C6 Living Warship Seed!
A tsunami erupted, sending everyone into a state of panic.
Members of the Heavenly Star Association, who were speeding toward Bai Chengcheng's location, whether aboard speedboats in the sea or sprinting along the Heavenly Arrow, all immediately turned tail and fled, desperately racing back to the Arctic Tundra. Yet for many, it was already too late. A watery grave was their inevitable fate.
Their haste to Bai Chengcheng's position was not out of any desire to help him and his companions; they assumed that Bai Chengcheng's group had seized the mysterious treasure and wanted to capitalize on the chaos. Even if Bai Chengcheng and his companions hadn't secured the item, the opportunity to leverage Faang Xinghang's power to strike at their rivals was too good to pass up. Little did they know that the tsunami would erupt before they could reach their destination.
The frogmen who had encircled Bai Chengcheng with the intent to kill were no longer concerned with the treasure. Their own survival was at stake, and they sprinted toward the spot where they had shed their diving suits. They had removed their suits, equipped with webbed gloves and flippers, for better mobility on land while pursuing Bai Chengcheng and his companions. Now, those same suits were their lifeline.
Bai Chengcheng and his two associates were oblivious to the impending disaster due to limited visibility and inexperience. The explosion had occurred dozens of kilometers away on the other side of the Heavenly Arrow, and the central reef blocked their view of the tsunami. With their enemies suddenly gone, Bai Chengcheng breathed a sigh of relief, lay down on the ground, and resigned himself to fate. Fan Gongming and Lu Youzhi turned to see Bai Chengcheng lying bloodied on the ground and were stricken with fear, frantically calling for help.
Faang Xinghang, in his urgency, swooped in like a hawk, continuously yelling, "Bai Chengcheng, run! Run! The tsunami is coming. Hurry!"
The trio stood dumbfounded, scanning the sea, "Where's the tsunami?"
Without touching the ground, Faang Xinghang soared over their heads, stretching out his hand to lift Bai Chengcheng. As he passed over Lu Youzhi and Fan Gongming, he grabbed Lu Youzhi with his other hand, bellowing, "Hold on tight to your backpack," as he gripped the strap of Lu Youzhi's backpack.
Faang Xinghang, clutching two screaming individuals, circled uncertainly, debating whether to leave. His hesitation stemmed from spotting three figures donning basic personal flight gear, swiftly approaching from the Arctic. Unsure if they were friend or foe, he was concerned for Fan Gongming but lacked an extra hand to assist.
From a distance, one of them called out, "I'm Wen Shenyuan from the Vigilante Group. We'll take the other student off your hands."
The Vigilante Group, a self-styled righteous gang, was a formidable force comparable to the Three Pure Ones. Yet to the authorities, they remained a grey power. The martial world's reputation among officials was tarnished by the notion that using martial arts to break the law was a grave offense.
Startled, Faang Xinghang recognized the name, "Wen Shenyuan, the Eagle Hero?" Wen Shenyuan had a significant reputation in the martial world, a general within the Vigilante Group capable of leading on his own, with skills reaching the lower echelons of Martial King status.
After a brief hesitation, Faang Xinghang decided to trust Wen Shenyuan—it was his only option. If the trio from the Vigilante Group had ill intentions, he could handle them, but time was against him. Any delay could mean Bai Chengcheng and the others would be engulfed by the tsunami without a trace.
Taking the two with him, Faang Xinghang left first. Minutes later, as the trio from the Vigilante Group flew past, Wen Shenyuan scooped up Fan Gongming and followed in Faang Xinghang's wake.
With the advantage of flight, the tsunami was no longer a concern. Faang Xinghang urged the students in the group chat to keep running towards higher ground, the farther the better. He commanded the business jet to take off in search of a safe landing spot on higher terrain. He, however, descended to the campsite to retrieve the container holding his mech, left outside his tent.
Upon landing, Faang Xinghang set down Bai Chengcheng and Lu Youzhi. His focus shifted to Wen Shenyuan and his companions, inadvertently overlooking Bai Chengcheng's injuries.
Faang Xinghang rose to welcome the trio, concerned they might have abducted Fan Gongming. They landed gracefully, gesturing with open hands to indicate they were unarmed, which allowed Faang Xinghang to breathe easier.
He gave the trio a quick look, having no time to confront Wen Shenyuan and the others about their breach of protocol. With a nod to Lu Youzhi, he hoisted Bai Chengcheng in one arm and his metal case in the other, and took off to the south once more. Simultaneously, he radioed the military to urgently dispatch a medic.
Sensibly, Wen Shenyuan and his companions picked up Fan Gongming and Lu Youzhi, taking to the skies again to follow Faang Xinghang as he pursued the fleeing students.
After about ten kilometers, they reached a tall slope. Faang Xinghang touched down, gently laying Bai Chengcheng on the ground, before rushing back to aid the stragglers, urging everyone to head for the slope.
The three vigilantes mirrored Faang Xinghang's efforts, lending their strength to the cause.
Once everyone had assembled on the hillside, the tsunami crashed onto the shore.
From their elevated vantage point, the sight of the colossal waves, like an army of horses in full charge, left everyone shaken. The Heavenly Arrow was now completely engulfed by the sea, vanished from sight. To the east, the sea level was visibly higher than in the west, relentlessly pushing westward.
Wen Shenyuan, peering through binoculars, couldn't help but revel in the moment, "Hehe, the Heavenly Star Association has taken a massive hit this time."
Faang Xinghang snapped to attention and demanded, "What are you doing here? Who are those attackers?"
Wen Shenyuan replied, "If I told you we're only here for the meteorite, would you believe me?"
Faang Xinghang fixed him with a steely gaze. "What do you think?" The idea that the country's two most notorious gangs, the Three Pure Ones and the Great Eastern Sea, were here just for a meteorite seemed far-fetched.
Wen Shenyuan shrugged, "Whether you believe it or not, we truly came for the meteorite."
Faang Xinghang inquired, "What about the meteorites you all were searching for?"
Wen Shenyuan forced a wry smile. "Luck wasn't on our side. We didn't find any." He then addressed Lu Youzhi, "Young man, it seems you've found a few. Would you consider selling them to us? We can negotiate a fair price."
Faang Xinghang interjected with an icy tone, "First things first. Unless you clarify matters, forget about purchasing meteorites—you won't be leaving Primarch anytime soon."
One of Wen Shenyuan's henchmen, the burly and intimidating Liu Tiekui, scoffed, "Do you really think you can detain us?"
Wen Shenyuan quickly intervened to prevent Liu Tiekui from escalating the confrontation and asked Faang Xinghang, "On what grounds?"
Faang Xinghang let out a cold huff, "Martial King registration."
Wen Shenyuan paused, realizing he had overlooked that detail.
Martial Kings, with their bare-handed strength reaching thousands of tons and augmented by high-tech weaponry, possessed destructive power comparable to a humanoid nuclear bomb. Consequently, the global rule mandated that Martial Kings and those of higher rank must report to local authorities before entering or exiting any planet. As a Martial King, Wen Shenyuan was obliged to notify the official bodies of each planet he visited.
The Vigilante Group, being a grassroots organization, didn't hold much reverence for official regulations, which explained their oversight. Otherwise, why would they be known for breaking the law with martial prowess? If Faang Xinghang chose to hold them accountable, Wen Shenyuan and his group wouldn't dare resist, unless the Vigilante Group was ready to be branded as an outlawed or anti-government entity.
Left with no choice, Wen Shenyuan conceded, "Alright, you win. Brother Faang, have you ever heard of the living warship seed?"
Rumors in the underworld spoke of a peculiar seed that, when cultivated in metal as its soil, would grow into a colossal, shape-shifting living warship with formidable capabilities and combat power, including the ability to warp—a feat not yet achieved by the Orion Civilization. Such tales were dismissed by mainstream society as mere fiction.
Faang Xinghang nodded in confusion, "I've heard a little about it. Does the esteemed Eagle Hero really believe in those baseless legends?"
Wen Shenyuan chuckled, "Baseless, you say? Belief makes it real, disbelief renders it nonexistent. Do you know who attacked you?"
"I was hoping you could enlighten me," Faang Xinghang responded.
"The Thirteen Dungeons," Wen Shenyuan revealed.
Faang Xinghang was taken aback. The Thirteen Dungeons was originally an alliance of eighteen formidable Alien Thief groups. Each group's leader and the organization itself were named after the legendary Eighteen Kings of Hell. They had been repeatedly targeted and nearly wiped out by various nations, leaving only thirteen remaining. They referred to themselves as the Thirteen Kings, while outsiders called them the Thirteen Hells.
The Thirteen Dungeons had become even more powerful than the original Eighteen Dungeons because a mysterious figure, who was at least a high-ranking Martial King, had unified them and taken command as their leader.
Wen Shenyuan went on, "The goal of the Heavenly Star Association is the same. They were tasked by the Three Clarity Sect to compete with the forces of King Song Jiang, one of the Thirteen Dungeons, for the living warship seed."
"I see. So, you're planning to play the opportunist. What does this have to do with diamonds or meteors?" Faang Xinghang inquired.
"About seven or eight years ago, the Thirteen Dungeons stumbled upon a miraculous object from outer space that defied analysis by any instrument. An Alien Thief carelessly discarded it in a heap of scrap metal. But then, something extraordinary occurred: the object began to consume the metal and slowly grow, taking on a form resembling a warship.
The Alien Thieves grew curious and dissected the miniature 'warship' for study, yet they still couldn't determine its composition. After placing all the fragments back into the metal heap for close observation, they discovered that the pieces had inexplicably reassembled themselves. Moreover, in the presence of sunlight, it continued to consume metal and grow at a gradual pace. They concluded it was a living warship seed, as described in records from the ruins of a bygone civilization.
When word got out, it sparked a frenzy of attacks from all sides. And their enigmatic leader? He too was drawn by the allure of the 'seed'."
Before the leader made his appearance, King Song stashed the living warship seed aboard a transport ship carrying diamonds. The ship was attacked not far from the Eternal River Star Domain. The warship was shattered, and the 'seed' vanished. The ship's cargo of ores scattered into space, becoming meteors."
Faang Xinghang was still puzzled. "Even if there is such a thing as a warship seed, how can you be sure it ended up on Primarch Star?"
Wen Shenyuan replied, "We can't be certain, but what is certain is that the meteor shower at the start of the year on Primarch Star was actually a tiny fraction of the mined ores. Though the odds are slim, you're aware of the allure a living warship with jump capabilities holds. Even a one-in-a-billion chance is worth pursuing."
The ability for a warship to jump was coveted by all. With such capability, it could break free from fixed routes, appearing and disappearing at will, and its combat power would surge to a new level. Humanity could then transcend the confines of the Orion Arm and venture to the Perseus Arm or the Shield-Crux Arm, perhaps even explore the entire Milky Way or contemplate reaching galaxies beyond.
Faang Xinghang mused, "How can you be so certain that the meteorite my student found is the warship seed?"
Wen Shenyuan chuckled, "How could that be? You know our creed at Vigilante A: to draw our swords and aid those facing injustice. We simply lent a hand when we saw your student being pursued by the Thirteen Dungeons."
Faang Xinghang scoffed, "You expect me to believe that?"
Wen Shenyuan stated frankly, "The fact is, we were indeed helping."
Faang Xinghang couldn't argue with that; without these three individuals today, a student might have indeed been caught in a tsunami.
Wen Shenyuan went on, "Buying their meteorites was also a way of helping—a big help at that."
Faang Xinghang instantly grasped the significance. They had indeed provided substantial assistance.
