C7 She Was Disabled

Chen Fan exhaled deeply and said without a word, "What do you understand? If you go over now, what good will it do you? Aren't your people still en route?"

Lu Xuanxin felt a twinge of embarrassment upon hearing this; she hadn't anticipated that Chen Fan would be so well-informed.

Nevertheless, neither of them was a match for this individual. If they were to charge in recklessly, they would likely fare no better. With no other option, they heeded Chen Fan's advice and positioned themselves at the corner, vigilantly observing every move, ready to intervene at a moment's notice.

After a tense standoff, the man in black robes raised his hand in a traditional fist-and-palm salute towards Tan Jingyao and declared, "I am Feng Yuxiu, a junior here to seek your guidance. Today, we shall determine the victor and decide life or death!"

If one were close enough, they could see the sinister look in the man's eyes.

He lowered his hands and simply stared at Tan Jingyao. Without waiting for a response, he leaped onto a large skeleton and stood face to face with Tan Jingyao.

Chen Fan shook his head, his face a picture of awe at their commanding presence.

Feng Yuxiu truly lived up to his reputation; his aura was incomparable to that of an ordinary person.

The scene before them was as if lifted straight from a movie, down to the oversized piece of art and even the identical facial expressions. Had Chen Fan not known better, he might have believed he had stepped into a television drama.

Tan Jingyao pointed at Feng Yuxiu and commanded sharply, "Please step down immediately. That is not a place to be tread upon!"

With a swift jump, Feng Yuxiu sent the skull beneath his feet crashing to the ground, then advanced toward Tan Jingyao, readying himself for combat.

Tan Jingyao also advanced a couple of steps, eyeing Feng Yuxiu with caution.

Seconds later, they both surged forward, leaping into the air, their legs colliding before they each took a step back.

The spectacle was nothing short of breathtaking.

Chen Fan reined in his excitement and turned to Lu Xuanxin, asking, "Tell me, how much longer until your people arrive?"

He had initially planned to take action alone, but after witnessing Feng Yuxiu's formidable abilities, he decided to bide his time and wait for reinforcements.

After all, it was their duty, and if things went south, there would at least be others to handle the aftermath.

Lu Xuanxin checked the time on her phone, her expression fraught with urgency.

"Just a bit longer. Ten minutes!" she said, slipping her phone back into her pocket and turning her attention back to Feng Yuxiu and Tan Jingyao.

"Are we ready to fight now?"

Tan Jingyao sized up Feng Yuxiu, paying particular attention to the disparity in length between his legs.

Discarding his shoes, he remarked icily, "You have one leg shorter than the other, yet you've managed to master your legwork to such an extent. That's quite an achievement!"

He lifted his legs, hands poised on either side, and adopted a combat stance, ready to strike at a moment's notice.

"You're the King of Northern Kicks, and it's your legwork that's being challenged."

Without further ado, they engaged in combat.

Tan Jingyao launched a kick, but Feng Yuxiu, as if anticipating the move, swiftly ducked and leapt beneath the skeleton. Tan Jingyao followed, shattering the skeleton with a kick and charging towards Feng Yuxiu. Feng Yuxiu retreated, evaded, and then spun around to land a solid kick on Tan Jingyao's back.

Tan Jingyao stumbled forward but quickly regained his composure and turned to exchange blows with Feng Yuxiu once more.

Yet his attacks seemed futile; Feng Yuxiu dodged each one with ease.

Feng Yuxiu then stepped back and delivered a direct hit to Tan Jingyao's chest, sending him crashing into a skeleton behind him, both tumbling to the ground.

Chen Fan, witnessing the scene, furrowed his brow and stepped forward.

"Come on, you two. What kind of sparring match is this without an audience?" he chided.

Lu Xuanxin followed close behind, drawing her gun and aiming it at Feng Yuxiu.

Feng Yuxiu, observing the scene and Lu Xuanxin's actions, wore a look of sheer contempt.

He lowered his head and rotated his wrist, his voice icy, "I thought you'd stay hidden a bit longer. Your impatience surprises me. Coming out so recklessly, aren't you afraid I might strike you?"

Feng Yuxiu then lifted his gaze to meet Chen Fan's eyes squarely.

Chen Fan's skin crawled under Feng Yuxiu's intense stare. Never before had he felt a mission to be as daunting as this one.

Feng Yuxiu was far stronger than he had anticipated. He stood no chance against him.

Even combined, Tan Jingyao and Lu Xuanxin might not be a match for him!

But he couldn't just stand by and watch Tan Jingyao die, right?

Tan Jingyao turned his head away from Feng Yuxiu to face Chen Fan and Lu Xuanxin, his voice sharp, "Who told you two to come here? This is my turf, not someplace you can just waltz into. Get out of here, now!"

Chen Fan gave Tan Jingyao a helpless glance and responded, "Big brother, this isn't the time for such talk!"

He understood Tan Jingyao's concern; aware of Feng Yuxiu's formidable strength, he didn't want them dragged into this mess.

But the situation was far from simple. Now that they had seen Feng Yuxiu, there was no way he would let them off the hook!

Was it even up to them to decide whether to stay or go?

Tan Jingyao's mouth opened as if to protest, but he bit back his words and instead turned to face Feng Yuxiu.

"The martial arts contest ends here. I've lost. Can you leave now?"

"That's not going to happen," Feng Yuxiu countered, shaking his head and giving Tan Jingyao a chilling look.

"I've already declared that today we settle scores and determine life or death. How could I possibly go back on my word?"

The disparity in their abilities was stark; he was no match for Feng Yuxiu, and he felt it keenly. Feng Yuxiu was well aware of this, yet he still demanded a fight to the finish. Was he intent on seeing him dead?

Narrowing his eyes as if struck by a sudden thought, Tan Jingyao inquired, "Mairong was murdered today, but the killer's identity remains unknown. To this moment, there's not a single lead. Was it you?"

Feng Yuxiu made no attempt to conceal the truth and simply nodded in confirmation.

Upon witnessing Feng Yuxiu's nod, Lu Xuanxin couldn't contain her frustration and raised her voice sharply, "Why? That's a human life we're talking about. You two don't have any bad blood between you, do you? If there's no feud, then why would you go so far as to put someone in mortal danger?"

"This matter concerns me alone and is none of your business. If you're willing, come at me together. But if you choose not to, then I'll have no choice but to take you down!" Feng Yuxiu declared.

Lu Xuanxin kept her focus on Feng Yuxiu, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice. Yet Feng Yuxiu seemed oblivious to her, showing no sign of evading.

Chen Fan watched the standoff between the two, staying alert and prepared to whisk Tan Jingyao away at any second.

Suddenly, a series of footsteps echoed through the area, and a group of uniformed individuals made their entrance.
