C6 Kneel down for Me

He kept repeating how good things were, yet he couldn't pinpoint what exactly was good. It wasn't just his sense that Emmanuel was off, Daisy and Georgia were also visibly upset.

The negotiations with Avery were meant to address Anlesque Pharmaceutical's liquidity crisis. But with Emmanuel's blunder, it was clear Avery wouldn't be investing another dime.

Avery crushed his cigar into the ashtray with a sneer at Daisy, "Well done, Daisy. You've brought this on yourself. I'm curious to see how you'll manage with this disabled man by your side!" With those words, he stormed out.

"Mr. Davis, Mr. Davis, please, don't be upset over a trivial matter. Let's talk this over..." Georgia, in a state of panic, hurried after him.

But Avery had already left with a slam of the door, leaving the living room's atmosphere heavy and stifling.

"Emmanuel!" Daisy and Georgia roared in unison, their voices echoing like lionesses.

"Get back on your knees! Who said you could stand? Who gave you permission to cause a scene? Have you lost your mind or simply forgotten who calls the shots in this house?"

"And what's with the act? Playing dumb in the Morse household for three years—what's your endgame?"

"As long as I'm here, you won't turn anything upside down. Even the Monkey King couldn't escape Buddha's palm, and neither will you!"

Georgia ranted furiously, "We had Avery over to fix Daisy Corporation's financial mess, and you just had to mess it up. What were you trying to prove? Now, what are we supposed to do? How will you fix this?"

"Go kneel with those durians and think hard about what you've done. If you don't come to your senses, I'll divorce you on the spot and throw you out of the Morse family!"

Georgia's words were more than just angry threats; they were a command. She wasn't insane—she was scheming. If she could use Emmanuel's defiance to her advantage and push him out of the Morse family, then perhaps she could sweet-talk Avery. There might still be a chance to turn things around...

Daisy stood frozen, her body rigid, still reeling from Emmanuel's behavior.

She reflected on the past three years, how her classmates, friends, and besties had all settled down, some married, others with children. Their spouses were either diamond tycoons or heirs to gold mines.

And her? She had "married" a man who was not only a waste of space but also deaf and disabled.

She had grown accustomed to the cold remarks and the whispers that followed her, but she had persevered, managing Anlesque Pharmaceutical Group with her personal charm and business acumen. Until now, the company had enjoyed good annual turnover.

But the worsening economy, coupled with the rise of e-commerce and the internet, had dealt a severe blow to her traditional business model.

A failed drug test had resulted in a devastating financial loss of tens of millions, and despite her efforts to patch things up, an eight million dollar funding gap remained. This time, Anlesque Pharmaceutical couldn't survive and was forced to declare bankruptcy and shut its doors.

Determined, she swallowed her pride and approached Trevor, the CEO of Harmony Pharmaceuticals Group, hoping his son Avery would come to the table. If Avery agreed to address the eight million dollar shortfall, there was a chance to salvage Anlesque Pharmaceutical Group.

But Emmanuel's reckless interference had thrown a wrench into her plans. Avery refused to invest, and her strategy crumbled.

"Emmanuel, you good-for-nothing, didn't you hear what I said? Get down on your knees!" Daisy's frustration boiled over into fury, her face flushed with anger as she bellowed.
