C2 Dao Law Dishes

In this era, before Hongjun had revealed the path to sainthood, it was common knowledge that the pinnacle of existence was to become a Great Net Golden Immortal.

Only beings with extraordinary talents, like the earlier Fuxi, could faintly perceive that there might be a realm beyond the Golden Immortal Stage.

Yet, when the aroma of the meal wafted into the nostrils of Fuxi and Nuwa, their complete Golden Immortal Stage began to waver ever so slightly.

It was a minuscule shift, imperceptible to the ear, but nonetheless astonishing. One only needed to see the utter astonishment on Fuxi and Nuwa's faces to understand the impact.

Zhang Yan caught the scent as well, but it stirred nothing within him – he was, after all, the cook.

"Oh no, I nearly forgot about the food cooking inside!" exclaimed Zhang Yan, smacking his forehead before dashing into the inner room.

Only after Zhang Yan vanished from view did the shock on Fuxi and Nuwa's faces begin to fade.

"I can't detect it anymore. What kind of being is he?" Fuxi's divine sense surged into the inner room from his brow, yet he could not pick up even a trace of a living being's aura.

The clanging of pots and pans inside, however, incessantly reminded Fuxi that someone was indeed there.

Such a stark contrast between his judgment and the findings of his divine sense nearly unnerved Fuxi. He was starting to question whether Zhang Yan could even be classified as a living being.

"Could this be the Buzhou Mountain? Is it possible that this individual is the Great God Pangu resurrected?" Fuxi's mind raced with wild speculations.

Nuwa, on the other hand, didn't entertain as many thoughts as Fuxi. She gazed at the inner room, quietly swallowing, "Brother, what exactly is he cooking that emits such an extraordinary fragrance?"

The mere scent had altered the cultivation levels of two Golden Immortals – such a marvel. Was this person possibly using a multitude of Innate Spirit Roots to prepare the meal?

In the midst of their conversation, Zhang Yan emerged, carrying the dishes. Noticing the siblings still standing, he offered a warm smile and said, "I've whipped up a few simple dishes. Let's enjoy them together."

As he spoke, several dishes were set upon the stone table.

Fuxi and Nuwa, lured by the scent, turned their gaze toward the stone table. The plates bore simple fare—ordinary vegetables and meats, a far cry from the exquisite delicacies they had envisioned, crafted from Innate Spirit Roots.

Yet, the extraordinary fragrance wafted from these very ordinary meals. Now, brought within such close proximity, the aroma intensified, its effects increasingly astounding.

"If I could bask in this unique scent for centuries, I'm certain I'd achieve a breakthrough!" Fuxi mused silently, his astonishment growing. Could the mere scent of food wield such power?

While Fuxi was riddled with doubt, maintaining his poise, Nuwa was less encumbered by such thoughts. Nuwa, not yet a saint, had neither created humanity nor mended the heavens, and without such burdens, her spirit was light and joyful.

Another gulp of saliva betrayed her struggle against the enticing aroma of the dishes.

"Well then, I won't hold back!" she declared.

No sooner had the words left her lips than Nuwa took her seat, eagerly reaching for her chopsticks.

But with her first bite, Nuwa was struck motionless, her eyes widening with incredulity.

The moment she swallowed, a Dao Law materialized and was assimilated by her.

"It's imbued with a Dao Law!" Nuwa gasped, awestruck.

"What?! A Dao Law?" Fuxi, overhearing, could no longer contain himself. He quickly took his seat, grabbed a morsel, and sat down to meditate upon it.

As he contemplated the enigmatic runes emerging within him, Fuxi's eyes snapped open, his voice tinged with excitement, "It truly is a Dao Law!"

The Dao Law, the principle of the Great Dao, was paramount. At the Golden Immortal stage, the augmentation of magical power paled in importance. To advance, one must grasp the essence of the Great Dao Law.

Previously, Fuxi and Nuwa had departed Buzhou Mountain, wandering the vast primordial wilderness for eons, seeking to understand the Great Dao amidst the dust of the world.

And now, the Dao Law he treasured was ingeniously infused into an unassuming dish before him. What manner of skill was this? It was beyond comprehension.

"Mmm, delicious!" Fuxi was roused from his shock by some peculiar noises, and as he glanced over, he saw his little sister had abandoned all pretense of ladylike behavior, devouring her meal with gusto.

"Little sister, you..." Fuxi, seeing this, became frantic. He tossed aside any thoughts of Zhang Yan's enigmatic ways and engaged in a fierce competition with Nuwa for the food, "Save some for me!"

"There's hardly any left for me either!"

When Zhang Yan returned from the kitchen with more dishes, he was greeted by the sight of the siblings vying for the last serving.

"Haha, seems like my cooking's pretty good, huh?" Zhang Yan chuckled. His culinary skills were touted as the finest in all creation by that dubious system.

But Zhang Yan never took that claim seriously. After all, what good was being a master chef?

"It's truly wonderful," Nuwa managed to say amidst the bustle, bringing a smile to Zhang Yan's face. It appeared the siblings were emerging from the grief of losing their brother.

"This is actually the first time I've cooked for someone else. Whenever I made food for our big brother, he'd always turn it down, claiming that as a cultivator, he subsisted on nothing but the essence of nature, shunning worldly fare."

Zhang Yan was lost in thought, a wave of nostalgia washing over him.

Nuwa and Fuxi looked incredulous as they finished their meal. This was food infused with the essence of the Dao. If word got out, the whole cosmos would be clamoring for a taste.

Who in the world could possibly refuse such a rare treat?

"Take your time eating, slow down," Zhang Yan advised as he sat down, watching the siblings eat with fervor. His own big brother, though well-meaning, had been too carefree in his ways.

Always wandering, he had neglected the fact that he had siblings at home who, judging by their eagerness, seemed to have not enjoyed a proper meal in years.

It was truly heart-wrenching.

"Once we're done eating, we should pack up and leave Buzhou Mountain," Zhang Yan suggested, prompting the siblings, who had been intently focused on their food, to look up in astonishment. "Leave?"

"This is our home. Where would we go if we leave?" Nuwa asked, her tone including Zhang Yan as part of the family.

Fuxi caught the implication but didn't object. After all, having someone capable of creating Dao-infused dishes as a big brother... that didn't seem too bad at all.

"Let's head to a safe haven. Buzhou Mountain may be beautiful, but it's not the best place to settle down."

Fuxi and Nuwa were taken aback. They had been born there and never found anything amiss with Buzhou Mountain.

Yet, when Zhang Yan, who had crafted the Dao's culinary laws, spoke such words, the siblings couldn't help but take him seriously.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Indeed, you're quite young and unaware of the world's dangers!" Zhang Yan elaborated.

"Buzhou Mountain is the crux of the entire primordial world, the birthplace of numerous deities. Should these great gods unleash their wrath, we lesser beings would suffer the consequences!"

Exchanging glances, Fuxi and Nuwa almost chuckled. As beings of Golden Immortal Perfection, they hardly had reason to fear the neighbors of Buzhou Mountain.
