C46 Star Token
Ghost-face Girl stared at Qiao Mao, her expression one of utter astonishment. She couldn't fathom how the young man before her had come by such information.
At present, the Nether Clan hadn't yet begun their invasion, and many were oblivious to their existence. Yet, here was this youth, aware of the exact timing of their impending assault.
Seeing Ghost-face Girl's animated reaction, Qiao Mao felt a surge of satisfaction, knowing his words had hit their mark. He allowed himself a moment of silent triumph before continuing, "I may not be the most connected, but my master has been actively combating the Nether Clan, which is how I've come to learn so much about them."
Qiao Mao, still on the younger side, resorted to citing a fictitious master as his source. He couldn't possibly reveal that his insights were drawn from his experiences in a past life.
"Such a formidable individual exists in this world! I must meet him," exclaimed the middle-aged man, his voice laced with reverence for Qiao Mao's supposed mentor.
He understood the Nether Clan's brutality, yet he admired the courage to engage in battle for humanity's survival. That alone commanded his respect.
"Who is your master? What more does he know?" probed Ghost-face Girl, her curiosity piqued just as much as the middle-aged man's.
"My master has been on the trail of a Nether Clan expert for over ten days now. I'm not sure when he'll return, so please, make yourselves at home in my estate. As soon as he's back, you'll be the first to know," Qiao Mao offered.
The news of the master's absence gave Ghost-face Girl pause, but the middle-aged man advised, "Miss, his master is an exceptional figure; he could be of significant assistance to us. We should accept the offer to stay."
"Mr. Jing, we cannot afford to procrastinate. If we fail to uncover all the Nether Clan's weaknesses within the next three to five years, we're bound to lose the war," Ghost-face Girl countered, shaking her head.
Qiao Mao's spirits soared at her words. Having battled the Nether Clan numerous times in his past life, he had meticulously cataloged each of their vulnerabilities.
"Miss, the Nether Clan has nine thousand weaknesses. Their complexity makes them incredibly difficult to pinpoint. Without an unmatched expert, the task is virtually impossible," Qiao Mao explained.
Uncovering all the weaknesses of the Nether Clan was a daunting task, one that even an unparalleled master might find impossible to achieve in a short span of time.
"Miaoshuang and I have only managed to uncover five or six hundred of the Nether Clan's weaknesses over the past six months," the middle-aged man said with a sigh.
Yet, Qiao Mao scrutinized the man with narrowed eyes. His level of cultivation was undoubtedly high; he was a super expert.
Otherwise, he couldn't have possibly identified so many of the Nether Clan's weaknesses in just half a year.
What was most telling was that the Nether Clan hadn't even invaded yet. With so few of them hidden among humans, the fact that he had uncovered so many weaknesses spoke volumes about his exceptional abilities.
Qiao Mao mulled over the situation for a while. Revealing all the Nether Clan's weaknesses at once would surely make him seem monstrous. However, in his past life, both the Ghost-face Girl and the middle-aged man had assisted him. He would feel somewhat guilty if he withheld the weaknesses of the Nether Clan from them.
"Senior, my master once shared with me three thousand weaknesses of the Nether Clan, along with some strategies to combat them," Qiao Mao eventually decided to reveal just the three thousand weaknesses. This approach would allow him to show his appreciation for the pair while sidestepping any unnecessary complications.
The Ghost-face Girl and the middle-aged man were astounded. Before Qiao Mao could finish, the Ghost-face Girl interrupted him, her voice tinged with amazement, "You're aware of the Nether Clan's three thousand weaknesses?"
The middle-aged man's surprise was palpable. With his considerable cultivation, it might take him years to fully research those three thousand weaknesses. The more weaknesses of the Nether Clan they uncovered, the harder it became to discover new ones.
Qiao Mao nodded and retrieved a jade slip from his Storage Bag. He then employed his Divine Sense to swiftly inscribe the Nether Clan's three thousand weaknesses onto the slip.
"Senior, if it's alright with you, please accept this jade slip that lists the Nether Clan's three thousand weaknesses," Qiao Mao offered after he finished inscribing the slip with his Divine Sense and handed it over.
Upon receiving the information about the Nether Clan's weaknesses, both the Ghost-face Girl and the middle-aged man were visibly thrilled. A curious gleam flickered deep within the middle-aged man's eyes.
"Thank you." The middle-aged man solemnly nodded as he took the jade slip.
Armed with the knowledge of the Nether Clan's three thousand vulnerabilities, he and Ghost-face Girl could now save at least two to three years of effort. Ghost-face Girl also gave a slight nod in thanks to Qiao Mao.
"Here, take this Star Token; it might prove useful to you," Ghost-face Girl said, offering a token to Qiao Mao.
Qiao Mao accepted the Star Token, feeling a slight tremor in his heart. Perhaps in the future, he could use the Star Token to uncover the woman's true identity. Yet, Qiao Mao had the sense that it might be a long while before he saw Ghost-face Girl again.
This thought dispelled his sense of regret.
As Qiao Mao ran his fingers over the Star Token, he was profoundly shaken. He couldn't help but exclaim, "This is Falling Star Divine Iron!"
Falling Star Divine Iron was exceedingly rare. Even when Qiao Mao had reached the pinnacle of power in his past life, he had only managed to obtain two pieces, each no larger than the size of a palm.
A battle blade forged from Falling Star Divine Iron would undoubtedly be unparalleled, possessing extraordinary power.
The fact that Ghost-face Girl used Falling Star Divine Iron for a mere token indicated a prodigious waste. It was clear evidence of the formidable backgrounds of both Ghost-face Girl and the middle-aged man.
Qiao Mao thought to himself, "It's no wonder I couldn't find Ghost-face Girl in my previous life; her identity is truly frightening."
Upon realizing that Qiao Mao could identify the token's material, the middle-aged man's eyes flashed with a deeper intrigue. He whispered to Ghost-face Girl, "Miaoshuang, this young man possesses such remarkable knowledge at his age. He must be concealing something."
"Indeed. There are scarcely any on this continent who can recognize Falling Star Divine Iron, yet he knows of it. It's quite astounding," Ghost-face Girl replied.
Furthermore, the young man gave her an exceptionally odd sensation. Facing him, she felt as though she was confronting an Old Monster who had lived through many ages.
Despite Ghost-face Girl's mask, most people would be captivated by her presence, even to the point of losing their composure. However, this young man's gaze remained crystal clear.
The middle-aged man internally nodded in agreement. He sent a telepathic message, "This young man's abilities are extraordinary; not only can he recognize Falling Star Divine Iron, but he can also use Divine Sense to inscribe information onto a jade slip. It's truly remarkable. Since you're curious about him as well, let's pay a visit to his home. We might just discover something valuable."
Ghost-face Girl hesitated briefly before accepting the proposal. Her curiosity about Qiao Mao was simply too strong; she was eager to learn more about him.
"Leave it to me, I've got this covered," the middle-aged man reassured her with a mental chuckle. He mused to himself, "Perhaps this young man is the only one who can pique her interest and stir such intense curiosity within her."
