn't moved back; they were still within a safe distance to escape should trouble arise. Without any further action, he kept a vigilant watch and edged forward, sensing that whatever was hidden was doing so quite effectively, and he couldn't shake the feeling of being closely watched.

Beneath the deep waters of the pond, a pair of eyes fixated on the two figures above.

Finally, Ye Han reached the water's edge. He quickly filled his pre-prepared water bag, the gurgling sound marking the flow into the container. Once full, he remained on high alert as he secured the bag and tossed it behind him, ready to fill another.

The moment he submerged the second water bag, a palpable sense of danger surged towards Ye Han. With a keen instinct, he leaped into the air, evading the unseen threat.

Narrowly avoiding a lethal blow, a long tentacle shot out from the pool with incredible speed.

The appendage was razor-sharp, and a single stab would surely be piercingly cold and fatal.

Ye Han's heart skipped a beat, grateful for his swift reflexes; otherwise, he would have been lying on the ground by now.

He moved quickly backward, realizing that the tentacle seemed to have a sense of his location, as if it had eyes, relentlessly pursuing and attacking him.

Jiang Xiaoxiao, who had just been struck by a water bag and thought she was out of danger, was just beginning to relax when she witnessed this perilous moment.

The massive tentacle nearly impaled Jiang Xiaoxiao, but she quickly fell backward, narrowly escaping disaster.

Without a second thought, she rolled away!

Clutching the water bag tightly, she wasn't sure if it would be of use in the future, but at that moment, Jiang Xiaoxiao's only thought was to put as much distance as possible between herself and this perilous place.

Once she had taken cover at a safe distance, she turned to see how Ye Han was faring.

In just a few short minutes, Ye Han had already drawn his sword and was engaged in combat with the tentacle.

Sparks flew fiercely where the blade met the tentacle, indicating the formidable strength of the creature.

Ye Han appeared to be struggling against the tentacle's might.

It was hard to believe that a single tentacle could force Ye Han into a continuous retreat.

A smile played on Ye Han's lips; it was a rare treat to encounter such a fascinating spirit beast.

It had been concealed in the pond all along, masking its presence to avoid detection.

Yet, it would launch a surprise attack at the most critical moments, showing a glimmer of intelligence.

Unfortunately for the beast, it had encountered Ye Han.

Jiang Xiaoxiao watched the fierce battle with bated breath, the clash of sword and saber echoing in the air.

Her heart raced with anxiety as she kept her gaze fixed on Ye Han, fearing he might be overwhelmed.

She felt the urge to rush forward and assist, but considering her own strength, she doubted she could be of any real help.

With a heavy sigh, her eyes remained locked on Ye Han, full of concern.

Eventually, Ye Han began to discern a pattern in the tentacle's movements. He realized that once the tentacle extended beyond a certain range from the pond, its attacks became less frequent and its strength diminished significantly.

From the outset, it was clear that the spiritual beast, truly a tentacle creature, had allowed them entry to maintain control within a certain area. Now, realizing its target had slipped away and was out of reach, the tentacle ceased its fruitless assault on Ye Han to conserve energy, slowly withdrawing.

As the tentacle fell to the grass and began to glide toward the pond, Jiang Xiaoxiao's heart raced with anxiety. "You think you can just come and go as you please?" Ye Han challenged, facing the breeze. The spiritual beast had made its presence known; it couldn't possibly leave without a trace.

Jiang Xiaoxiao was beside herself with concern for Ye Han's safety. Despite the spiritual beast's apparent retreat, Ye Han remained relentless. Her worry was palpable, yet she held her tongue, inching closer, ready to assist Ye Han should he falter. Weapon in hand, she edged toward the pond, her nerves taut.

The tension was palpable; Jiang Xiaoxiao was on high alert for any lurking dangers in the Deathabyss. Ye Han's expression was icy, his gaze sharpening with resolve. Without eliminating this spiritual beast, neither he nor Jiang Xiaoxiao could hope to survive in this perilous place.

Having finally discovered this pond, they couldn't let the opportunity to vanquish the beast slip away. Ye Han gripped his weapon and struck swiftly. The tentacle, as if sentient, evaded each blow, retreating further, seemingly drawing Ye Han closer to the pond's edge.

Oblivious to the increasing peril, Ye Han was singularly focused on the tentacle, his attention undivided. Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoxiao, from her vantage point, could see the dangers encroaching upon Ye Han. She was about to call out a warning when another tentacle surged towards him with alarming speed. Before she could utter a word, she witnessed the harrowing moment unfold.
