C11 Selling Body

Qu Ningyuan stormed into the manager's office, seething with anger. Upon seeing Hee Qingqing there, her smile gave away the whole situation to Qu Ningyuan. He asked Hee Qingqing to step out and began a private conversation with the manager.

"Manager, this isn't fair. Wasn't I supposed to handle the Hainan project by myself? Why is Zhang Zhiwen suddenly involved? If the project is a success, whose achievement is it?"

"Hold on, don't rush. CEO Yang mentioned that he reviewed Zhang Zhiwen's proposal before yours. So, technically, the success could be attributed to Zhang Zhiwen."

"Well, if Zhang Zhiwen is so competent, let him take full responsibility. I've written the plan, but there are still some flaws I haven't ironed out. Let CEO Yang go ahead with Zhang Zhiwen's plan."

Qu Ningyuan was aware that Zhang Zhiwen had plagiarized his plan, yet there were nuances only he grasped. They might not have been critical, but without his guidance, the project would face more challenges.

"Qu, don't be like that. Zhang Zhiwen's involvement doesn't mean you're out of the project. How about a compromise? Zhang Zhiwen can handle the negotiations with CEO Yang, given his experience and impressive track record. You've drafted an excellent plan, so you can oversee the later stages. Both of you will share the credit."

This cunning old fox was making me a pawn. It was clear to anyone who looked closely that Zhang Zhiwen had stolen my work, yet he was getting all the credit. I couldn't swallow my pride over this. I was determined to take down Zhang Zhiwen. I had to rise from the very place I'd been tripped up. I refused to give up.

Clearly, Hee Qingqing had been stirring things up behind the scenes. To topple Zhang Zhiwen, I'd have to handle Hee Qingqing first, or I'd always be one step behind. But what spell had Zhang Zhiwen cast on Hee Qingqing to earn such unwavering devotion? She was steadfastly by his side, come what may.

Hee Qingqing was hopelessly in love. She had fallen for Zhang Zhiwen back in their university days, when he was the charismatic president of the student union and the dream guy of countless girls. Yet, Hee Qingqing loved him in silence, never daring to confess her feelings.

Later, after graduating and joining a company, Zhang Zhiwen became aware of some under-the-table dealings between Hee Qingqing and the manager. Seizing the opportunity, he wooed Hee Qingqing with sweet nothings and she, irrevocably in love, fell for this scoundrel, Zhang Zhiwen.

It's frightening how love can blind a person. Anyone with a shred of sense could see Zhang Zhiwen's insincerity. And yet, this scumbag had the undying affection of a woman like Hee Qingqing. Meanwhile, I'm left wondering where my own girlfriend is, as all the world's fortunes seem to favor Zhang Zhiwen.

Navigating the professional world is no easy feat, and life is just as challenging. To secure my place, I need to step up my game. I can't deny my role in the mess I'm in—if only I had been more diligent and kept a closer eye on this project, things might not have spiraled out of control.

The Heaven's Eye has been a significant asset to me, but it's also made me overly arrogant. This issue isn't resolved yet, and I'm determined to turn things around.

Zhang Zhiwen, upon learning that Qu Ningyuan was getting close to Director Yang's daughter, Yang Xue, began plotting. Yang Xue wasn't just involved in this project; her family's company, Radiant Enterprise, is a major player in the industry. This project could lead to many more business opportunities.

Therefore, it was crucial to prevent Qu Ningyuan and Yang Xue from getting together. Better yet, if they became adversaries. If Qu Ningyuan crossed Yang Xue, he'd essentially be crossing Radiant Enterprise. Offending such an industry titan would spell disaster for him, and the company would not stand by Qu Ningyuan, the thorn in their side.

Qu Ningyuan was acutely aware of his precarious position, with danger looming on all sides. His only lifeline was Yang Xue, and he knew he had to cling to her support.

Realizing it had been a day since he last reached out, Qu Ningyuan pulled out his phone and sent Yang Xue a message, inviting her to dinner that evening.

It took a while before Qu Ningyuan received a response saying she was unavailable that evening. He suspected Yang Xue was reluctant to meet him, but couldn't pinpoint what had upset her. He knew he'd only understand once he saw her in person.

With no other option, Qu Ningyuan persistently messaged her, insisting he had an urgent matter to discuss and pleading for her to make time that night. His earnestness and apparent urgency convinced Yang Xue it was a significant issue, so she reluctantly agreed.

Qu Ningyuan was confident she would consent, realizing he needed to buy gifts to cheer her up. Yang Xue was generally amiable, but her temper could flare, demanding others to appease her before she would calm down.

Being involved with Yang Xue felt akin to being indebted to her. Yet, considering her beauty and the substantial support her wealthy family could offer, Qu Ningyuan felt it was a fair exchange. For the time being, this was his only course of action.

That evening, after cooking dinner for his sister, Qu Ningyuan set out to meet Yang Xue at the agreed location. On his way, he reflected on his predicament, feeling cornered. Despite possessing the Heaven's Eye, he was outmaneuvered by Hee Qingqing and Zhang Zhiwen. He needed a strategy to change the dynamics.

Before leaving, Qu Ningyuan decided to pick up a gift for Yang Xue. Unsure of what to get, he thought flowers might be a safe choice, remembering how pleased she was last time. Most girls liked flowers, after all. At the florist, however, he hesitated, wondering what type of flowers were appropriate since their relationship was more than friendship but not quite romantic.

"What kind of flowers would you like, handsome?" the florist asked.

"I want to give them to a girl, but roses seem too direct. Could you suggest something else?" Qu Ningyuan replied.

"If you're steering clear of roses, how about these lilies? They've just arrived and are in perfect bloom. Lilies symbolize nobility and elegance, which many girls appreciate," the florist recommended.

"Isn't this lily color a bit too pale? It doesn't seem vibrant enough, almost too indifferent."

"It's perfect as it is. This shade is just right. Any more intense and it would be too overpowering, like the color of roses – that would be too much. This color is ideal."

"Okay then, just make sure it's wrapped nicely."

"Understood. Rest assured, it will be."
