C3 Violent Chen Bai

Chen Bai was startled by the volume of his own voice and mentally noted that he needed to keep it down in the future. Otherwise, it wouldn't be good to frighten others, and it certainly didn't fit with his image of suave sophistication. That said, since his transmigration, he hadn't once looked in a mirror. He hoped he didn't resemble a misshapen gourd.

While Chen Bai was musing, a group emerged from the dining hall. Leading them was a burly man with the build of a tiger and the girth of a bear, his face obscured by a full beard. Shirtless, his impressive muscles were on full display. Most astonishingly, he carried an enormous battle axe on his back. The entourage behind him was clearly composed of either household servants or relatives from collateral branches of the family.

Upon spotting the muscular man, Chen Bai couldn't help but chuckle and called out to him.

"Who do we have here? If it isn't Chen Hu, you beast. What's the matter? Need me to loosen up that tight skin of yours?"

Chen Bai's words left everyone around them dumbstruck. Before Chen Hu could utter a word, a man with a forgettable face hurriedly interjected.

"Chen Bai, have you lost your mind? Daring to speak to Brother Hu in such a manner. Brother Hu possesses the constitution of a Fierce Tiger and has even awakened a Profound Grade Spirit Root. He's likely to advance to the Golden Core Stage and become an elder in the future. Not to mention, Brother Hu is already at the pinnacle of the ninth level of the Qi Refining Stage, just a step away from the Foundation Stage. Who do you think you are? You're not even fit to carry Brother Hu's shoes!"

After the man finished his adulation, Chen Bai casually cleaned his ear and flicked the earwax towards him, then asked nonchalantly, "Are you done?"

As the man opened his mouth to retort, something abruptly flew into it. Initially, he didn't realize what had happened and even chewed thoughtlessly. But as the realization dawned on him, his face turned a sickly shade of purple, and he doubled over, retching violently. Onlookers quickly gave him a wide berth, including Chen Hu, who was visibly repulsed.

Chen Bai was so amused he could barely stand up straight. Gasping for air, he taunted, "Hahaha! Take note, don't be a bootlicker in the future. Haven't you heard the saying, 'A bootlicker ends up with nothing'?"

Chen Hu's face flushed with embarrassment and anger, despite not recognizing the man before him. Yet, it was because of Chen Bai that he found himself in this situation. If he allowed Chen Bai to continue belittling him, who would respect Chen Hu in the future? With this thought, Chen Hu removed his battle axe from his back and spoke up, "Chen Bai, all you have is a sharp tongue. If I were to split you in two right here, Chen Lieh, that senile old man, wouldn't be able to utter a word against it."

Chen Bai's expression turned stormy.

"What did you just call my father?"

Chen Hu took pleasure in seeing Chen Bai's darkened mood.

"Look at you, all worked up. To think someone would spend two hundred thousand Spirit Stones on a Marrow Cleansing Pill for a useless person like you. If that's not the act of a muddled old fool, I don't know what is."

Chen Bai, shaking with rage, had no more words to waste. He simply uttered four words with deliberate slowness:

"Heaven Soaring Finger!" And with that, he pointed forward.

"Warning! Warning! The host's cultivation level is insufficient to execute Heaven Soaring Finger. Overdraft activation will commence."

"As this is the host's first time overdrawing to use a Heaven Rank Spirit Skill, the energy consumption for this cast will be waived."

"Considering the host's emotional fluctuations and unfamiliarity with the power of Heaven Soaring Finger, the skill will be modified to a targeted erasure."

Following the system's prompts, the previously darkened skies, caused by Chen Bai's declaration, began to clear. Yet, no one present could find the words to speak. Chen Bai was stunned by the might of his own action, while fear silenced the others.

What had just transpired was witnessed by all. With a single gesture from Chen Bai, Chen Hu was utterly vaporized. He wasn't merely killed; he was disintegrated, leaving not even a trace behind.

Then, a voice from the sidelines, quivering with fear, spoke up: "Chen Bai, you've wantonly slain a member of our clan. The Patriarch will surely not forgive you for this."

Chen Bai remained silent, merely casting a glance at the individual. The person promptly clamped his mouth shut and assumed the role of a mute.

After a moment of silence, Chen Bai spoke up, "My father chose to step down because he feels guilty for spending years of our family's income on raising someone he considered worthless—me. But I'm here to set the record straight: I am not worthless. In fact, I'm a once-in-a-lifetime genius. From now on, anyone who speaks ill of my father will meet the same end as Chen Hu."

With the crowd rendered speechless, Chen Bai didn't press further. He quietly ate in the dining hall before heading back to his quarters. It was only after he had been gone for quite some time that the others breathed a sigh of relief. "We need to inform the Patriarch about this immediately," someone suggested.

Once back at his residence, Chen Bai had cooled off from the walk. He harbored no regrets about killing Chen Hu. Insulting his father was an unforgivable offense, and Chen Hu had sealed his own fate with his words. Chen Bai anticipated future complications, but with his formidable system at hand, he feared no one.

Chen Bai was no stranger to hardship, having endured his fair share of life's injustices, so his resilience was strong. But he could never tolerate disrespect toward his family. Having grown up in the Welfare House, he had never known a father's love. His only knowledge of his estranged father came from the memories he inherited from Chen Bai.

Later, reflecting on the system's alerts during his use of the Heaven Soaring Finger, Chen Bai's curiosity about its true might was piqued, prompting him to inquire with the system.

The system promptly responded, "The Heaven Soaring Finger, a low-grade Heaven Rank Spirit Spell, can obliterate all life and structures within hundreds of miles when fully executed. Combined with the Heaven Soaring Spell, its range can expand several-fold. However, the energy required is immense. At your current level, casting even a standard Heaven Soaring Finger would deplete your Immortal Grade Spirit Root and all your cultivation. In essence, you'd be reduced to a mere mortal afterwards."

"What cultivation level is required to use the Heaven Soaring Finger without sustaining any damage?"

"You must be at least at the Nascent Infant Stage Level Five or higher."

"And if I overuse it and revert to being a mere mortal?"

"The system will then select a new suitable host."

Upon hearing the system's explanation, Chen Bai lapsed into silence. It appeared that for the foreseeable future, the Heaven Soaring Finger would only serve as a last-ditch, suicidal technique.

Chen Bai proceeded to ask the system several trivial questions, such as what sustains its energy and whether he looked good today. The system remained unresponsive to all inquiries. This reaffirmed Chen Bai's suspicion that the system was not the unreliable voice assistant he had imagined.

Suddenly, Chen Bai recalled an extremely crucial detail: the original owner of this body had no recollection of his own appearance. This realization sent a wave of panic through him. Was it possible that he was so unattractive that he couldn't bear to look at himself?

With this troubling thought, Chen Bai quickly fetched a basin of water to catch his reflection. Why not use a mirror? Would you expect a child with no memory of his own face to have a mirror in his room?

Upon seeing the reflection in the water, Chen Bai breathed a sigh of relief. The body's appearance was quite pleasing, far more so than his previous self. It seemed he wouldn't have to worry about his looks going forward. But then again, why did this child have no recollection of the opposite sex? His mind was consumed with thoughts of cultivation. Could there be an issue there?

"Bang!"

Just then, the door was violently kicked open. Chen Bai, who was in the midst of checking for any issues with his appearance, jumped at the noise. As he braced himself to confront the intruder, five figures clad in black burst into the room, their faces obscured by dark cloths.

Recognizing their attire, Chen Bai immediately identified them as enforcers from the Law Enforcement Hall, tasked with disciplining clan members who had transgressed. Typically, these enforcers were cultivators at the Foundation Stage.

"You've been accused of plotting against your kin. You must come with us."

Guided by the principle that a true man doesn't suffer immediate losses, Chen Bai didn't fuss over the fact that his door had been kicked in. He dutifully followed the five Law Enforcement officers as they made their way to the Law Enforcement Hall.

In due time, the party of six reached the Law Enforcement Hall. Despite having conjured up its image in his memory several times, the actual sight of it left Chen Bai feeling that the building was painfully unsightly.

The entire structure was cloaked in a uniform, non-reflective black. No other color was to be seen anywhere. One would certainly think the place was non-existent if they approached at night. According to the Law Enforcing Elder, this was meant to convey a sense of solemnity. But no matter how Chen Bai looked at it, he couldn't shake the feeling that the Law Enforcement Hall was broadcasting a message: "I am the epitome of darkness."

Two large stone beast sculptures flanked the main entrance, said to be depictions of a Rank Seven Spirit Beast, the Emperor Rat. Indeed, two massive rats stood guard at the entrance. It was believed that the Emperor Rat highly valued order, leading its clan with impeccable organization. The Law Enforcing Elder had explained that the Emperor Rat symbolized order. While the sentiment was admirable, Chen Bai couldn't help but wonder if a different creature might have been a more fitting emblem. Was likening oneself to a rat truly appropriate?

Though his mind was abuzz with these thoughts, Chen Bai's stride remained steady. They soon reached the entrance of the Law Enforcement Hall. The five officers who had escorted him there dispersed to attend to their own duties. As Chen Bai pondered the intentions behind the Law Enforcement Hall's enigmatic facade, an elderly man with a weathered countenance emerged. The old man approached Chen Bai and bowed respectfully, "Young Master Bai, Elder Yuan requests your presence."

"Please, Elder Mo, lead the way," Chen Bai responded.

With his head held high, Chen Bai followed Elder Mo into the courtyard of the Law Enforcement Hall, eager to discover what Elder Chen Yuan had in store for him.
