"How could we possibly take it upon ourselves to start construction here without your permission?"

Zhu Zhiyong, panic-stricken, scrambled and crawled to kneel at Lin Zhengtian's feet, his voice quivering, "Mr. Lin, you can't blame me for this. I had no idea that Mr. Chung was the owner of this orphanage, let alone his status. If I had known, I wouldn't have dared to touch the orphanage, not for all the courage in the world!"

"Mr. Chung, I'm sorry, so sorry! I should never have interfered with your property, let alone your sister. I beg for your mercy, please let me off!" The bandaged man's voice was raspy, his eyes reflecting sheer desperation.

If Jiang Zhuo decided to enact punishment, his life was surely forfeit today.

Breathing heavily, Lin Zhengtian's chest rose and fell with fury.

Just then, the shrill sound of police sirens filled the air as squad cars raced up the mountain road.

Seconds later, the vehicles came to a halt on the clearing.

Uniformed officers stepped out from the lead car, the foremost being a sharply dressed woman with short hair and refined features.

Her icy gaze swept the area, focusing on Jiang Zhuo and his group.

She strode forward, demanding, "What's going on here? Is this some kind of brawl?"

Lin Zhengtian's brow furrowed as he glanced back, delivering a kick to Zhu Zhiyong and cursing, "You damn fool! Did you actually dare to call the cops?"

Zhu Zhiyong was utterly bewildered and felt unjustly accused. "Mr. Lin, I swear I didn't call the cops!"

Upon seeing the officer, Zhu Zhiyong's tension eased.

He didn't know who had called the police, but he silently offered his thanks in his heart.

With the officer present, Lin Zhengtian wouldn't dare to take any drastic action against him, not in front of law enforcement.

"How dare you assault someone right in front of me?"

The policewoman was incensed. She strode forward, fixing Lin Zhengtian with a fierce glare.

Lin Zhengtian regarded the policewoman, his demeanor slowly becoming serene. "I am Lin Zhengtian of Zhengtian Group. Are you with the Jiangbei City Bureau?"

"The Chairman of Zhengtian Group?"

Her brow furrowed, the policewoman's stance softened somewhat, yet she maintained her firmness. "Regardless of your position as chairman, assaulting someone is against the rules. I don't care how influential you are; since you've assaulted someone today, you'll need to accompany me to the city bureau."

Lin Zhengtian's anger turned to mocking laughter. "You think you can arrest me? Even the city bureau director treats me with the utmost respect!"

"I'm not concerned with how the director treats you. You're involved in a brawl and have intentionally injured someone. You're coming with me to the city bureau," the policewoman declared, standing tall and unafraid, the very picture of righteousness.

"Fine, fine, fine! I'll call your director right now and we'll see what he has to say!" Lin Zhengtian, fuming, pulled out his phone and dialed.

After a brief pause, the call connected, and a confused voice answered, "Mr. Lin, what can I do for you?"

"Director Ma, what kind of operation are you running?" Lin Zhengtian demanded, seething.

"What about my operation? What are you referring to?"

"I have no idea who this woman is, but you need to have her stand down immediately!" Lin Zhengtian shot a cold look at the policewoman and commanded.

"Mr. Lin, hand her the phone. I want to know who has the audacity to upset you," Director Ma instructed.

Without a word, Lin Zhengtian handed his phone to the female officer in front of him.

The officer, without any hesitation, brought the phone to her ear and spoke, "Director Ma! This is Bai Ningshuang."

"Why is it you?" Director Ma inhaled sharply, his voice laced with astonishment.

Officer Bai Ningshuang replied with an icy tone, "Director Ma, I responded to a call about a disturbance at this location. Upon arrival, I personally witnessed the individual claiming to be the chairman of Zhengtian Group inflict severe injuries on someone, who is still vomiting blood as we speak."
