Stepping outside, one is enveloped by Spiritual Qi; stepping inside, it vanishes.

It's as if we're in an Earthly village cut off from Spiritual Qi, drained of it, leaving behind nothing more than an unremarkable town.

The flickering lights here seem to be evidence of the fleeing Spiritual Qi.
