C2 Executing Orders!

Jiang Zhuo didn't rush to approach and recognize his Sixth Sister; instead, he stood on the outskirts of the crowd, taking in the scene.

Peering through the throng of people, he spotted a sign at the courtyard's entrance.

Emblazoned on the sign were the words "Lovely Welfare Institute!"

Somehow, unbeknownst to him, the place had transformed from a simple house of love into a full-fledged welfare institute.

The children peeking out from behind Lau Ruoyan were likely the orphans taken in by the institute.

Just like in the past, these siblings supported one another!

Now, as adults, they hadn't forgotten their roots, opening their arms to children who had lost their parents.

"Please, spare our welfare institute!" Lau Ruoyan pleaded, her voice laced with tears.

Among her six sisters, she was the most delicate.

Plagued by illness since childhood, she still couldn't shake off her pallid complexion, even as an adult.

"This Glorious Real Estate Company has gone too far."

"Indeed, they're trying to flatten this place when no one's watching over the institute."

"These monsters! There are so many kids here—they nearly got them all killed!"

The crowd buzzed with indignation and blame.

The middle-aged man confronting Lau Ruoyan grew more irritable by the second, his sinister eyes sweeping over the onlookers as he barked, "Silence! Anyone looking for trouble can step forward and try their luck!"

The crowd instantly fell silent, their faces blanching with fear, too terrified to even draw a breath.

Seeing their reaction, the man turned back to Lau Ruoyan and said icily, "You have three seconds to take these brats and vanish from my sight, or I won't hold back!"

"We're not scared of you!"

A little boy, around six or seven years old, stood up to the man with eyes full of defiance.

"Yeah! We're not scared of you!"

"Our sisters are strong. If they come back, they'll send you bad guys packing!"

The children behind Lau Ruoyan chimed in, their voices rising in protest.

They might have been young, but they knew it was time to defend their home.

Despite the man's intimidating presence, they held their heads high, refusing to back down.

And when they spoke of their sisters, their pride swelled—they were invincible with their sisters by their side.

The middle-aged man's expression was dark, his gaze icy as he commanded in a deep voice, "Fine! Let's see if you're truly not afraid to die! Get in the vehicle and level this place. If they're foolish enough to stand in our way, run them over!"

"This..."

His henchmen exchanged uneasy glances, uncertain of what to do next.

"Did you not hear me? I'll take full responsibility for any consequences!" he barked furiously.

With no further hesitation, the lackeys scrambled into the excavator's cabin.

The excavator roared to life with a thunderous rumble and began to move.

The middle-aged man smirked and stepped back, convinced that the woman couldn't possibly be fearless in the face of death.

"Please, stop, don't do this!"

Tears streamed down Lau Ruoyan's face as she pleaded, shaking her head in desperation.

But the relentless machine was inching closer by the second.

"Run for it!"

"There's no need to risk your lives when the hills are still green. Why court death?"

"Let them take the orphanage; preserving our lives is what matters!"

The crowd around them shouted, urging them to flee.

The excavator was now less than three meters from Lau Ruoyan and the others, a mere step away from grinding them into pulp.

The operators, showing signs of reluctance, involuntarily slowed down.

"Crush them!" the middle-aged man yelled from below.

Without further hesitation, the excavator pressed on.

Lau Ruoyan's eyes brimmed with despair and helplessness as she clutched the child next to her and closed her eyes, knowing it was too late to run.

"Sister, Zhuo, it looks like Ruoyan won't see you again," she whispered through her tears.

The excavator's roar filled her ears.

But just as it was about to overrun Lau Ruoyan and the others, a figure charged through the crowd, radiating boundless rage, and stood protectively in front of Lau Ruoyan.

"Back off!"

Jiang Zhuo bellowed, his foot connecting with the excavator with such force that the several-ton machine skidded sideways by several meters!

The driver, taken completely by surprise, smashed through the glass and tumbled out of the cabin.

A gasp rippled through the crowd as the scene unfolded, causing a collective shock.

Eyes bulged in disbelief, unable to comprehend what they were witnessing.

Was this man human or a specter?

He was terrifyingly formidable!

Lau Ruoyan's eyelashes quivered lightly as she gradually opened her eyes, her gaze instantly drawn to the imposing figure of the young man before her.

Upon seeing his profile, her eyes clouded over, her consciousness adrift.

More than a decade had passed since their last encounter, and she no longer recognized Jiang Zhuo.

Yet, from him emanated an aura that felt hauntingly familiar.

Jiang Zhuo turned to face Lau Ruoyan, pausing briefly before inquiring, "Are you alright?"

"I... I'm fine," she replied.

Her gaze shifted to the idle excavator and the telltale tracks on the ground, her eyes brimming with astonishment.

"Kid, what's your story?" asked the middle-aged man, his complexion ashen from the shock, as he mustered the courage to confront him.

Jiang Zhuo paid him no mind, instead turning to squat before Lau Ruoyan. His eyes radiated warmth as he gently patted the children's heads, smiling reassuringly, "You were all very brave just now!"

The children's eyes sparkled with curiosity as they gazed at Jiang Zhuo. "Uncle, did you come to rescue us?"

At the term 'uncle,' Jiang Zhuo's eyelids gave a slight twitch, and he corrected with a smile, "Brother, of course, came to save you."

"Um, have we met before?" Lau Ruoyan ventured cautiously after a moment's hesitation.

Jiang Zhuo simply lifted his head to meet her gaze, his smile speaking volumes.

On the other side, the middle-aged man seethed with rage, his eyes brimming with malice. The sting of being disregarded by Jiang Zhuo was far from pleasant.

"Young man! You want to stand up for them? I'd think twice if I were you. I concede you've got some skills, but how can an individual's strength possibly stand against our entire Huihuang Real Estate Company?" he bellowed with fury.

Rising to his feet, Jiang Zhuo's demeanor turned icy. Without a backward glance, he commanded coolly, "Xiaowu, disable his limbs and have him come begging for forgiveness!"

"Yes!"

A young man in the crowd flashed a menacing grin. He rubbed his hands together eagerly as he advanced toward the middle-aged man.

Xiaowu's gaze was predatory, like a hunter zeroing in on his quarry.

"What, what, what are you going to do?"

The middle-aged man's face was a picture of terror; he stumbled backward in a blind panic.

"What am I going to do? I'm simply following orders!"

With a narrowing of his eyes, Xiaowu vanished from his spot.
