Before anyone could even register what was happening, the streak of light vanished into the sky. It quickly came to rest atop a small mountain known as the Valley of Desolation, named for the valley at its base called the same. The valley's temperature was strikingly different from the surrounding environment; even during the sweltering summers, it remained refreshingly cool
