C20 Magic Treasure's Fragment
In a fleeting moment, Ye Tian's Divine Sense unfurled, sweeping across each area in search of clues.
Unlike mere sight, Divine Sense could penetrate through any material—brick, metal, or flesh. Bathed in its revealing light, no hidden object could remain concealed, no secret could stay buried.
A cultivator at the Nascent Soul Stage could extend their Divine Sense to shroud an entire planet, leaving no corner of the world untouched.
"Aha, so that's where it was hidden!"
Half an hour later, Ye Tian emerged in the courtyard, a mischievous smile playing at the corners of his mouth as he eyed the brick wall before him.
With a swift gesture, he extracted a green brick from the wall, revealing a small cavity that housed a pale golden fragment, no larger than half a palm.
"A fragment of a Magic Treasure."
Weighing the fragment in his hands, Ye Tian's eyes sparkled with intrigue.
A Daoist Cultivator's journey wasn't limited to self-improvement; it also involved the art of pill and weapon refinement. Pills varied in grade, as did weapons. Within the Square Inch Spirit Domain, the artifacts crafted by cultivators were categorized into four major realms: Heavy Weapon, Spirit Weapon, Magic Treasure, Immortal Artifact, and Divine Artifact.
Heavy Weapons were the exceedingly durable arms of the mundane world.
Spirit Weapons, on the other hand, were divine instruments nurtured by nature itself, enhancing a cultivator's prowess exponentially when wielded.
Magic Treasures embodied the laws of the cosmos, their might unmatched. When activated, they could transform an entire ocean into a blazing inferno.
Immortal Artifacts, crafted from enigmatic and profound substances, were capable of developing sentience.
Ye Tian's own Pill Furnace, an Immortal Artifact, could contain a planet within its confines, its flames potent enough to reduce that planet to cinders.
Divine Artifacts, however, were the stuff of legends, known to Ye Tian only through hearsay in the Square Inch Spirit Domain, never witnessed firsthand.
"The craftsmanship of this fragment is quite remarkable."
After examining the pale golden piece, Ye Tian's conviction grew. It was indeed a remnant of a shattered Magic Treasure, and if his senses were correct, a fragment of a flying sword. In its prime, the Magic Treasure must have been of exceptional quality, perhaps nearing that of a Half-immortal Weapon.
To find such an artifact on Earth was astonishing!
The discovery left Ye Tian astounded, but it also shed light on why the Eagle Claw Sect's Sect Leader had pursued Qin Xuanming.
Despite being a mere fragment, its edge and resilience were beyond the ordinary. Particularly noteworthy was the latent power within; if harnessed correctly, its unleashed force could not be taken lightly.
Naturally, should he manage to gather the necessary materials to restore the fragment, its power would be unparalleled.
Possessing a Half-immortal Weapon would grant him dominion over the Square Inch Spirit Domain, not to mention supremacy on Earth.
"This piece will make a fine weapon indeed!"
Holding the flying sword fragment, Ye Tian channeled a trace of Magic Power into it. With a light stroke across the green brick, which then split cleanly in two, he nodded with satisfaction.
Though small, this fragment promised a significant boost to his combat capabilities.
Having secured the flying sword fragment, Ye Tian retreated to his room. There, he sat cross-legged, resting through meditation.
As dawn broke the next day, he rose only after absorbing the morning's first surge of Spiritual Energy, then proceeded to freshen up in the bathroom.
He had PE today and needed to head to school.
After breakfast, Ye Tian hurried to the sports field, finding his classmates already assembled.
"Ye, what's up with you? You look taller. And thinner? You're looking sharper, man."
Shi Xiong clapped Ye Tian on the shoulder, then squinted and frowned, sensing something amiss. He scrutinized Ye Tian and asked, suspicion etched on his face.
"Have I ever not been handsome? You probably just never noticed."
Ye Tian quipped, a playful smile lifting his eyebrows.
"Do you really seem taller to me?"
Shi Xiong was at a loss for words, scratching his head in bewilderment.
"Could be your imagination. Did you practice those Secret Scriptures I showed you yesterday?"
Ye Tian grinned, deftly steering the conversation.
"Absolutely!" Shi Xiong nodded enthusiastically, his spirits high. "I'll tell you, after practicing, I slept like a log last night and woke up full of energy this morning."
"Keep at it."
Ye Tian's chuckle was light.
Body tempering was incredibly beneficial. A healthy body meant good sleep, good food, and high spirits.
"No worries." Shi Xiong nodded emphatically, then his expression shifted as he mumbled, "Why are we having class with them today?"
Ye Tian's gaze quickly found a group approaching, with Hsu Qing in their midst.
University PE often combined two classes.
Today, it was Ye Tian's and Hsu Qing's classes together.
"Don't let a woman get to you."
Shi Xiong gave Ye Tian a complex look and a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
"She is her own person, and I am mine. We have no ties left."
Ye Tian's response was even-keeled.
Shi Xiong gave him a surprised glance.
Ye Tian used to pine for Hsu Qing. He'd have been thrilled to share a class with her. Why the sudden indifference today?
Had Hsu Qing truly wounded him that deeply?
With this thought, Shi Xiong couldn't resist glancing over at Hsu Qing and to his astonishment, found her gazing at Ye Tian.
It used to be Ye Tian who watched Hsu Qing, while she feigned ignorance.
"Ye, she's acting odd today, why is she staring at you?"
Shi Xiong nudged Ye Tian and whispered urgently.
"Who she chooses to watch is her business, not mine."
Ye Tian's tone was detached, his eyes never straying to Hsu Qing.
What was going on with these two?
Shi Xiong was baffled.
Just then, the sports teacher blew the whistle, calling the classes to attention.
"Today we're continuing with basketball. Last time, I taught you dribbling and shooting. Now, let's have a match between classes to put those skills to the test."
The students gathered, and the sports teacher surveyed them with a beaming smile.
Basketball match!
At the announcement, the boys from both classes perked up.
College was the time for boundless energy and a love for the limelight. Who wouldn't want to impress in a basketball game, especially with the girls watching?
"Boys first, five per team. This is about class honor, so let's have a good game!"
The PE teacher took the scene in stride, chuckling as he announced, "Class Three, brace yourselves for a loss!"
No sooner had the words left the PE teacher's mouth than Hsu Qing and her male classmates turned their gaze to Ye Tian's group, their eyes twinkling with mockery.
The boys from Ye Tian's class felt their faces flush with embarrassment and awkwardness upon hearing the taunt. They were Mandarin students, with only a handful of boys among them, most of whom were bespectacled scholars.
Literature and calligraphy were their strong suits, not basketball.
In contrast, Hsu Qing's class was Engineering Class 4, brimming with boys and only a few girls. Finding someone adept at basketball was a breeze for them, especially since they boasted three school team players in their ranks.
"Engineering Class 4 sure talks a big game," Shi Xiong shot back. "Just make sure you don't end up crying for your mommy during the game."
Faang Peng from Engineering Class 4, arms crossed over his chest, sneered down at Shi Xiong with a look of contempt.
Shi Xiong's expression soured, and he was itching to snap back.
"Enough chatter from both sides. Pick your players and let's get this game started!" the PE teacher intervened, gesturing for them to move along.
Shi Xiong, still seething, turned to Ye Tian and said, "Ye Tian, let's team up. We can't let Engineering Class 4 get away with their cockiness."
