C18 The Second Person!

Xiao Feng quickly began tending to his wounds while racking his brain for a strategy to defeat his formidable opponent.

The Iron-armored General's cultivation level must be at the peak of the Universe Stage, but what's truly daunting is that he's no ordinary cultivator at that level. His combat prowess has already reached Universe Stage standards, and his overwhelming killing intent makes him a challenging adversary.

Once his injuries were healed, Xiao Feng stowed the Overlord Spear and, without a moment's hesitation, darted to the side.

In the nick of time, as Xiao Feng vacated the spot, a fearsome slash struck the ground, carving a deep trench where he had just stood.

That was close! If that strike had landed, I wouldn't be worrying about my upcoming fight with Hai Qingyu.

A shiver ran down Xiao Feng's spine, but it also stoked the flames of his battle will.

The Iron-armored General, clearly frustrated by his missed attack, advanced slowly, his aura of malevolence intensifying with each step, ramping up the pressure on Xiao Feng.

The oppressive force zeroed in on Xiao Feng, cutting off any retreat. He had no choice but to confront the attack head-on!

The Iron-armored General soared into the air, brandishing his blade with both hands and bringing it down on Xiao Feng with a force that seemed to split the very air.

Xiao Feng felt dwarfed, as if he were standing at the foot of a towering mountain, but this very oppression sparked his fighting spirit. If you seek to overpower me, then I'll meet your force with my own!

Unbeknownst to him, Xiao Feng's grip on the Overlord Spear strengthened, the weapon thrumming with energy. His spear thrust forward like a dragon, clashing fiercely with the Iron-armored General's blade.

Ding!

Sparks scattered as the shockwave from the collision shredded Xiao Feng's sleeve, and the force transmitted through the spear was nothing short of monstrous.

A mysterious voice commented, "This young one certainly has a fierce determination. Impressive, indeed."

The voice from the armor exuded pride, "Naturally, you should see who chose him! Besides, this trial will further temper his physique, which hasn't seen much improvement since his breakthrough to the Flood Realm."

"If I'm not mistaken, he's already manifesting a hint of spear intent, isn't he? Now that's rather formidable!"

"Terrifying? Absolutely! If his talent weren't terrifying, how would he ever forge his own path after reaching a dead end?! How would he blaze new trails?!"

Xiao Feng managed to hold out even longer this time, but ultimately, he was still forced to dodge in a rather undignified manner.

As the battle wore on, Xiao Feng accumulated numerous injuries, and the domineering blade aura continued to ravage his insides.

With no other choice, he resorted to wielding the Overlord Spear again. Observing the Iron-armored General kneeling before him, Xiao Feng wisely kept his distance this time, allowing himself time to recover.

Once he was healed, Xiao Feng resumed the fight with spear in hand, then rested and fought again.

Time passed in this relentless cycle of combat and recovery, and amidst the severe injuries, Xiao Feng's physique had significantly improved. He now felt confident that in a rematch with Liang Meng, a single move would be all it took to incapacitate him.

The Iron-armored General watched in frustration as his opponent, like a rascal, would threaten with the Overlord Spear whenever he was outmatched, only to return stronger for another round. Despite being devoid of emotion, he couldn't suppress the urge to finish Xiao Feng off quickly.

The Iron-armored General advanced with the same motion, the same strike, but this time, the blade aura was distinctly different. It had turned a sinister blood-red and was brimming with deadly energy. Even he seemed to fade slightly after unleashing the strike, nearly vanishing.

Xiao Feng knew he couldn't take this attack lightly. If his opponent wanted this strike to be decisive, then he was ready to oblige.

The spear's presence was palpable, and although the sensation was subtle, it was more than enough.

Xiao Feng's focus narrowed to the blade and the blade aura, his concentration reaching an all-time high.

With this spear, I will shatter your defenses!

The spear pierced the air with a sound akin to a dragon's cry. As it sliced through, it seemed to tear a rift in the very atmosphere, its speed so incredible that the air itself couldn't keep up!

The spear and blade clashed, initially locked in a standoff, but within a second, the blade aura began to falter and was ultimately shattered by the Overlord Spear!

After destroying the blade aura, the spear didn't pause for even a moment, continuing its relentless assault on the Iron-armored General.

It pierced right through him!

The general was momentarily taken aback, glancing down at his wound as it slowly began to fade away. In his final moments, he appeared to crack a smile at Xiao Feng.

The eighth wave was over! Xiao Feng quickly sat down to catch his breath. If the eighth wave was this daunting, he could only imagine what the ninth wave had in store.

As the Spiritual Qi converged once more, Xiao Feng braced himself, gripping the Trial Land's token tightly. If he faced an insurmountable challenge, he would crush the token and make a swift escape!

But contrary to Xiao Feng's expectations, a Teleportation Magic Array had materialized before him!

Was there no ninth wave? Had he already conquered the trial?

That couldn't be right. Even though the eighth wave was formidable, it would be underwhelming if that was the pinnacle of difficulty.

Despite his lingering doubts, Xiao Feng stepped into the Teleportation Magic Array.

Emerging amidst a surge of brilliant white light, Xiao Feng found himself in a new location. Taking in his surroundings, he nodded in approval.

The setting was much the same as before, with the notable addition of a small city. Before it sat a young man, cross-legged.

Of course, there had to be a ninth wave!

It looked like this person was the object of the Trial here, but he seemed somewhat out of sync with the ambiance of the place.

No matter. Xiao Feng didn't waver. It was better to act first than to suffer the consequences of inaction!

Without hesitation, he charged, aiming the Overlord Spear at the young man's back!

The young man sprang to his feet, retreating swiftly while drawing his sword to parry Xiao Feng's attack, all the while exclaiming, "Have you lost your mind?! Why pick a fight with me out of the blue? Go take on that behemoth instead!"

The young man was named Ye Xiu. As the Sect Master's final disciple, he had been stuck in the ninth wave, or rather, the second level, for quite some time. Xiao Feng was the first real person he had encountered.

It seemed, though, that this person might have a few screws loose.

Xiao Feng was bewildered. Since when could something in the Trial Land actually talk? Did it possess intelligence?

After a brief exchange, Xiao Feng ventured a question, "Do you have intelligence?"

"Are you kidding me? I'm not one of those dimwits from the Trial Land!"

Ye Xiu quickly realized the implication of his words. Surely Xiao Feng didn't mistake him for a part of the final trial challenge.

The two exchanged awkward glances. Xiao Feng was mortified, while Ye Xiu began to question himself. Had he been in the Trial Land so long that he started to resemble its inhabitants? Could he really look that bad?

"I was under the impression that the whole Trial Land was a solo fight..."
