C19 Nuwa Became a Saint(part I)

"Swish!"

"Swish!"

The sounds of slicing through the air followed one after another. Dayi's thoughts shifted rapidly, yet his hands never ceased their movements. Each swish marked the end of a Golden Crow's life.

In a brief moment, the ten formidable Golden Crows that had plagued the Wizard Clan lay dead.

Within the Purple Heaven Palace, Hongjun, having just returned to the Silent Room, wore a fluctuating expression.

The secret force he had implanted within the ten great Golden Crows had been undone.

Though to him this force was but a trifle, it was still the might of a sage, and supposedly beyond anyone's ability to break.

"Another twist of fate?"

Confusion clouded Hongjun's eyes as he sensed the Dao Charm emanating from the Creation Jade Plate.

"Divine powers fall short against the unpredictable..."

"Could this be the trial of my Dao Integration?"

Once, the Demon King Mo Yi represented his trial to sainthood. Now, was he to face an unforeseen trial in his pursuit of Dao Integration?

Hongjun regained his composure. He had ascended to sainthood by slaying Demon King Mo Yi. This time, he was determined to triumph in his Dao Integration.

"Though unexpected, I still have control over the situation."

Hongjun closed his eyes, immersing himself in the Dao Integration process.

The ten great Golden Crows should not have perished so easily, yet it was preferable to their capture. With the Demon Monarch's offspring eliminated, an ultimate confrontation between the Wizard and Demon clans was inevitable.

The Aeon would persist, and Hongjun dismissed the thought of intervening once more.

The less he intervened, the fewer weaknesses he would expose. This was the wisdom Hongjun had gleaned from facing tribulations. After all, Demon Kylin had perished by his hand in what was both his first and final act of confrontation.

...

On the Witch Demon Battlefield, the Wizard Clan was tending to the aftermath.

They gathered the bodies of their fallen and collected the remains of the Golden Crows.

Houtu's demeanor shifted as she noticed her elder brother, Dijiang, approaching.

"Big brother, that elder has a penchant for hunting. I'd like to offer some Golden Crow meat as a token of our thanks."

"That's appropriate."

Dijiang responded nonchalantly with a wave of his hand, his face then lighting up with delight. The Demon Clan had the backing of a sage, and now their Wizard Clan also boasted a formidable ally.

"Why not let me accompany you to deliver the meat?"

In their earlier conversation at Pangu Hall, Dijiang and the other Ancestral Witches learned that Houtu had acquired her soul and powers through a mere cup of tea.

At the time, the Ancestral Witches were half-believers at best.

The idea that a cup of tea could endow soulless Ancestral Witches with magical powers seemed like a tall tale, even in the treasure-laden desolate era.

But after witnessing the bow's peculiar and lethal force, no one harbored doubts about its capabilities any longer.

An entity bold enough to defy the Dao Ancestor and the Sage surely possessed extraordinary abilities!

Houtu hesitated, "That individual is a recluse and likely prefers not to be disturbed by many. Bringing Dayi along due to the dire circumstances was already a breach of etiquette..."

Dijiang had an epiphany, "Then I shall not intrude. You go by yourself. Agree to any requests this person might have. Our Wizard Clan will spare no effort to fulfill them!"

Dijiang instructed her with sincerity, knowing a Sage had intervened in the Wizard-Demon conflict. It was crucial for the Wizard Clan to secure an alliance with one who could challenge such a being.

Houtu nodded slightly. At her side, Dayi, who had remained silent since the battle's end, suddenly spoke up.

"Ancestral Witch, I wish to pay another visit to that individual!"

Houtu paused, then her brows knitted slightly, "You've repeatedly challenged the Elder before, yet they were generous enough not to take offense. This time..."

Dayi's cheeks flushed, barely noticeable against his dark complexion, "I was blind before, unable to recognize a true master!"

"Ancestral Witch, I come to make amends. If the master is upset, let the punishment fall on me alone. My actions must not tarnish the Wizard Clan's standing with them!"

Moved by Dayi's earnestness, Dijiang gave a subtle nod of approval. Houtu consented.

Without further delay, they took portions of the Golden Crow's flesh and the Stone Bow and set off for Buzhou Mountain.

Though both the Ancestral Witches and Dayi coveted the Stone Bow, they ultimately refrained from claiming it, allowing Houtu to return it to Buzhou Mountain as a gesture of good faith.

As the ten great Golden Crows met their demise, Nuwa sat by the riverbank, her eyes closed for an extended period. In a sudden moment, her eyes snapped open, the aura of a Quasi Saint transforming into an even more enigmatic and profound mystic rhythm. This rhythm permeated the heavens and earth, creating a spectacle of wonders: Golden lotuses blossomed, True Dragons soared, and True Phoenixes sang, their mystical Dao tune spreading across the vast Desolate.

Atop Kunlun, within the Three Purities Palace, Yuanshi, Taiyi, and Tongtian emerged, gazing into the distance. "Is it truly her who has become a saint first?!" Yuanshi murmured, his expression fluctuating. Taiyi and Tongtian, too, wore looks of dismay. These three had always prided themselves as the legitimate successors of Pangu, holding little reverence for even Hongjun in their hearts. Yet, to their astonishment, while they, the orthodox of the Profound Sect, saw sainthood as a distant dream, someone else had already reached it before them.

In the Purple Heaven Palace, Hongjun's eyes flickered open and shut. Nuwa's ascension to sainthood was something he had anticipated, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss, though he couldn't pinpoint exactly what.

Over at the Demon Court, Dijun and Taiyi had barely stepped back into the palace when they sensed the overwhelming presence of the Sage. The brothers, born of the sun, exchanged a glance, each recognizing the concern etched on the other's face. The emergence of another saint posed a significant threat to the Demon Race's ambitions for dominion...

As the Great Wilderness trembled under Nuwa's saintly might, she rose from the river's edge. "I've come to an understanding!" Fuxi, bracing against the saintly pressure, inquired with due reverence, "May I ask what enlightenment the saint has reached?" The respect in his voice was a testament to the chasm that lay between mortals and the transcendent saints. To address her as 'little sister' now would invite the wrath of her saintly destiny, enough to obliterate Fuxi.

"The human race that you spoke of, big brother!" Nuwa exclaimed. "I've finally grasped the essence of the human race! All beings in the universe coexist, and regardless of whether they are demons, immortals, or gods, upon reaching a certain level of cultivation, they all manifest their innate Dao Body. Yet, this world is missing one—a race inherently born with a Dao Body!" With those words, Nuwa swept her sleeve, and the Nine-heaven Resting Soil materialized at her side.

Nuwa's fingers danced, and one by one, tiny mud figures began to emerge.

As these diminutive beings, bearing a resemblance to Nuwa and Fuxi, materialized, the aura of creation surrounding Nuwa seemed to find an outlet, infusing the little mud figures with its essence.

Instantly, the figures sprang to life, prostrating themselves before Nuwa in reverence.

"We honor you, Mother of Humanity!"

Nuwa observed the joyous dance and song of her human creations and gently shook her head, "This is not sufficient."

"My brother has said that humanity is destined to be the protagonist of heaven and earth, with boundless potential ahead."

A rosy hue bloomed at Nuwa's fingertips, startling Fuxi, "Is that the sacred blood of the Saints?"

With a subtle nod, Nuwa confirmed, "Only with this can humanity firmly establish itself amidst the primordial chaos."

The sacred blood transformed into luminous streams, infusing the humans with its power.

Then, with a wooden whip in hand, Nuwa stirred the Nine-heaven Resting Soil. Countless specks of earth descended, and with the enhancement of the Daoist creation runes, they too took on the form of humans.
