C19 A Plan to Earn Money
Jiang Hua felt a deep sense of gratitude and admiration for Yang Ling. He quickly grabbed his girlfriend's hand and hurried to keep up with him.
Throughout the entire encounter, Yang Ling hadn't given Chen Ping a single glance. She might as well have been a ghost, utterly invisible to him.
Chen Ping's anger left her face ghostly pale. She alternated between staring at Yang Ling's retreating figure and the overweight man beside her, oscillating between rage and regret. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
Yang Ling, indifferent to the gold-digging woman's thoughts, made up an excuse to dismiss Jiang Hua's girlfriend. As they walked, he casually asked, "How's life been treating you lately?"
Hearing the question, Jiang Hua let out a wry laugh. "What can I say, Brother Yang? With no education or skills, what can a guy like me really do?" His tone had shifted, a subtle change in how he addressed Yang Ling.
"Thanks for today, Brother Yang. Don't worry, I'll definitely pay back the eight thousand," Jiang Hua said, still wearing a bitter smile.
Yang Ling chuckled and shook his head. "There's no rush for the money. Pay me back when you're able to."
Changing the subject, Yang Ling inquired, "So, Dajiang, what's your plan for the future?"
Jiang Hua grimaced. "Just taking it one step at a time."
Then, as if struck by a sudden thought, Jiang Hua asked with curiosity, "Brother Yang, it looks like you're doing pretty well for yourself. What do you say to me tagging along with you?"
"I'll go wherever you say—east or west, it doesn't matter!"
Yang Ling regarded the young man thoughtfully. His help today was rooted in brotherhood, but he also had his own motives.
After a brief pause, Yang Ling spoke earnestly, "I'm looking to make money, though it might all be for nothing. If you're serious about joining me, be sure you're ready for it."
Jiang Hua realized Yang Ling wasn't kidding. His expression grew serious, and he nodded vigorously. "If you need more capital, I'll find a way to get it from my family. Just tell me, Brother Yang, what's your plan?"
"Ding! You've just fulfilled Jiang Hua's wish to start a business with you. Wish Value +1."
"Current progress: 8/10."
A smile spread across Yang Ling's face upon hearing the System's alert. It confirmed that Jiang Hua was genuinely interested in partnering with him.
His best friend might not have had the best grades, but that didn't mean he lacked intelligence. In fact, he was quite clever and had his own set of skills.
Knowing he needed a reliable assistant to make money, Yang Ling saw Jiang Hua as the perfect choice.
With a grin, Yang Ling clapped him on the shoulder and said, "Here's what I'll do: I'll give you two thousand yuan as start-up capital. Take a look around for a shop space for us."
"Once you find a shop, I'll handle the negotiations for the transfer price."
Jiang Hua, taken aback, asked, "Brother Yang, what kind of shop are you planning to open?"
"Do you have any specific requirements for the shop's location and size?"
Pleased with the questions, Yang Ling realized Jiang Hua was no fool. While transferring the two thousand yuan to him, Yang Ling explained, "I've already decided on the type of shop. Don't worry about the finances; just focus on finding the right place."
"Anywhere between fifty to a hundred square meters will do. Ideally, the location should be good, but it's not a dealbreaker if it isn't."
Jiang Hua nodded confidently. "Consider it done in three days."
"Great."
Yang Ling gave his shoulder another pat and added, "We'll discuss your salary and benefits once you've secured the shop."
"I've got to run; there's more I need to take care of."
Jiang Hua watched Yang Ling walk away, his mind a whirl of thoughts. Yang Ling hadn't changed, yet there was something different about him. He seemed more composed, exuding the aura of a leader.
Yang Ling was both impressed and, deep down, a bit intimidated...
