C9 A New Danger.

"I'm not spouting nonsense. Ask your daughter if they live in the same room since they got married. Are they really a couple?" Ye Fengchun's voice thundered across the room.

Ye Qingcheng was speechless.

Her father was right. She did not agree with the marriage, so she did not let Lin Nan sleep with her.

They didn't even converse as normal couples do.

Ye Qingcheng completely treated him as if he didn't exist.

"Obviously, if his normal needs were not met, he had to look for other ways to satisfy them. I think he should be given a second chance," Ye Fengchun added calmly.

His words were facts. There was a reason why he was the boss of the Ye Group.

He could easily turn false theories into truth.

"I don't care what kind of drugs he gave you, but they have to get a divorce. I won't watch my daughter get hurt."

Yuen Shuhan suddenly stood up and walked towards Lin Nan.

"Mom? What are you doing?" Ye Keer panicked.

She thought she was going to hit Lin Nan.

If she really hit him, it would become a serious matter.

"Do you think that you can do whatever you want just because you have someone backing you up? Impossible!" she sneered at him.

"I'll hire the best lawyer to handle this divorce case for my daughter. I will drive trash like you out of the Ye Family at all costs. I swear in my name!"

Lin Nan noticed the slightly protruding veins on her neck and knew that his mother-in-law was really angry.

"Stop scaring your son-in-law," Ye Fengchun advised from the side.

"I'm not scaring him. And you, Ye Fengchun!"

She gritted her teeth and roared, "If they do not divorce this time, then we will."

Yuen Shuhan angrily took her bag and stormed out of the room.

Ye Qingcheng and Ye Keer looked at each other and quickly chased after their mother.

Only Ye Fengchun and Lin Nan were left inside.

Ye Fengchun asked him for cigarettes, then went to smoke.

He sighed as he smoked in halfway.

"Lin Nan, you have been wronged for the past two years," he called out.

Lin Nan's expression changed when he heard him.

His face turned cold as he peered sightlessly at a wall.

"Whether you feel wronged or not is another matter. We are each taking what we need. I will not owe you favors for no reason," Lin Nan said.

"Why don't I just tell Qingcheng who you are?"

Lin Nan irritably shook his head and immediately said in a firm tone, "You better keep your mouth shut."

Ye Fengchun nodded helplessly and sighed. "Once she find out the truth, she would definitely regret it."

"There is still half a year left. I have to leave by then," Lin Nan said coldly.

"Have you recovered from your injuries?" Ye Fengchun asked in surprise.

"I haven't fully recovered yet, but I'm almost there. I'm sure it'll only take a half year's time."

"That's good."

Ye Fengchun smiled and was about to ask something when Ye Keer and Ye Qingcheng came back looking dejected.

He pretended to cough and held his tongue.

"Dad, why didn't you run after mum?" Ye Keer angrily pouted and asked.

"I know your mother's temper very well. She is very stubborn. Let her calm down for now," he told them.

It was best for Ye Fengchun to leave. She needed to take her time alone.

'Men are the worst,' Ye Keer whispered to herself. She turned away and stomped off upstairs.

Ye Qingcheng didn't know what to do, but she didn't want to see Lin Nan and stormed off to her room.

Ye Fengchun stopped her and said, "Qingcheng, wait a moment."

"Dad, is there anything else you want to say?" she asked.

"Starting tomorrow, let Lin Nan follow you to the company," he ordered.

"What did you say?"

Ye Qingcheng was stunned.

As well Lin Nan, who happened to listen to their conversation, was surprised.

What exactly did he want him to do?

"No matter what, you are husband and wife. You can only get closer when you are together."

He seemed serious as he eyed Lin Nan and added, "I should find something for your husband to do. You two had been together for a long time. We can still fix the problem between the two of you."

Lin Nan felt lighthearted. As if a heavy load had gotten off his chest.

Something must've happened.

But he couldn't say it and obviously made it a reason to tie him and Ye Qingcheng together.

"No, thank you," Ye Qingcheng firmly refused.

"You have no other choice," her father said in a firm tone.

Ye Qingcheng looked at Lin Nan bitterly and thought that it was his idea.

Lin Nan shrugged helplessly at her. He was really wronged.

"Dad, I really don't understand what you see in him. Is he really worth your protection?"

She cried and continued, "What about me? Is my happiness not important to you?"

Ye Fengchun felt her words cut through his heart.

"Your happiness is very important. But one day, you will understand why I am doing this. You have no choice but to bear with me."

Her father turned cold and added, "Otherwise, I will use all my resources to buy your company. Heed my words!"

Ye Fengchun's words were a lot crueler than his wife's!

"Dad, you..."

Ye Qingcheng's voice trembled in anger, and her eyes started to turn red.

She couldn't finish her words. She immediately went back to her room and forcefully shut the door.

"Bang."

Ye Fengchun smiled bitterly.

"Father-in-law, you didn't tell me about this," Lin Nan finally voiced out.

Ye Fengchun saw the confused look on his face and smiled. "Stop with the questions. I'm not sure either if this was a great idea. I'm just gambling."

Before Lin Nan could reply, he got up and said, "I've been traveling the whole day, and I'm really tired. I'll take a rest first. You should rest early too since you have to go to the company with Qingcheng early tomorrow."

Then he quickly went upstairs and disappeared into his room.

Lin Nan noticed his suspicious actions. He did not seem to be tired, and he moved very livelily.

He shook his head and muttered, 'He is really an old fox!'

Then his face turned serious again. 'But what made Old Ye so nervous? Is he actually going to let me accompany Ye Qingcheng the whole time?

Could it be that she is in danger again?'

Lin Nan frowned and fell into deep thought.
