C8 It's You
"Wu Feng!"
Lee Momo waved toward Wu Feng's direction.
However, when Lin Yueer and her two friends caught sight of Chen Feng and Zhang Qi, their initial excitement and warmth vanished as if doused by a bucket of cold water.
In terms of their attire and appearance, both men were quite plain.
Even if being handsome or wealthy were the only criteria, these two ordinary guys were far from catching their interest.
"Why are there only three of you? Isn't there one more?"
Momo asked, sensing the dampened spirits of her friends. It seemed they weren't too impressed with the roommates Wu Feng had brought along.
"Xiao Hee went to the restroom; he'll be back shortly. Aside from everything else, Xiao Hee is really handsome—he's the heartthrob of our dorm," Wu Feng quipped.
He could tell that Momo's roommates were clearly not taken with Zhang Qi and Chen Feng.
As expected, the mention of Xiao Hee's good looks sparked some curiosity in Lin Yueer and the others.
"Really? Is he even more handsome than you?" the tallest girl teased.
"Absolutely. I'm no match for him in the looks department," Wu Feng replied, patting his chest. He wouldn't boast about much, but Xiao Hee was definitely campus crush material, with his only flaw being his less-than-stellar fashion sense.
"Is that so? Now I'm genuinely intrigued," another girl chimed in, her interest piqued. They had all been let down by Chen Feng and Zhang Qi, so now their hopes were pinned on Xiao Hee.
"Don't worry, Ling Ling, Lil Yu. If Wu Feng says so, he won't disappoint you," Momo teased, amused by their eager anticipation.
Being more handsome than Wu Feng, Xiao Hee must be quite the campus crush.
Cai Ling and Chen Feng, Huang Yuyi and Zhang Qi engaged in conversation.
Clearly, Cai Ling and Huang Yuyi weren't too keen on chatting, but they made an effort to be polite for Wu Feng and Momo's sake, to keep the atmosphere from turning awkward.
Chen Feng and Zhang Qi, though quite the chatterboxes in private, turned into stammering messes in the presence of girls. They were lively enough on their own, but put them in front of the ladies, and they couldn't even manage a normal conversation, let alone make the girls laugh.
Lin Yueer, on the other hand, wasn't the least bit interested in Chen Feng or Xiao Hee. Her thoughts were elsewhere; she was eager to meet Xiao Hee and move past her disappointment.
"Yueer, what are you up to? You've been staring at the washroom entrance for ages. Xiao Hee hasn't even shown up yet, and he's already stolen your soul," Momo joked.
At that, Lin Yueer's cheeks flushed with a shy crimson. "What are you talking about?" she stammered, embarrassed.
The group burst into laughter at the exchange. Cai Ling and Huang Yuyi could empathize with Lin Yueer's feelings; they too had felt a twinge of disappointment upon meeting Chen Feng and Zhang Qi. Now, they were curious to see if Xiao Hee lived up to Wu Feng's hype.
Just then, Xiao Hee emerged from the washroom.
"Old Xiao, over here!" Wu Feng called out, waving him over.
"Is that you?" Lin Yueer and Huang Yuyi exclaimed in unison, their eyes wide with astonishment. They hadn't expected the Xiao Hee they'd been so curious about to be the same loser they'd seen scavenging leftovers in the cafeteria.
Xiao Hee was equally taken aback. These two girls clearly knew him, but he couldn't place them.
"Do you two know Old Xiao?" Wu Feng asked, surprised by their reaction.
"Know him? Pfft!" Lin Yueer couldn't contain her laughter. "Of course, we do. Who at Feng Yun University doesn't?"
Wu Feng sensed something was off from Lin Yueer's tone. It turned out that the news of Xiao Hee being cuckolded by Zhang Qian had spread like wildfire across Feng Yun University that morning. The story was the talk of every campus group, and Xiao Hee's photo had been widely circulated.
Naturally, the rapid spread of the news was fueled by Lin Qi's behind-the-scenes efforts. He wanted Xiao Hee to be thoroughly disgraced, unable to show his face again.
"Yueer, what's really happening here? Is he that famous?"
Lee Momo looked on with confusion. She had occasionally heard about Xiao Hee, but it was always in passing, and she never gave it much thought. The name Xiao Hee didn't leave a strong impression on her.
"Momo, you're not aware, are you? This guy is the same loser I mentioned before—the one who scavenges for leftovers in the cafeteria and whose wife cheated on him."
Lin Yueer flashed a mocking smile.
"No way!"
Hearing this, Lee Momo was taken aback. She could hardly believe that Wu Feng's roommate was actually Xiao Hee.
