C3 I will Kill You If You Hurt This Woman

"Master! The Third Madame has been kneeling for several hours now..." The servants of the Chiang family, seeing the Third Madame kneeling outside the hall for an extended period, couldn't help but express their concern to Chiang Tianhai.

Chiang Tianhai, who had three wives, held the Third Madame, a woman of stunning beauty, closest to his heart. Unfortunately, his son had managed to offend a princess from the Imperial City.

Moreover, just today, he was caught by Hongyan stealing her undergarment! It seemed like the perfect excuse to rid himself of this nuisance, yet the Third Madame remained steadfast, kneeling and pleading for her child's sake.

Her once delicate frame was now drained and weary from the relentless sun, yet she continued to endure with gritted teeth.

"Hmph! If she wishes to kneel, then let her. Look at the son she raised! To think he would do such a thing; I've long since disowned him." Perhaps it was the power he wielded as the patriarch that made Chiang Tianhai grow distant from familial bonds.

In his view, wives and children paled in comparison to power. As long as the Chiang family maintained its status as a prominent family in Fire Cloud City, he could always find another woman to bear him a prodigy.

Thus, he was determined to eliminate anyone who posed a threat to his authority.

Lee Shuangshuang, Chiang Yu's mother and the First Lady, supported Chiang Tianhai's stance, "The Master is correct. Such behavior tarnishes our morals. If not addressed with severity, it would throw our family into disarray."

"Mm, inform Lan Xin to make arrangements for her beloved son's funeral. Shortly, send the Blood Poison Pill to Chiang Xie," Chiang Tianhai instructed Lee Shuangshuang, his gaze briefly betraying a flicker of complexity before returning to its usual icy detachment.

Lee Shuangshuang's heart leapt with joy. With Lan Xin's son out of the picture, her own son stood as the prime candidate to become the next patriarch. Yet, if she were to discover that Chiang Yu had already passed away, Lee Shuangshuang could only wonder at the reaction that would follow...

Carrying Chiang Tianhai's orders, Lee Shuangshuang approached Lan Xin, still kneeling outside, and relayed the message with unerring accuracy.

"Did the Master really say that? How could he..." Upon hearing the news, Lan Xin's face instantly turned ashen, and she incredulously questioned Lee Shuangshuang.

"Ah, sister, I understand what it's like to be a mother. To watch your own son on the brink of death is unbearable, but we must accept reality. Everyone dies, don't they?" Lee Shuangshuang offered a comforting smile to Lan Xin, yet her words stung sharply.

"No! I must save my child!" Suddenly, Lan Xin found the strength to rise from the ground, determined to go to the prison cell and rescue Chiang Xie.

She now realized that the Chiang family was steeped in coldness, and pleading was futile. Today, she would have to break into the prison, even if it cost her life.

Just then, Hongyan came running over, distraught, and cried to Lee Shuangshuang, "Mom, Chiang Yu... Chiang Yu has been killed by Chiang Xie..."

"Exactly, like you just said, we have to face reality. It's just the loss of a son, isn't it? Everyone dies, right?" Chiang Xie emerged from the prison cell, grinning at Lee Shuangshuang while holding the Shark Tooth.

Lee Shuangshuang collapsed, overwhelmed by the shock and Chiang Xie’s callous words. Hongyan, terrified, fled to the living room, fearing Chiang Xie might turn on her next.

"Xie! Are you okay? Quick, get out of here before your father finds you!" Lan Xin was relieved to see Chiang Xie unharmed and urgently implored him to escape.

Chiang Xie froze. Back on Earth, he had been an orphan who had fended for himself, struggling through high school and eventually scraping by in the world of extras. His heartache was something no one else could grasp.

Sometimes he wondered, 'Why do others enjoy the love of parents and a happy life, while I have to live like a dog? Why?'

So, this unexpected concern left him at a loss. But he quickly realized that this woman was not his mother, but the mother of the body's original owner. He had no claim to her maternal affection.

Striving for composure, he replied, "Auntie, I'm fine, please don't worry..." The word 'mother' remained unspoken, too distant for him to utter.

Lan Xin was momentarily taken aback, but considering the ordeal the child had endured in the cell, she couldn't help but feel guilty for not rescuing him. Regardless of the reasons, failing to be there for him during his most painful moments was indeed her fault.

So, she didn't mind the formality of his address and urged him with concern, "Xie, what you call me doesn't matter. You need to leave now! Otherwise, it'll be too dangerous!"

Simultaneously, an enraged bellow erupted, "You worthless wretch! You're not going anywhere! I'll see to it that our family is rid of you!" The formidable presence of the Golden Core Stage bore down on Chiang Xie and Lan Xin.

Chiang Xie, a Foundation Stage Level 9 cultivator, felt discomfort under the Golden Core Stage's pressure but managed to withstand it. Lan Xin, however, at Foundation Stage Level 6, could not resist such overwhelming force and promptly lost consciousness.

Within moments, Chiang Xie was at Lan Xin's side, cradling her in one arm. A fierce rage he couldn't contain reddened his eyes as he spat out furiously, "You scoundrel! I'd like to see you try to 'clean up' now."

Before Chiang Tianhai could respond, Chiang Xie unleashed the ferocious energy of the Shark Tooth. The malevolent aura soared, as if ripping through the fabric of reality, while Chiang Xie's eyes glowed with a bloodthirsty light, his intent to kill palpable.

Chiang Tianhai and the other Chiang family powerhouses were petrified by this malevolent force. What kind of energy was this? It was so potent it seemed as though an Asura had been reborn. Could it be that he was possessed by a member of the Devil Clan? How else could such a young man harbor such a terrifyingly fierce aura?

Chiang Tianhai, sensing something amiss, refrained from acting impulsively and cautiously inquired, "Who are you, really?"

"An insignificant insect dares to question the Devil Sovereign? What a farce you are. But, had this young man not inadvertently broken the seal on the Shark Tooth, I might have remained trapped within for millennia. I'm in a generous mood, hence why you're all still breathing," Chiang Xie declared in a raspy voice, as though he had indeed transformed into someone else.

Everyone was left speechless, could he truly be possessed by the Devil Clan? And he even referred to himself as the original being? Was it possible that he was a Devil Sovereign with sky-high cultivation?

Chiang Tianhai was uncertain whether Chiang Xie had really been taken over by the Devil Clan. Despite Chiang Xie's overwhelming malevolence, his cultivation level didn't seem to have increased—it remained at Foundation Stage Level 9.

So, he decided to test him. Without any warning, he launched a golden palm strike at Chiang Xie!

Chiang Xie, however, didn't budge. He took the hit squarely, as if dodging was beneath him.

"How dare you test me? You're nothing but an ant! I'll kill you all, hahaha!" Chiang Xie braced himself against the force of the blow, even secretly swallowing the blood that had spilled from his mouth. Commitment to the role was key!

Now that's what you call acting! If they could tell it was all an act, then he would concede defeat.

He then cranked up the malevolent aura of the Shark Tooth to its peak, and a blood demon, barely visible, materialized from the aura into a semi-solid form. Although it still wielded the power of Foundation Stage Level 9...

But it was enough to terrify them! The crowd was indeed in a panic. This was truly the Devil Sovereign! It was the end! The Chiang family was done for!

Chiang Tianhai was filled with regret. What was he thinking, testing him? Now he had angered the other party, and the Chiang family might be ruined.

He quickly tried to make amends, "Devil Sovereign! Great Devil Sovereign! I was wrong! I should not have disrespected you. Please forgive my ignorance."

Watching the usually haughty clan leader grovel like this gave Chiang Xie a dark thrill. Who said a comeback always required a fight? With the right acting chops, you could still turn the tables and soar.

However, even as the Devil Slaying technique was healing his wounds, he was nearing his limit, so he needed to wrap up his performance and leave.

"Hmph, I will forgive you lowly humans this time. It's beneath me to kill a bunch of ants, but I do have one demand," Chiang Xie said with a cold snort.

Chiang Tianhai's expression brightened as he eagerly responded, "Tell me! I will make sure it's done!"

Chiang Xie hesitated for a moment, casting another glance at Lan Xin cradled in his arms. Then, with a commanding presence, he declared, "You've harmed this woman. Mark my words, she will one day exact a bloody vengeance upon the Chiang family!"
