C4 You Can't Afford to Lose!?

In the hush of the room, Guo Lin's eyes suddenly narrowed, and he fixed a venomous stare on Hee Liang.

"He absolutely cheated!" he snarled, his face contorted with rage as he glared at Hee Liang.

How on earth could Hee Liang have scored a 99?

It was unthinkable, not just for Hee Liang as he was now, but even for his past self—it was simply impossible!

His gaze icy, Guo Lin confronted Hee Liang, his voice seething with anger, "Hee Liang, did you cheat?"

"Can't handle losing?"

Hee Liang responded coolly, his words catching Guo Lin off guard and sending a flush of red across his face.

"If losing is too much for you, just say the word. You don't have to sweep the classroom until the college entrance exams are over. A month of cleaning will suffice," Hee Liang offered, a smirk playing on his lips.

The insult cut deep, leaving Guo Lin at a loss for words.

"I'll clean the classroom!" he finally growled, his voice a low rumble.

If looks could kill, Hee Liang would have been slain hundreds of times over by Guo Lin's piercing glare.

Yet, Hee Liang remained unfazed, offering only a slight, indifferent smile.

"I will reclaim everything I've lost!"

"This biology test is just the beginning."

The evening study session was unusually quiet, but beneath the surface, the entire class was reeling in shock.

A peculiar tension filled the air of the quiet classroom, lingering until the bell signaled the end of class.

Alone, Hee Liang left the room, heading toward the library.

"I need to quickly master the knowledge I've missed. I can't rely solely on the Almighty Working System," he whispered to himself, taking a deep breath.

Intent on borrowing some biology materials, he was preparing himself for the Grand Plan.

As he rounded a corner, the sound of a man and a woman talking stopped him in his tracks—the voices sounded familiar.

"Mengtong!"

He crept closer, their conversation growing clearer.

"Hasn't my second uncle been missing for three months now?"

"Mengtong, your family's Rexton Factory is on the brink of bankruptcy," the man said, his voice dripping with arrogance.

Hee Liang recognized the voice as that of Lee Xu, the current top student in their grade.

"The Lee family promised me that if I secure a spot in the Grand Plan, they'll bail out Rexton Factory," Chen Mengtong said, her voice tinged with desperation as she bit her red lip.

"Secured a spot in the Grand Plan?" Lee Xu scoffed.

"Mengtong, do you think your family's Rexton Factory can hold out for another month?"

"And even if it does, are you truly confident you'll secure a place in the Grand Plan?"

Chen Mengtong remained silent.

She was the unrecognized daughter of D City's Lee family's Second Patriarch.

While the Second Patriarch was present, he had established the Rexton Factory for her and her mother, providing them with a comfortable life.

But with his disappearance three months ago, the Rexton Factory was teetering on the edge of collapse.

The factory simply couldn't fail!

If it did, her mother, suffering from a peculiar illness, would never heal.

Lee Xu cast a sidelong glance at Chen Mengtong, then said coolly, "Young Master Hong has his eye on you. Agree to be his girlfriend, and your troubles disappear."

He was convinced Chen Mengtong was trapped with no escape.

Her mother, Chen Qianqian, had been afflicted with a rare disease a year ago, with treatment costs soaring to at least 50,000 RMB a month.

Without the Rexton Factory, survival was out of the question!

Tears welled in Chen Mengtong's eyes, her frame shaking.

"Becoming Young Master Hong's girlfriend would greatly benefit the Lee family too!"

"Mengtong, please consider it carefully," Lee Xu urged before departing.

Hee Liang, concealed in the shadows, only emerged once Lee Xu had gone.

It was then that Hee Liang realized the extent of the burden Chen Mengtong bore.

He hid again as Chen Mengtong exited the building, watching her walk away without revealing himself.

Hee Liang shook his head; he was powerless to assist her at this moment.

After a brief pause to gather his thoughts, he made his way to the library.

There, he checked out several biology texts.

Exiting the library with a stack of hefty books, he drew skeptical and disdainful glances from many students.

They found it hard to believe Hee Liang would actually delve into such challenging material.

"Xue, isn't that the senior brother who tutored you?" a young couple conversed outside the library.

Hee Liang looked up, recognizing both of them.

Deng Xue and Wu Jun were their names.

Yet, these two were juniors in high school.

Wu Jun topped their year!

Back when Hee Liang was at the height of his success, Deng Xue was often by his side, seeking his advice and learning methods now and then.

But after Hee Liang's fall from grace, she vanished from his side.

"He's nothing but a notorious troublemaker now. You're better off without him, Wu Jun," Deng Xue said with a dismissive glance at Hee Liang, her sultry figure pressing against Wu Jun, sending his thoughts racing.

Wu Jun chuckled, throwing a look at Hee Liang, "He's supposed to be a genius student joining the Grand Plan, you know."

"The Grand Plan?" Deng Xue couldn't help but laugh out loud.

She covered her mouth, her voice far from quiet: "You mean Senior Brother Hee? That's quite the joke."

Hee Liang, however, didn't spare them a glance and walked straight past.

Their expressions stiffened, and Deng Xue stamped her foot in frustration, "He's nothing but a has-been, yet he still carries himself with such arrogance!"

She then turned to Wu Jun with a syrupy tone, "Wu Jun, why don't you come over for a study session this Saturday at my place?"

Wu Jun's smile spread across his face, "Sure, after I help you with your studies, I'll show you a few new tricks."

Back in the classroom, all eyes were on Hee Liang as he entered.

Ignoring the stares, Hee Liang settled into his seat with a stack of biology books.

"The biology competition is just three weeks away. I need to review as much as possible!"

Currently, Hee Liang had 100 working coins, but upgrading from Advanced High School Biology to Ultimate High School Biology would cost 500.

It seemed impossible for him!

Hee Liang had no choice but to depend on himself.

His mind was a beacon of clarity as he built a mental framework of knowledge.

The night slipped away.

Come morning, Hee Liang made his way to a laboratory.

While other students were required to attend early morning study sessions, those who had qualified for the Dragon District's second-round test had a different destination, where a specially invited biology teacher from the school would hold a lecture.

As Hee Liang stepped in, five pairs of eyes instantly turned to him.

Shock and curiosity flickered in their eyes.

"Hee Liang?" The biology teacher, his temples touched with gray, paused in surprise.

It had been three months since Hee Liang's incident, which sent his grades into a nosedive, and he hadn't set foot in the classroom for morning self-study since.

"Why has he come?" Chen Mengtong's gaze held a complex mixture of emotions. She hadn't anticipated Hee Liang's return.

"Hee Liang, you really shouldn't be here for my lecture. You're better suited for the college entrance exams now," the biology teacher said, exhaling deeply and not mincing words.

He was well aware that Hee Liang was on the brink of expulsion in just a few days!

He hadn't even bothered to prepare materials for Hee Liang!

The purpose of Hee Liang's visit to the lab was beyond him.

With a serene expression, Hee Liang spoke in a detached tone, "Teacher, I didn't come for the class."

"I'm just here to use the biology equipment."
