C1 Alxemy
"Strange... where am I?" Chen Fan murmured, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as his vision gradually sharpened. Before him lay a spacious, brightly lit classroom filled with unfamiliar young men and women, all of whom were gazing expectantly at the podium.
A petite figure stood at the podium, teaching whip in hand, speaking with an air of confidence. At first glance, everything appeared perfectly normal. Yet, Chen Fan couldn't understand a single word the attractive teacher was saying:
"Students, remember, one must never let their guard down in Alxemy! Just yesterday, our school was shaken by tragic news. Li Mengmeng, a student from Class C, ignored warnings and attempted to alter the course of the battle between Hogg and Wharton on her own... Tragically, she met her end at the hands of a Death Eater..."
With those words, the teacher bowed her head, sighing deeply. The classroom fell into a deathly silence, the air heavy with sorrow. Every student's face was etched with regret, their eyes brimming with mourning.
Chen Fan alone clamped a hand over his mouth, fighting back the urge to burst into laughter. I'm sorry... I didn't mean to disrupt this somber mood. But Hogg? Death Eaters? What on earth is going on? Either I've lost my mind, or everyone else has. Clearly, one of us has gone mad!
But his amusement was short-lived. Clenching his teeth, Chen Fan doubled over on the desk as waves of excruciating pain crashed over him. Blurry memories flickered past like scenes on a spinning lantern.
When the pain finally subsided, Chen Fan's eyes snapped open, his expression one of utter shock. So... he had crossed into another world?
The memories within this body revealed to Chen Fan that he had indeed arrived in a parallel universe. Here, he was a senior high school student, sharing not only his name but also his family background. This world's civilization bore an uncanny resemblance to that of Blue Star. The most significant difference was the existence of a mysterious and unknown virtual realm—Alxemy. Everyone, from the young to the elderly, could enter. By completing dungeon quests within Alxemy, one could amass evolution points, which could then be exchanged for a myriad of unimaginable powers.
Most importantly, these abilities could be projected into reality for practical use.
The dungeons that formed the cornerstone of the Alxemy were each an independent world unto themselves!
After giving it some thought, Chen Fan's eyes suddenly widened in astonishment.
He was incredibly familiar with these dungeons!
They were all from anime, movies, and games from his past life.
Titles like World of Warcraft, Naruto, Resident Evil, and so on.
As for the origins of the Alxemy, countless global organizations and nations were diligently researching it, yet its source remained an enigma.
"Wait, no one in this world understands those dungeons!"
"Except for me!"
In the instant that realization dawned on him, Chen Fan leapt to his feet, his eyes alight with wild joy.
As someone who had crossed over from another world, he had an intimate knowledge of these once universally known tales.
Yet for the inhabitants of this world, venturing into a dungeon was akin to entering a boundless abyss, fraught with peril and dread!
"I'm the only one who knows the storylines..."
"That's my greatest advantage right now!"
Chen Fan gripped his fists tightly, his excitement nearly overwhelming.
"Chen Fan, what are you muttering to yourself?"
But before Chen Fan could revel in his excitement, a metaphorical bucket of cold water was unceremoniously dumped on him!
The striking teacher, Ouyang Jing, pushed up her glasses, her eyes brimming with an intimidating aura!
Chen Fan, usually an unremarkable student, was now brazenly flouting classroom discipline like the few known troublemakers?
This simply wouldn't do!
"I'm sorry, teacher..."
Chen Fan cleared his throat awkwardly and quickly took his seat.
He remained lost in his thoughts even as the class bell signaled the end of the lesson.
Information disparity!
If he could just leverage the knowledge gap between himself and this world...
The whole world might as well be at his fingertips.
Navigating those treacherous dungeons, seen by others as dens of serpents and beasts, would be a breeze for someone privy to their plots.
Given time, ascending to the pinnacle of power as a world-class powerhouse was well within reach!
Calming the thrill coursing through him, Chen Fan inhaled deeply.
He slung his backpack over his shoulder and exited the classroom.
Chen Fan made his way across the campus, taking in his surroundings with keen interest.
"Hua Hua Real Estate Company is offering a high salary for a gun expert, requiring a minimum of Level C. Successful applicants can expect an annual salary of ten million!"
"The Wolf Hunting Association is earnestly seeking an experienced Evolver for collaboration. We have a wealth of dungeon guides to share, and every month, we form a solid team to pioneer new dungeons!"
As he passed the bulletin board, Chen Fan noticed it wasn't just private enterprises and well-known companies advertising.
The government was actively seeking to recruit powerful Evolvers as well!
Chen Fan nodded to himself, recognizing that in this world, strength was the ultimate currency.
Upon opening the door to his home, he found it empty.
The body he inhabited had parents who had divorced early on, leaving his mother to raise him alone.
Glancing at his watch, Chen Fan surmised his mother was still at work, so he retreated to his room by himself.
"Activate the personal panel," he muttered, pressing the eyeball-shaped tattoo on his right arm.
This was the key to entering the Alxemy.
Anyone over the age of eighteen could automatically access it, making it incredibly convenient.
After three seconds, a holographic personal panel materialized.
Name: Shadow
Number: (Sub-Shrine Region) 100484
Physical Body: 10
Spirit: 10
Strength: 10
Agility: 11
Available Attribute Points: 0
Abilities: Fighting (Beginner), Driving (Proficient), Language (Beginner), Cooking (Proficient)
Level: F
"Hmm..."
Chen Fan contemplated his attribute panel.
At a glance, he seemed like a typical Evolver newcomer, with neither his attributes nor his skills standing out.
Yet, Chen Fan was puzzled about the origin of his cooking proficiency.
Surely this body hadn't been relegated to cooking duties for teammates in the Alxemy?
Lost in thought, he suddenly remembered his mother's late-night snack stall and had an epiphany.
Ah...
It was a family tradition!
And the driving proficiency must have been developed through relentless food deliveries, come rain or shine.
At midnight, the tattoo on his right arm began to glow faintly.
Chen Fan settled into a comfortable position and pressed firmly on the tattoo, ready for what lay ahead.
Seconds after being engulfed by a prismatic light, he found himself in a vast square.
The area was teeming with people, buzzing with excitement and activity.
At the center, a massive screen flickered with eye-catching updates:
[Evolver "Sword Immortal" from the Asian Continent has successfully advanced, securing the 97th spot on the Heavenly Leaderboard!]
[Announcement: The three latest dungeons discovered have been preliminarily surveyed. Following a consensus by global experts, they have been designated as the "Star Wars Trilogy".]
...
Information surged like an explosion.
Chen Fan, like the myriad of figures around him, lifted his gaze to the screen, his eyes ablaze with fervor.
"Alxemy, here I come!"
