C14 Unable to Get into Snape

Reflecting on his godfather's pallid face and his bat-like gait, Malfoy felt a residual unease—a vestige of his childhood nightmares. Yet, the thought of his dear friend's life hanging by a thread spurred him to knock on the door with newfound bravery.

"Draco, I need to speak with Young Master Liang Mu. Run along and find your foolish companions," Snape's stern voice caused Malfoy to shudder, casting an anxious glance at Liang Mu.

Liang Mu gave Malfoy a reassuring pat and calmly closed the door behind him.

Perched back on his chair, Liang Mu observed Snape, who was deeply engrossed in his studies. He marveled once more at Snape's tsundere nature—expressing his genuine concern for Malfoy's development through harsh words. Snape was the classic case of a tough exterior cloaking a heart full of love, shaped by a childhood devoid of affection.

Snape set aside his microscope and fixed his gaze on Liang Mu, who responded with silence.

Liang Mu averted his eyes, feigning ignorance. For a Black Magic Master skilled in Brain Sealing, reading Liang Mu's thoughts would be child's play, even if his Legilimency skills were not quite on par with Dumbledore's.

"Where did this potion come from?" Snape inquired, seemingly oblivious to Liang Mu's discomfort.

Liang Mu glanced at the half-full bottle of Spirit Liquid on the table, a smug smile crossing his face. "I made it myself."

Yet, as he faced Snape, Liang Mu's head bowed once more, perfectly embodying the Little Wizard's timid demeanor.

Snape reclined in his chair, skeptical of the claim from a Little Wizard who had yet to systematically study wizardry. He suspected Liang Mu's involvement in the potion's creation was minimal, perhaps merely fetching an ingredient—his assertion of craftsmanship likely nothing more than a child's boast.

"Young Master Liang Mu, I understand that probing into another family's potion recipes is discourteous, but I'm prepared to offer a unique formula in exchange," Snape proposed, nonchalantly passing a vial to Liang Mu.

"Let's trade with this potion. I'm sure your parents would be quite pleased."

Item: Premium Enhancer

Level: White

Type: Support Medicine

Function: After ingestion, all basic attributes increase by +2, lasting for five minutes.

Price: 70 Game Coins

Origin: Harry Porter

Description: This medicine has been improved by Snape, extending its duration to five minutes.

Excellent find.

Having reviewed the system's description, Liang Mu clearly recognized its value, which was significantly higher than that of Spirit Liquid.

Clearly, this was Snape's gesture of goodwill towards his family, as well as an apology for his unauthorized experimentation with medicines. Liang Mu was unconcerned with the other items.

Yet, Liang Mu did not reach for the bottle of medicine. Instead, he furrowed his brow and fixed his gaze on Snape's hooked nose, raising his voice to say,

"Prof. Snape, please believe me, I truly crafted this medicine on my own."

Witnessing the black-haired boy's pride wounded by the disregard for his achievement, Snape was reminded of his own past.

But the boy's impolite staring at his nose reignited the anger in Snape's recently calmed heart.

"Young Master Liang Mu, it's best not to boast until you have the strength to back it up."

Snape leaned in, casting a large shadow over Liang Mu, his icy gaze piercing as he spoke deliberately. Of course, he maintained some ethical standards, refraining from using Legilimency on a child.

Unintimidated by Snape's intimidating presence, Liang Mu averted his eyes and nimbly hopped off his chair, heading towards the table as he spoke without reservation,

"Your Excellency Snape, seeing is believing, and hearsay is not. Making unfounded assumptions is not the behavior of a gentleman."

With that, Liang Mu reached the table and began to handle the ingredients laid out before him.

Snape's expertise was evident; in just a short time, he had nearly completed the preparation of the Magic Medicine needed for the potion, missing only a few minor ingredients and the brewing sequence and technique.

As a consummate Magic Medicine Master, allowing someone else to use his workspace was intolerable. However, observing Liang Mu's adept handling of the materials, Snape withdrew his hands into his sleeves and silently watched the boy's slight figure, lost in thought.

He reminisced about the times he was alone in the Potion's Chamber beneath Hogwarts, practicing by himself. It was strikingly similar to his current endeavors. But as his memories lingered, some unsettling images snapped him back to the present.

Snape's gaze sharpened as he watched Liang Mu at the crucible. Liang Mu carelessly scooped a bit from the fire dragon skin pot and tossed it into the crucible, a move that made Snape's eyelids twitch and his initial favorable impression of Liang Mu diminish considerably.

An hour passed.

With a puff, the addition of fire dragon skin caused blue smoke to billow from the crucible, transforming the thick, muddy solution into a clear, light blue liquid. A pleasant fragrance filled the room, chasing away any foul odors, and Liang Mu took several deep breaths, clearly enjoying the scent of the perfect potion, which he was all too happy to use as an air freshener.

Having extinguished the alcohol lamp, Liang Mu stepped aside to give Snape a clear view of the potion, his face beaming with pride.

"How about that, Prof. Snape? Seeing is believing, isn't it?"

"Are you flaunting your superficial knowledge before me?"

Snape cast Liang Mu a glance, stepped closer to inspect the potion in the crucible, and then eyed Liang Mu as if trying to discern something from him. Then, as if by magic, he produced a spoon and sampled a bit of the Spirit Liquid.

Although Snape had never encountered Spirit Liquid before, his solid foundation in potion-making allowed him to distinguish its quality. Almost instinctively, he considered using Legilimency to determine if this Little Wizard, capable of crafting such high-quality Magic Medicine, was being manipulated by that old man with his compound potions.

Sensing Snape's intent, Liang Mu instinctively retreated a step, his right hand concealed behind him, clutching a small bag of poison, ready to scatter it at the first sign of any untoward behavior from Snape.

But in the next instant,

Warning: You are under the effect of Legilimency from Plane's Snape, and a judgment is underway...

The blue necklace on his chest glowed softly. Liang Mu quickly shut his eyes and scattered the poison from his hand.

Liang Mu chose not to employ lethal poison in his warning to Snape; however, he ensured that Snape would experience some discomfort.
