C1 Another World Strongest Villain System!
In a bleak and pitch-black prison cell, a young man was suspended from iron chains, his half-naked body riddled with a myriad of wounds. It took an indeterminate amount of time for him to regain consciousness, and upon awakening, he couldn't help but exclaim, "You damn fool, don't you know when to keep your mouth shut?"
At that moment, Chiang Xie was overcome with a sense of utter frustration. The reason? He was a transmigrator from Earth! Somehow, he had died and ended up in this other world known as the Profound Sky Continent, taking over the body of a no-good doppelganger sharing his name, Chiang Xie.
Sounds exciting, doesn't it? A transmigrator's tale—a story of a nobody rising to power! Surely, given time, he could rule the continent and be unmatched, right?
But why did Chiang Xie look like he was suffering from the worst case of constipation? Well, would you not feel the same if you transmigrated into a body whose former inhabitant was caught stealing his sister-in-law's red bellyband, utterly intoxicated by the act?
Stealing the red bellyband might have been overlooked, but the guy was caught red-handed! And in his panic, he died, allowing Earth's Chiang Xie to take over his body.
And so, he took the beating meant for the body's original owner. Can you imagine the despair of arriving in an unknown world, barely getting your bearings, only to be pummeled for such a seemingly justified reason as stealing a red bellyband?
After the beating, they tossed him into a cell, leading to the scene before us.
But when you get down to it, this was merely a convenient excuse they concocted to kill him.
Chiang Xie was a direct descendant of the Chiang family, a prominent lineage in Fire Cloud City, and the son of the family patriarch, making him a contender for future leadership.
Despite his exceptional talent, having reached the peak of Foundation Stage Level 8 at just sixteen and nearing the threshold of the Profound Energy Stage, he had a fatal flaw. He was utterly captivated by beauty, his mind filled with nothing but lustful thoughts. If not for this weakness, he never would have committed the bizarre act of stealing his sister-in-law's bellyband.
In a surprising turn of events, he had inadvertently charmed a princess of the royal family. Right there and then, her guards warned him, but the princess, not wanting to ruin her good time, spared Chiang Xie's life.
He had hoped the incident would be forgotten, but his father was no saint either. Fearing the repercussions of offending the Imperial City's princess, he found himself out of favor with the city lord and even contemplated eliminating the problem that was his son.
But in these times, even those with questionable morals put on a show of virtue. If he were to kill Chiang Xie, what would the people of Fire Cloud City say? That he was so intimidated by the Imperial City that he'd kill his own son? While it might be the harsh truth, it certainly wasn't something to be broadcasted.
So, he craftily had Chiang Xie's brother and the scions of other families confront him, hoping to drive Chiang Xie to leave or, in a twisted act of penance, take his own life.
This betrayal chilled Chiang Xie to the core, leading him down a path of corruption. He ended up attempting to steal his sister-in-law's red bellyband, only to die in a most ludicrous manner from fright.
"Alas, this young man is truly unfortunate. On Earth, he'd rank among the top ten most wretched," Chiang Xie mused before rattling the iron chains, only to find they wouldn't budge.
He began to suspect that his transmigration had led him straight to another death. Wasn't it said that those who transmigrate are favored by the authors?
"Because you're not the protagonist!"
Suddenly, a voice echoed in Chiang Xie's mind, filling him with excitement. The host? Could this be the fabled system from the novels? It seemed he had found his cheat after all.
"What do you mean?" Chiang Xie engaged the voice in conversation.
"Why should I tell you?" responded the system with an unexpected aloofness.
Chiang Xie was at a loss for words. Was this system a sham?
But as an Earthling, he figured the system just needed some proper handling. With a mischievous grin, he retorted, "You won't tell me? Fine, go do whatever you please. I don't need you, but I can still turn the tables. Don't believe me?"
After his declaration, he shattered the iron chain with a resounding boom! Initially, he hadn't been able to break the chain because he wasn't harnessing the power of a cultivator. But now, accustomed to the strength of a Foundation Stage Level 8, it would be laughable if he couldn't snap a mere iron chain.
The system was completely taken aback. This host certainly had a distinctive personality.
Back on Earth, Chiang Xie never liked asking for help, having grown accustomed to his cold-blooded nature. "You think you've got character? Well, I've got even more," he'd say.
"You call yourself a system? Fine, I won't use you. I'll show you I can be just as arrogant and slap faces on my own, climbing to the pinnacle of life."
Hearing Chiang Xie's thoughts, the system became even more bewildered. It couldn't possibly become redundant, could it? After all, who had ever heard of a transmigrator with a system they didn't use?
In a state of panic, the system attempted to sound as amiable as possible, "I was merely jesting with the host earlier. I possess knowledge of the entire universe; there's nothing I'm unaware of! Allow me to explain now..."
"No need! I've given it some thought, and I've realized I don't need the system," Chiang Xie responded coolly.
"Really?"
"Really!"
"No regrets?"
"None whatsoever!"
"..."
When the system fell silent, Chiang Xie assumed it had conceded. But the system's next words left him torn between laughter and tears.
"Brother... no, Uncle... Err, Master! You can't abandon this system! I'm truly formidable! Seriously formidable! Why not activate the system and give it a try? This system implores you!" To his astonishment, the system even began to weep.
Truth be told, the system was in a predicament. Typically, once a host was chosen, there was no turning back. If the host didn't utilize the system, what purpose did it serve? It would surely be reclaimed by the Heavenly Dao, tantamount to its demise!
So, it was genuinely fearful that Chiang Xie wouldn't activate it. It had intended to impress the host, to earn his respect, but instead, it had hit a snag.
Chiang Xie suddenly furrowed his brow and addressed the system, "Let's talk later. I'm about to demonstrate my skill in putting on a show!" Just then, Chiang Xie's brother, Chiang Yu, and his sister-in-law, Hongyan, approached with a leisurely gait. Catching sight of the disheveled Chiang Xie, a flicker of scorn crossed their faces.
Before either could utter a word, Chiang Xie stepped forward with a guileless grin. "Brother! Sister-in-law! How are you?" he exclaimed, embracing them with feigned warmth.
Caught off guard, Chiang Yu and Hongyan took a moment to react before pushing Chiang Xie away with revulsion. "Don't cozy up to us. You've sealed your fate this time! How could you dare to steal your sister-in-law's..." Chiang Yu began, only to be cut off by a disapproving glance from Hongyan. Couldn't he leave her red bellyband out of it?
Chiang Yu held his tongue, though he couldn't help but revel in secret. He had long sought a reason to dispose of Chiang Xie, and now the fool had handed him one on a silver platter. With such a blunder, Chiang Xie's downfall seemed inevitable.
Clearly, Chiang Yu lacked any sense of pride in being cuckolded, and Chiang Xie was all too eager to enlighten him.
Suddenly, Chiang Xie's demeanor shifted, and he produced a red object, sniffing it disdainfully. "Sister-in-law, not to be rude, but hygiene is important. You really should wash your red bellyband more often; it's quite pungent, just like the last time I visited your room."
"And don't be too hard on my brother for his shortcomings. I've been helping him out, diligently visiting your room daily to 'complete my assignments.' Yet, despite my efforts, you still beat me and then give me this red bellyband. What exactly are you implying?"
Having said his piece, Chiang Xie tossed the red bellyband to the ground with an air of indignation and fixed Hongyan with a furious stare.
Hongyan nearly choked on her rage, while Chiang Yu began to harbor doubts about her, considering his frequent retreats for cultivation and his rare visits home to rest. And there it was, the red bellyband that Chiang Xie had thrown down – his wife's very own.
Only Hongyan knew that she had stolen the red bellyband from Chiang Xie when he had held her in his arms moments earlier. But how could she possibly explain such a thing?
Frustrated, she could only point at Chiang Xie, too angry to utter a single word.
"You're asking for it!" Even if Chiang Yu had doubts about Hongyan, he couldn't let Chiang Xie off the hook. He was immediately filled with a murderous intent.
Just then, Chiang Xie seemed to have an epiphany. His eyes turned red as he looked at Chiang Yu and Hongyan with sincere regret. "Brother, go ahead! To die in front of the person I admire the most is all I could ask for."
Chiang Yu looked at Chiang Xie and was suddenly flooded with childhood memories of them playing together in the courtyard.
He recalled how Chiang Xie would always hide behind him after causing mischief, seeking his older brother's protection. But those days were gone forever.
Who told you to mess with the princess of the Imperial City? Who made it clear to our father that you were the one to be dealt with? Who told you to steal your sister-in-law's red bellyband?
"Ah, try to be more sensible in your next life." Ultimately, Chiang Yu sighed, resolved to kill Chiang Xie. It was the only way he could become the leading candidate for the clan chief.
But in the few moments of Chiang Yu's hesitation, Chiang Xie burst forth with the peak power of Foundation Stage Level 8, landing a punch directly on Chiang Yu's chest.
Chiang Yu coughed up blood and was sent flying over ten meters before crashing to the ground, breathless.
Chiang Xie, a prodigy of the Chiang family, had met his end, but not before demonstrating his strength at Foundation Stage Level 8. Chiang Yu, in his twenties, was also at the same level, but completely unprepared for Chiang Xie's full-force attack, resulting in his instant demise.
"Ha, you're the one who should behave in your next life," Chiang Xie scoffed. His previous demeanor had been an act. As for killing, he didn't see it as a big deal. After all, it wasn't against the law here, and Chiang Yu wasn't his true brother anyway.
Startled, Hongyan's face drained of color. Without a second thought for Chiang Yu, she took off as fast as she could! With her cultivation only at Foundation Stage Level 7, she stood no chance against Chiang Xie. Her only option was to flee and seek the help of her family's elders or the clan chief to defeat Chiang Xie.
Watching Hongyan escape, Chiang Xie merely smirked and made no move to pursue her. After all, he had caught a whiff of her scent... Ahem. Truth be told, he was originally from Earth and the fact that he could even consider taking a life was a big step for him. The idea of killing a woman was still something he was not comfortable with. Besides, he was aware that whether he killed her or not, his place within the Chiang family was no longer tenable.
His only chance for survival was to leave. Just then, the system burst into boisterous laughter again. Chiang Xie stripped Chiang Yu of his clothes and donned them himself, wondering if the system was about to get triggered.
After a short pause, the system's laughter ceased, and it declared, "You truly are the perfect host for this system!"
"Hmm?"
