"Speak up, will you?"

Mu Chen touched his nose subconsciously, realizing he could no longer keep secrets from Lin Yuyan.

"I'll give you one last chance. Are you going to tell me or not?"

Lin Yuyan gritted her teeth as she pressed for an answer.

Mu Chen quickly grabbed his clothes and retreated into the bathroom.

"There's no need for you to worry about that," Mu Chen replied tersely. "All will be revealed tomorrow."

After bidding farewell to Lin Yuyan, Mu Chen exited the room, leaving her staring at his retreating figure.

'What will he give me tomorrow?'

As Mu Chen descended the stairs, his phone buzzed. It was a call from Wang Xue, his trusted lieutenant.

"Boss, the top thirty families in Chuyang City have sent a joint greeting card to Global Investment. They're eager to meet you!"

Wang Xue couldn't contain his excitement.

Recognizing the gravity of the opportunity, Mu Chen immediately responded.

"Alright, invite them over. I'm heading back to the office now."

Mu Chen agreed.

He understood the weight these influential families carried.

It seemed they had deduced the link between Global Investment and the enigmatic buyer of the villa in the clouds. Clearly, they wanted to establish a relationship.

"This is perfect timing," Mu Chen thought, a glint of calculation flashing in his eyes.

"Lin Yuyan won't stand a chance at being named successor at tomorrow's press conference."

"From now on, in the business community of Chuyang City, CEO Mu is a man we all must respect."

Elation filled the room as leaders from Chuyang City's top families sang Mu Chen's praises.

"Whatever you ask, our families will deliver, no questions asked," another chimed in.

Mu Chen graciously waved his hand.

No need for such grand gestures. However, there is something I'd like to request for tomorrow. At the Lin Family Group's press conference, I hope you can..."

That evening, Mu Chen returned home to find the atmosphere quite different than the buoyant mood at his office.

"You're finally back? I don't see you cooking or doing laundry—all you do is gallivant around!"

Lin Yuyan sat on the sofa, her face etched with concern.

Mu Chen inquired, his tone shifting from authoritative CEO to concerned husband.

"Today, Lin Loong told me that Grandma has confirmed him as her successor. It seems I'm completely out of the running."

Lin Yuyan sighed.

"This is outrageous! You won the bet fair and square. If Grandma is going to be so biased, then I'm going to confront her about it tomorrow!"

Qin Lee fumed, hands on her hips.

Lin Yuyan shook her head. "What's the point? Once Grandma makes a decision, no one in the Lin Family can change it."

The room fell quiet until Mu Chen broke the silence.

"Don't worry, my love. You are the only one truly qualified to be the successor of the Lin Family Group."

Mu Chen said confidently.
