C12 Nofalling Forest
Early the next morning, Yeh Yulin left the small courtyard and made his way to the Yeh Family's significant training ground: the No-falling Forest.
Before his departure, Twilight spoke with a heavy heart, "If you're set on cultivating, then truly embark on the path of cultivation. You'll never mature in the comfort of a greenhouse. Combat is the quickest path to growth!"
"In the No-falling Forest, there are not only Devil Beasts but also... humans!"
...
The No-falling Forest is situated alongside No-falling City, the ancestral home of the Yeh Family.
Yeh Yulin's residence was within the No-falling Forest, albeit in a residential section, heavily guarded at its perimeter.
Yeh Yulin wasn't the sole inhabitant; numerous Yeh Family elders lived there too, indifferent to worldly matters, focusing on personal cultivation and spiritual growth. Hence, despite the partial merging of No-falling City with the No-falling Forest, there was no concern about Devil Beasts causing chaos.
The elders would effortlessly dismantle any Devil Beast that dared to intrude.
Within the No-falling Forest lay a battlefield.
Teeming with Devil Beasts, the forest was a daily training ground for the Yeh Family's formidable warriors.
Vast in size, the No-falling Forest dwarfed No-falling City, which the Yeh Family had managed for millennia, spanning the size of several provinces.
The Yeh Family's patriarch, Ye Tianji, once prized the No-falling Forest for its concealed advantages, choosing to establish No-falling City there. His decision proved astute, as countless Yeh Family members honed their skills in battle within the forest, emerging from mediocrity to awaken in bloodshed and become the family's pillars of strength.
Those gravely wounded benefited from the proximity of No-falling Forest to No-falling City, receiving prompt medical attention and thus conserving family resources.
The No-falling Forest, with its sporadic beast tides threatening No-falling City, served as the nurturing wings for the growth of the No-falling Night Clan.
Yeh Yulin, a Second Grade Battle Soldier ignited with two Spirit Flames, possessed both the Holy Body and Devil Body, boasting astonishing defense and recovery abilities. Today, he ventured into the No-falling Forest to embark on his journey of growth.
"Single-horn Wolf, a Second Grade Devil Beast, capable of unleashing its innate 'Wind Blade' power from its horn."
Yeh Yulin gazed at the first Devil Beast he encountered in the No-falling Forest, a complex smile playing at the corner of his mouth. Thoughts of Yeh Haishan and Kong Yaer flashed through his mind almost instantly.
But he had little time to dwell on memories, as the Single-horn Wolf had keenly spotted him. The beast's fierce eyes locked onto Yeh Yulin.
In the realm of perception, a Devil Beast far surpassed a human.
The wolf howled, and without a moment's hesitation, the Single-horn Wolf lunged at Yeh Yulin, its blood-red eyes gleaming with a brutal light, clearly seeing him as a hearty meal.
"How familiar this feels!" A slight smile curled Yeh Yulin's lips.
This was his first time engaging in direct combat with a Devil Beast, facing an old adversary, yet his heart remained tranquil.
Now, everything had changed. Not just for him, but also for the Single-horn Wolf that was now leaping towards him.
"I've defeated you before using my intellect. This time, I'll do it differently."
Yeh Yulin grasped a large axe, his gaze fixed on the oncoming Single-horn Wolf as his blood began to surge. A soft glow of Spiritual Force enveloped him, and the twin Spirit Flames within him burned fiercely, fueling him with power.
"Like this!"
With a thunderous roar, Yeh Yulin swung the axe, creating a whirlwind that viciously struck at the Single-horn Wolf. The wolf's eyes flickered with scorn as it agilely sidestepped, ready to evade the blow and deliver a deadly counterattack to Yeh Yulin.
The cumbersome axe was not easily wielded; its great weight, once swung and missed, would leave Yeh Yulin momentarily vulnerable.
And in that instant, the Single-horn Wolf would seize its moment to strike.
While the idea was solid, executing it proved to be quite challenging. The Single-horn Wolf was terrified to discover that as Yeh Yulin swung his axe, a mysterious suction force emerged, pulling him towards the impending strike. Such a phenomenon only occurred when one's strength was immense. What incredible power did this young man possess?
"Awoo!" In a panic as the axe neared, the Single-horn Wolf let out a roar. A flash of green light sparked from its horn, and a gust of wind materialized, propelling the wolf away from Yeh Yulin's attack.
"Roar!" Having evaded the attack, the Single-horn Wolf emitted a deep growl, now fully aware of Yeh Yulin's formidable strength.
"Why hide? Come and battle!" Yeh Yulin's eyes gleamed with excitement as he saw the Single-horn Wolf dodge. He bellowed and swung his axe with even greater ferocity, launching an aggressive assault on the wolf.
Contrarily, the Single-horn Wolf felt a twinge of fear towards Yeh Yulin's wild energy. The unexpected suction force had left it wary and hesitant. Ultimately, it chose not to confront the axe directly but instead swerved aside, missing its chance to counterattack.
"Hahahahaha!" Yeh Yulin's momentum soared with each attack. His growls echoed as he wielded the axe, which, despite weighing over 100 kilograms, seemed as light as a stick in his hands. He swung with such force that each strike seamlessly transitioned into the next, relentlessly driving the Single-horn Wolf back, leaving it no option but to continuously evade.
"Hehe, keep hiding. I'm curious to see how long you can last," Yeh Yulin taunted, his blood pumping ever faster, his breaths growing heavier with excitement. To confront the Single-horn Wolf head-on was something he had never before dared to dream of. Yet now, under his overwhelming power, the wolf couldn't muster the strength to resist. This was the true essence of power—his newfound strength.
The Spirit Flame had ascended to the second level, and with it, my strength had at least doubled, and my speed had seen a corresponding increase. Coupled with my extraordinary healing abilities and the realm of Spiritual Energy Intent Transforming, I was now at least five times more formidable than before I had tapped into my power.
"Go ahead and hide, it doesn't matter. Just one hit from me and it's over for you. And make no mistake, I will land that hit!" Amidst a frenzied onslaught, Yeh Yulin's laughter roared, his eyes piercingly cold.
The Single-horn Wolf seemed to grasp the gravity of Yeh Yulin's words, its body shuddering, a momentary hesitation in its evasive maneuvers. Yeh Yulin seized the opening without hesitation. His axe sliced through the wolf's leg as if it were mere paper, leaving its feet suspended in midair, severed from its body.
"Awoo!"
The wolf's anguished cry came only after it hit the ground, but before it could even finish, Yeh Yulin's axe had already cleaved its head in two. In that instant, the Single-horn Wolf's head split apart.
"Is this what power feels like?" Yeh Yulin mused, a slow grin spreading across his face that erupted into maniacal laughter. "This power, my own power! Haha, hahaha!"
His laughter echoed, his eyes brimming with self-assurance. His blood surged within him, his vitality more robust than ever. The twin Spirit Flames blazed intensely, continuously infusing Yeh Yulin with strength.
"I've got this!" Yeh Yulin proclaimed with confidence. "Even if my Spiritual Force falls short of others, my overall prowess more than compensates. Besides, diligence can overcome any shortfall. As long as I train harder and longer than anyone else each day, I can surely recover any deficit."
Yeh Yulin extracted the horn from the Single-horn Wolf, the beast's most prized possession, suitable for crafting a weapon with wind attributes. The rest he discarded without a second thought.
He had changed; the pittance gained from trading the wolf's hide and flesh was now beneath Yeh Yulin's notice. That time could be better spent hunting another Devil Beast.
He charged once more into the depths of the No-falling Forest.
He was determined to fight and become a formidable warrior.
"Roar!"
Shortly after Yeh Yulin had departed, a low roar echoed through the forest. A bear emerged, eyeing the corpse of a wolf on the ground. Drool dripped from the corner of its mouth as it lunged at the fallen prey.
Yet, it failed to rise again. As it pounced on the wolf's body, a sword thrust through its skull, pinning it to the earth.
"Single-horn Wolf!?"
A hand, as smooth as jade, delicately extracted the sword from the bear's cranium. Bright eyes scanned the area, and in a refined tone, she murmured to herself, "Who could have done this? There's not a single trace left behind, and..."
Her gaze settled on the Single-horn Wolf's head, where a deep gash spoke of its former owner's ferocious power.
"Such raw power. Who possesses such strength? No matter, it's none of my concern."
With a slight shake of her head, her silver locks danced in the breeze, and just like that, she vanished...
After the silver-haired woman had gone, several others arrived at the scene. Had Yeh Yulin been there, he would have instantly recognized them, with Yeh Haishan leading the group.
They, too, had come to the No-falling Forest.
