C10 Looking for a Dog

Until with a "thud," Senior Sister tossed Eldest Senior Brother over to us.

Wu Pingfan and Eldest Senior Brother exchanged puzzled glances.

Then they watched as Zhuo Xianqun paced back and forth, repeatedly exclaiming, "This is infuriating, absolutely infuriating!"

"Has Heavenly Shelter Mountain come to stir up trouble again?"

Eldest Senior Brother asked with a detached tone. This was already the fifth time this year that Zhuo Xianqun had publicly tied someone up for a scolding.

Unlike the first time's panic, this time...

His hand, clutching his cup, shook ever so slightly, while the Master beside him sat as still as a statue. He appeared even younger than the Master, yet somehow more composed.

"No," Wu Pingfan replied without emotion, "Actually, it's my dog, Coal, that's gone missing. Senior Sister is really upset. Since you know Starfall Peaks well, she thought you might help me search for him."

Eldest Senior Brother: ?

Zhuo Xianqun snapped, "Only those old thieves from Heavenly Shelter Mountain would steal a dog for no reason. It's a provocation, definitely a provocation. Tomorrow, I'll lead a group to wipe them out."

"The Immortal Master speaks the truth," Eldest Senior Brother chimed in.

He was well aware of the adage that a woman is always right.

"Actually, I know where Coal is..." Wu Pingfan produced an object resembling a compass, plucked a couple of dog hairs from his clothing, placed them on the compass, and watched as it spun before pointing eastward.

"It was indeed the work of Heavenly Shelter Mountain!" Zhuo Xianqun's eyes blazed with fury. That direction pointed straight to their stronghold.

When it comes to Heavenly Shelter Mountain, it's impossible not to mention the decade-long love-hate relationship between the two sects.

Initially, Zhuo Xianqun and the Ancestor of Heavenly Shelter Mountain became enemies over a territorial dispute. After she ate several of their sect's dogs and they retaliated by stealing several of their short skirts, the feud was set in stone.

Wu Pingfan massaged his nose bridge, "According to the compass, Coal is actually doing quite well."

But at that moment, Zhuo Xianqun was beyond reasoning.

Meanwhile, Heavenly Shelter Mountain remained oblivious to the impending disaster about to befall their sect.

Recently, their sect had been visited by a big block dog known for its swindling and gluttony. Each time the dog strutted into the small kitchen, their provisions for half a month would vanish.

Despite this, their elder revered dogs and believed killing one to be inauspicious. Helplessly, they watched as the big block dog devoured three months' worth of food. Eventually, they could no longer bear it and summoned the elder to deal with the thieving canine.

Upon laying eyes on the big block dog, the elder was mesmerized.

"This dog, this dog..."

"This dog is quite the nuisance!" a disciple chimed in.

"This dog has a rather handsome appearance," the elder mused after a pause, finally getting the words out. He moved to pet it but was halted by the dog's scornful look.

Could this dog actually communicate?

"Kid, you dare touch me?"

"Who's speaking?" the disciples asked each other, puzzled.

"Who spoke? I certainly didn't!"

"Was it you?"

"Not me!"

As accusations flew back and forth, only the elder's eager gaze settled on the big block dog.

"This is actually a fourth-tier spirit animal!" the elder exclaimed in awe. "For such an esteemed being to join our sect, we are truly blessed!"

The elder, who usually paid no mind to dogs, bent at the waist for the first time in a gesture of deep respect.

The big block dog let out a satisfied burp and stretched its legs contentedly. "Take me back," it demanded.

"The dog spoke! How extraordinary!" exclaimed the disciple, who was unaccustomed to such wonders.

"May I inquire where the Senior resides?" the elder began, but was interrupted by a disciple rushing over to announce, "Elder, that madwoman from Starfall Peaks is at our gates!"

The two great sects had always been cautious in their dealings, never coming to blows. Could this be a first?

The elder quickly left to confront the challenge. Meanwhile, Wu Pingfan strolled leisurely into the rear entrance of Heavenly Shelter Mountain, still donned in the white disciple's robe of Starfall Peaks. His slight frame made him appear particularly vulnerable.

He sensed Coal's presence nearby but couldn't locate him until a towering figure stood before him, glaring down. "You, the little one, dare to intrude upon Heavenly Ominous Mountain? Do you believe I could cut you down with a single stroke?"

Wu Pingfan's eyes sparkled as the other party, having barely managed to guide qi into their body, brandished a sword in a clumsy stance. Wu walked straight past them, unfazed.

Enraged, the swordsman lunged at Wu Pingfan, but before his blade could strike, it was smacked away, sending him flying.

As Wu Pingfan visited each location, he encountered those who underestimated him, thinking he was an easy target. Over time, this became wearisome.

He recalled his senior sister's words, describing everyone at Starfall Peaks as fools. Without hesitation, he stacked these fools like a mountain of dolls, right up to the main gate.

Before the conflict had even begun, the elder saw his direct disciple rush over, exclaiming, "We've been ambushed! All our disciples have perished!"

The elder's eyes bulged, and in a fit of rage, he bellowed, "Zhuo Xianqun, you resort to underhanded tactics and sneak attacks! You have no honor!"

"And your Starfall Peaks even stole my junior brother's dog. It's only right that you faced defeat!" Zhuo Xianqun clenched her teeth in anger.

From nearby, a familiar voice emerged. Wu Pingfan, patting Coal's rotund belly, remarked, "Coal, you were just hungry, weren't you?"

With two howls, the big block dog trailed behind Wu Pingfan, ready to descend the mountain.

Wu Pingfan halted abruptly, pulling a bottle of pills from his pocket. "You've eaten their food, I need to compensate them for you."

The elder was so touched he was nearly in tears. What a well-behaved child, paying for the dog's meal, even though something seemed amiss.

The disciple wailed, "Ancestor, it was him! He sent all our brothers flying."

The elder paused, then turned and glared at the disciple. "Do you take me for a fool? How could a mere child have such power? Zhuo Xianqun, this matter is beyond us!"

But before he could finish, Zhuo Xianqun had already struck him.

Rumor has it that the little Master single-handedly dealt with everyone at Starfall Peaks. The story spread far and wide, and even Zhuo Xianqun couldn't help but announce it with a refreshed spirit upon her return.

"You must all show even greater respect to the Master than you do to me. He is the golden pillar of our sect, and it's our blessing to be in his presence!"

The individual dubbed the golden pillar wore a look of confusion.

Cradling Coal, the big black dog, he inquired, "What are they saying?"

He couldn't understand a word.

To the fellow disciples, the little Master had once again become a symbol of prosperity.

Following the defeat of Heavenly Shelter Mountain, rumors spread that a reclusive master had emerged from Starfall Peaks. This master was immensely powerful, capable of lifting mountains with a single finger and blowing away a heavenly realm heavyweight with just a breath. Even Zhuo Xianqun had to submit to his miraculous powers.

Not even a glimpse of his power was revealed!

Upon hearing this, the other sect elders were incensed.

"Zhuo Xianqun didn't even show his power! That person is utterly outrageous."

From that point on, the little Master found himself beset with an array of new troubles.
