C23 Discover

Harnessing his spiritual energy, he dried his clothes in an instant.

He felt rejuvenated, and his once grimy face now had a fresh, clean appearance.

Noticing the figure nearby still had its back to him and was vigilantly scanning the surroundings, he felt a twinge of compassion and a subtle smile graced his face as he approached.

"Ye Han, I'm ready. You should go now," Jiang Xiaoxiao's clear voice called out from behind.

Ye Han turned slowly to face Jiang Xiaoxiao, who looked renewed and as beautiful as ever.

He lingered on her image for a moment longer than he intended, then softly responded.

"Alright!"

Ye Han strode away quickly, aware that lingering in this place was not an option, so he aimed for swift action.

He skirted the massive carcass of the spirit beast and made his way to the edge of the pond.

Leaping into the water, he began to wash himself hastily.

But once submerged, he noticed the water's peculiar nature; it seemed imbued with a strange power that aided in recovery.

Ye Han had sustained a minor wound during the fight. It wasn't deep, but he hadn't attended to it yet. Immersed in the water, he sensed an unseen force aiding the healing of his body.

Realizing this, Ye Han remained still, soaking in the pond and absorbing the mysterious energy that seemed to emanate from beneath.

While experiencing this power, he wondered why Jiang Xiaoxiao, who had used the water earlier, hadn't noticed anything unusual.

His gaze shifted to the distant figure, who appeared to be on constant watch.

Without overthinking, he took a deep breath and plunged deeper into the water.

Determined to uncover the secrets below, he wanted to understand what made the water so special that it could sustain such a massive spiritual beast, and what truth lay behind the beast's longing to return to the pond at the end of its life.

With these questions in mind, Ye Han continued to descend into the depths of the pond!

Inside, it was pitch black; he could not make out any light or discern his surroundings. The pond seemed narrow from above, but it expanded vastly beneath the surface.

It was as if the true expanse lay hidden below.

Ye Han felt the water's pressure pushing him upward, yet he persisted, resolutely diving deeper.

He was determined to uncover the minimum price. What could possibly be so valuable that the Eight Beheading Beast would guard it with its life?

He was eager to discover what could maintain its spiritual energy even within the water.

Ye Han had already formed an idea that it must be some kind of treasure.

This thought only intensified his anticipation.

Yet, he remained vigilant, surrounded by pitch darkness that obscured his vision. Despite this, his senses were acutely aware, attuned to the ceaseless flow of the water around him.

He followed the current, drawn inexorably in its direction, his heart swelling with excitement.

Before long, a peculiar green light pierced the gloom. It stood out starkly against the oppressive darkness, flickering intermittently—now visible, now gone, but always unmistakably clear.

Ye Han was ecstatic. Though he had yet to identify the object, he was certain it was something of great value.

He hastened his pace, swimming swiftly towards the source of the light. The prospect of acquiring something that could present him with a significant opportunity made his desire to possess it all the more urgent.

As he drew nearer, he could sense the water teeming with a powerful spiritual energy.

Even Ye Han couldn't resist lingering in its presence, and as he did, his wounds miraculously healed.

The weariness that had weighed upon him vanished, and the spiritual energy and strength he had expended were fully restored.

Ye Han was acutely aware of the transformation within his body, further convinced of the treasure's worth.

Without further hesitation, he propelled himself towards the green glow.

The closer he got, the more he sensed an enigmatic force shielding him.

At last, he reached the source of the green light and discovered it was a plant radiating a soft green luminescence.

It resembled an ordinary water plant, one that would go unnoticed in a typical pond. Yet here, its intermittent glow was clearly visible—a sure sign of a spiritual herb!

Overwhelmed with joy, Ye Han eagerly extended his hand to pluck it.

But to his astonishment, he couldn't make contact with the spiritual plant. This baffling occurrence took him by surprise.

It was right before Ye Han's eyes, tangible and real, yet somehow beyond his grasp. It was as if a trove of treasures lay before him, tantalizingly out of reach.

Ye Han's lips curled into a subtle smile, and the realization didn't come as much of a surprise to him. It was as if he had anticipated this all along. After all, harvesting a spiritual herb was never an easy task. He unsheathed his dagger and delicately sliced toward the base of the plant, hoping to sever it with this technique. Yet, his efforts proved futile, leaving him somewhat exasperated. The object of his desire was tantalizingly close, yet frustratingly out of reach.

It was no wonder that, despite the passage of time, the Eight Beasts had not consumed the herb. They could only lurk nearby, safeguarding the elusive prize they too were unable to claim. Ye Han gently shook his head in the water, aware that he needed to hasten his efforts before Jiang Xiaoxiao grew anxious.

With eyes closed, he tuned into the flow of the Heavenly Spirit Pill, attempting to envelop the spiritual herb with the power of his body. Whether this approach would work remained uncertain, but it was the only option he had left to explore.

Before long, a look of self-assured triumph spread across Ye Han's face. His method was indeed effective. The once formless spiritual herb materialized, as if taking shape before his very eyes, and became tangible in his grasp. Ye Han swiftly secured the herb and surfaced.

In the instant the herb touched Ye Han's hand, the once spiritually charged waters lost all vitality, transforming into nothing more than ordinary water, its clarity significantly diminished. At last, the mystery of the water source was revealed to Ye Han.

Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoxiao had been vigilantly standing guard. Time had slipped by without any sound from the water, stirring worry within her. She turned to face the still surface, finding it devoid of any presence or movement. A surge of alarm struck her, and she dashed toward the water source without hesitation.
