C1 Betrayal

In Mutian City, outside a room at the Dream's Destiny Hotel, Xiao Hee stood frozen. The sight before him threatened to shatter his sanity.

Inside, a man and a woman lay naked on the bed, their heavy breathing and soft moans echoing in Xiao Hee's ears.

His gaze was fixed on the woman on the bed, his wife, Zhang Qian, who was now entwined with a stranger. Steam billowed from his nostrils as rage consumed him.

"Xiao... Xiao Hee? What are you doing here?"

Zhang Qian's eyes widened in alarm upon seeing her husband. The shock of being caught by him sent her into a frenzy.

"It was me who told him we were here. I wanted this spineless fool to give up on you sooner!" the stranger declared, a cold sneer mixed with anger on his face. Xiao Hee's untimely intrusion had spoiled his pleasure.

"Zhang Qian, tell me, why would you do this to me? Haven't I treated you well enough this past year? I've scrimped and saved just to buy you clothes and makeup, and this is how you repay me—with betrayal?"

Xiao Hee's anger peaked, a murderous glint in his eyes barely contained.

"Pfft!" Zhang Qian scoffed, her lips curling in contempt. "Buying me clothes and makeup? Those tacky market stall items? I wouldn't be caught dead in them. See that mink coat over there? That's from my new husband. Your entire year's salary wouldn't even cover a fraction of its cost. I'm done with your pathetic poverty!"

After her initial shock, Zhang Qian's true colors surfaced, unabashedly referring to the man in bed as her 'husband', right in front of Xiao Hee, her lawful spouse.

"All for some filthy money? That's why you betrayed me? You're nothing but a whore!"

Xiao Hee's laugh was bitter, his face etched with the sting of betrayal.

"Who are you calling a whore?" Zhang Qian snapped back, incensed.

"Let it go, darling. Why lower yourself by arguing with this trash? It's beneath you."

A stranger wrapped his arms around Zhang Qian, and Xiao Hee's wife was now in another man's embrace right before his eyes—a monumental disgrace for him.

Zhang Qian reciprocated the stranger's embrace, her demeanor overtly seductive. She occasionally cast mocking glances at Xiao Hee, her eyes brimming with scorn.

"Adulterers! You two are truly a match made in heaven, a pair of despicable cheats!" Xiao Hee's face contorted with anger as he stared down the shameless couple.

"Watch your tone, Xiao Hee. I've given you quite the show today; you ought to be on your knees, thanking me for this favor! From what I understand, you've been married to Zhang Qian for a year and haven't so much as kissed her, let alone shared a bed. What a pathetic excuse for a man!" Lin Qi sneered at Xiao Hee.

Xiao Hee's expression turned to ice upon hearing these words. Lin Qi was right; he had been married to Zhang Qian for a year, and she had never allowed him to touch her. Out of love and respect for her, he had honored her wishes.

"Enough. If you've had your fill, then leave. And from now on, keep your distance from my woman, or you'll have me to answer to," Lin Qi said coldly, with a hint of disdain.

"One day, Zhang Qian, you'll regret everything you've done today," Xiao Hee said, his voice as cold as his glare.

Zhang Qian just scoffed at his words. Regret? She had finally managed to secure a relationship with a wealthy heir—why would she have any regrets? If Xiao Hee hadn't been so good-looking, she never would have bothered with someone as poor as him.

Indeed, Xiao Hee was known throughout the university for his poverty. Apart from his handsome face, he was considered utterly worthless.

"So, you're Lin Qi?" Xiao Hee asked, turning around, his demeanor still frosty. The day's events had stoked a fiery rage within him.

"Oh, so the loser knows who I am?" Lin Qi scoffed.

"You'll regret this," Xiao Hee said, his icy gaze sweeping past.

"Let's get a divorce!"

Xiao Hee inhaled deeply, the weight of those words bearing down on him like iron.

"Obviously!"

Zhang Qian let out a cold snort. Having made up her mind to be with Lin Qi, she had long intended to end her marriage with Xiao Hee.

Half an hour later, they went their separate ways at the Civil Affairs Bureau.

"Hehe, Xiao Hee, who would've thought you'd see this day?"

Xiao Hee gave a self-deprecating chuckle and shook his head in resignation.

While he was still reflecting on the turn of events, his phone pinged with an incoming message.

"The three-year term has expired. Effective immediately, Xiao Hee, scion of the Heaven lineage, is released from restrictions and regains control of his wealth!"

Xiao Hee couldn't conceal his elation as he read the message. Today, he had not only finalized his divorce but also reclaimed his financial independence!

Indeed, Xiao Hee was none other than a Super Rich Second Generation. Three years prior, he had undertaken his family's challenge, resulting in all his assets being frozen while he attended university as an ordinary student.

Now, as a newly single man with his fortune restored, it meant he was ready to make waves once more.
