C3 Hee Liang, 99 Points!!

Senior Year, Class 2 was eerily silent!

The students' immediate thought was, "Has Hee Liang lost his mind?"

For three months, they'd watched his decline firsthand!

Valedictorian?

How could he even suggest such a thing?

Guo Lin felt challenged. Could this failure really dare to wager with him on who would be top of the class?

His anger turned to laughter, his voice rising, "Fine, you want to bet, let's bet!"

"You're always at the bottom of the class, yet you dare challenge me?"

Zhao Ruobing frowned, stepped forward, and commanded coldly, "Guo Lin, back to your seat!"

She feared he might say something that would wound Hee Liang deeply.

Guo Lin retreated to his seat, his face stormy. He turned to Hee Liang and huffed, "Remember our bet!"

Hee Liang picked up the black marker from the desk and declared,

"My word is my bond!"

The exam commenced!

Calmly, Hee Liang began filling in the answers.

The content of the first question was obscure, yet Hee Liang answered it instantly.

Then, he swiftly penned the answer to the second question.

"Question 13, A!"

"Question 14, C!"

Hee Liang was confident in the accuracy of his responses.

The test was forty minutes long, but it took Hee Liang just twenty-six minutes to complete!

He capped his pen, his eyes sweeping over the filled-in answer sheet, his heart heavy with sentiment.

Guo Lin had two questions left. He caught Hee Liang's vacant gaze and smirked derisively, "You truly are worthless!"

Hee Liang wasn't working on the test anymore!

Guo Lin thought smugly to himself.

"You're nothing but trash now. What makes you think you can compete with me?"

"Loser!"

Initially, the class buzzed with excitement over Hee Liang and Guo Lin's bet.

But the excitement quickly faded to boredom.

Hee Liang, just as before, had stopped writing halfway through the test and wasn't answering any more questions.

"Were you just talking big?" Zhao Ruobing looked at Hee Liang, her disappointment evident.

She had hoped Hee Liang would show some change, but as it turned out, he remained as disengaged as ever.

Time ticked away.

The abrupt ring of the bell caused the students to raise their eyebrows in surprise.

"Time's up!" Zhao Ruobing announced, standing up.

Regret was etched on the faces of many students who hadn't managed to finish their exams.

Eventually, all the test papers were collected by Zhao Ruobing.

"Teacher!" Guo Lin suddenly stood, addressing Zhao Ruobing with urgency.

"What is it?" Zhao Ruobing asked, her brow furrowed.

"Hee Liang claims he's changed. How about grading his and my test papers first?" Guo Lin suggested, casting a derisive glance at Hee Liang, barely containing his eagerness to see him embarrassed.

Zhao Ruobing turned to Hee Liang.

"Alright." Hee Liang replied, his demeanor serene as he nodded.

After a moment's consideration, Zhao Ruobing agreed.

The classroom buzzed with excitement.

Some students were so captivated that they even resisted the call of nature!

Curiosity piqued, they watched Hee Liang, baffled by his confidence yet filled with a strange sense of expectation.

What score had Hee Liang achieved?

Zhao Ruobing sifted through the stack of papers and began grading those of Hee Liang and Guo Lin.

Her face was initially impassive, but as she progressed, her expression shifted to one of surprise.

The students tensed, wondering if Hee Liang had indeed turned over a new leaf.

Despite three months having passed, they vividly remembered Hee Liang's streak of top scores.

Zhao Ruobing paused her pen and looked up.

The room fell silent, everyone awaiting her verdict.

"Guo Lin, you aced the multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions, but there were minor errors in the last three. Your total score is 93 points—well done."

The tension in the room dissolved.

Smirks spread across several faces.

"Hee Liang may have had good grades before, but he's not the student he once was!"

"Plus, with three months away from his studies, there's no way he scored well!"

The room was abuzz with speculation, their gazes toward Hee Liang a mix of mockery and sympathy.

Scoring a 93 is an exceptionally high achievement!

How on earth could Hee Liang's scores surpass Guo Lin's?

"Hee Liang, if you concede now, you'll only have to clean the classroom for two months," Guo Lin said, casting a derisive glance at Hee Liang.

"There's no need," Hee Liang replied coolly, his piercing gaze fixed on Zhao Ruobing.

"Teacher, could you grade my exam, please?"

Zhao Ruobing gave Hee Liang a nod, though she harbored little hope.

Yet, as she started grading his paper, her expression suddenly turned to stone.

He had gotten every single multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank question right!

A jolt went through her.

"Just luck?" She vehemently shook her head. It was plausible for luck to play a part in multiple-choice, but fill-in-the-blank questions too?

Zhao Ruobing pressed on with grading Hee Liang's exam.

Even his true or false answers were spot on!

She paused, pen in hand. Hee Liang had already racked up sixty points!

Out of the corner of her eye, Zhao Ruobing glanced at the last three questions.

The answer sheet was completely filled—no space was left blank!

Three minutes later, Zhao Ruobing set her pen down, her delicate features registering utter astonishment.

"How could this be?"

Hee Liang's responses were nearly identical to the answer key!

Had she not been meticulous in her grading, he would have scored perfectly!

She stood up abruptly, her composure shattered.

"Hee Liang, ninety-nine points!"

Her voice echoed through every corner of the classroom.

A hush fell over the class.

"Ninety-nine points?" They were dumbfounded.

"A perfect score is one hundred, and he scored ninety-nine?"

"Not even the Hee Liang of the past could have managed that!"

Incredulity washed over them as they all turned to look at Hee Liang.

He remained serene, a hint of a smile playing on his lips—as if he had anticipated his score all along!

Zhao Ruobing was equally stunned. If not for her stringent grading that led her to dock Hee Liang a single point, he would have achieved a perfect score!

In her three years of teaching, she had never encountered a student who aced a biology exam!

The bell marking the beginning of the second session of evening self-study echoed through the classroom, yet the room was a cauldron of chaos, the din growing ever louder.

Ten seconds later, Zhao Ruobing snapped back to reality. She smacked the blackboard sharply and commanded, "Class, I need quiet, please!"

"It's got to be a joke!"

"How on earth did he get 99 points?"

Guo Lin's expression was dark, his body shaking incessantly. The thought of Hee Liang outscoring him was inconceivable.
