C4 Hongjun Became a Saint
The two beams of light were subtle, emerging from the waist of Buzhou Mountain and streaking swiftly toward the horizon.
Within the luminescence, siblings Fuxi and Nuwa were deep in conversation, their subject being Zhang Yan.
"Do you believe what he told us, little sister?" Fuxi broke the silence with this question.
"We've crossed into an entirely new realm in just the time it took to share a meal," Nuwa reflected, then added, "Someone with such abilities—I can't fathom what they'd gain by deceiving us."
"I'm at a loss as well!" Fuxi agreed, his face breaking into a curious smile. "It seems we're quite fortunate to have such a brother!"
Nuwa smiled in response, about to speak, when a supreme pressure emanated from the depths of the Chaos beyond the ancient world. Simultaneously, a serene voice echoed through the cosmos.
"Reclining amidst the nine heavens, the true path of the Dao is revealed. One sage imparts wisdom to three friends, and two sects diverge. The leader of the Profound Sect transforms into Hongjun!"
"I am Hongjun. On this day of my ascension to sagehood, I shall hold a discourse at the Purple Heaven Palace, imparting the sacred method of enlightenment. All those destined may come and listen!"
This voice, imbued with a unique Dao Charm and accompanied by ceaseless thunder, enlightened all cultivators in the ancient world to the location of the Purple Heaven Palace.
"Boom!"
The entire ancient world teetered on the brink of upheaval. Above the realm of the Origin Immortal, a higher plane existed, and someone had ascended to it.
The Dao Charm and might within Hongjun's proclamation caused even the Golden Immortals to shudder, as if in the presence of the universe itself.
"Let's go! We must reach the Purple Heaven Palace and learn the sacred method!"
Throughout the wilderness, reclusive beings emerged from their sanctuaries, drawn toward the chaos.
Even from Buzhou Mountain, formidable figures awoke, their gazes piercing into the chaos.
Fuxi and Nuwa, transformed into twin streams of light, were suddenly frozen in mid-flight. Their abrupt halt from breakneck speed to utter stillness nearly overwhelmed the fabric of the ancient world's space.
"Squeak!"
A grating sound echoed through the void, and for a brief moment, it seemed as if a spatial rift had flickered into existence.
"Big brother... he was actually telling the truth!" Nuwa finally managed to speak after a long silence.
Fuxi was equally stunned. They had never doubted Zhang Yan's words, but witnessing the reality unfold before them was still hard to believe.
In the ancient wilderness, many beings skilled in divination possessed the ability to foresee the future. Fuxi, for instance, was a master of this art.
Yet, no matter their expertise in divination, predicting the ways of the saints was impossible, for saints were no longer counted among the living and had transcended the mortal realm.
But their elder brother had done it with ease, and his predictions seemed to have come true.
"Our elder brother's power... it might surpass even that of a saint," Fuxi concluded with astonishment, while Nuwa, standing beside him, showed no hint of skepticism and nodded in agreement.
"It seems very likely!"
"Brother, we should make haste. Big Brother mentioned that only those who claim the foremost cushions in the Purple Heaven Palace will have the chance to ascend to sainthood!"
Fuxi gave a slight nod, "Let's go!"
The two figures transformed into streaks of light, racing across the sky once more. This time, the siblings unleashed their full Quasi Saint Level speed, creating sonic booms in their wake.
Their passage caught the attention of many onlookers.
The entire Primal Chaos trembled with the proclamation from Hongjun, the foremost Saint of the age. Yet, the courtyard nestled on the slopes of Buzhou Mountain remained as tranquil as an untouched haven.
Zhang Yan stood outside the courtyard, listening to the relentless peals of thunder, and shook his head in disbelief, "Even the weather in the Primal Chaos is treacherous, thundering out of a clear sky."
In his hands, he held a freshly crafted animal trap and began setting up defenses around the courtyard perimeter. The unreliable system, at least, had maxed out his wilderness survival skills, making trap construction a breeze.
Zhang Yan couldn't help but feel a bit helpless; the area outside the courtyard was barren. If wild beasts launched an attack, he'd have nowhere to flee, so preparing some defenses was essential.
As Zhang Yan was in the midst of arranging security for the courtyard, two beams of light reached the entrance of the Purple Heaven Palace amidst the swirling Primal Chaos. They circled briefly before descending onto the plaza in front of the palace.
The light faded, revealing the figures of the siblings, Fuxi and Nuwa.
Traveling with the swiftness of Quasi Emperors, they had finally made their way here, only to find the plaza already bustling with others who had arrived before them.
These individuals were fortunate; they had been close enough to respond quickly when Hongjun's message echoed throughout the world.
A quick glance from Fuxi confirmed that none were weak. Indeed, it would be impossible for the feeble to traverse the perilous Chaos to reach this place.
Among the crowd stood out three figures with particularly profound cultivation: an elder in simple hemp clothing, a stern-faced, sword-bearing middle-aged man, and a black-robed, white-haired youth. Fuxi noted that these three were on the cusp of the Quasi Saint Stage.
Exchanging a look with Nuwa, they felt a mix of awe and gratitude. The world was indeed filled with innumerable mighty beings. Had it not been for their elder brother's guidance to the Quasi Saint Stage ahead of time, the chance to ascend to sainthood might have slipped through their fingers.
While Fuxi and Nuwa were being assessed by the crowd, their piercing gazes also sized up the newcomers, all eyes gleaming with the intent to gauge their prowess.
With a shared snort of disdain, Fuxi and Nuwa unleashed an overwhelming presence, causing a stir among the onlookers.
"Such an aura surpasses even that of a Golden Immortal!"
"Heavens, could they have already ascended to sainthood?"
The exclamations rippled through the crowd as they gazed at the siblings, their scrutiny replaced by a newfound reverence.
In these primordial times, simplicity reigned, and the law of the land was clear: respect was reserved for the mighty.
As the aura of the Quasi Saints emanated from Fuxi and Nuwa, an elder seated on a meditation cushion inside the Purple Heaven Palace abruptly opened his eyes. The surrounding Chaos Qi was violently disrupted, eradicated in its entirety by their formidable presence.
"The presence of a Quasi Saint... when did such a being emerge in the Primordial Era?" The elder murmured, his eyes, usually brimming with wisdom and clarity, now clouded with bewilderment.
Time in the Primordial Era was an immeasurable expanse, yet only three to five days had passed since Hongjun had broadcast his message to the world. In such a fleeting span, not even the most extraordinary of talents could ascend to the Quasi Saint stage.
And yet, two Quasi Saints had emerged simultaneously.
The possibility that these Quasi Saints had come into being before Hongjun's announcement was something he didn't even entertain. Before his time, the very notion of a Saint was nonexistent.
Contemplating this, a magnificent disc materialized behind Hongjun's head. Shrouded in primordial chaos, the disc was a nexus where the laws of the Great Dao intertwined, seemingly the birthplace of the world's Great Dao itself.
This was none other than Hongjun's Dao Manifestation, the Creation Jade Plate.
At present, the Creation Jade Plate rotated languidly, its many enigmatic essences intertwining as Hongjun employed it to divine the mysteries of the cosmos and discern the origins of the two Quasi Saints.
With his impending unification with the Dao and a myriad of grand designs awaiting, the commencement of his teachings marked the beginning of his grand scheme, leaving no room for the unforeseen.
Yet, inexplicably, the rotation of the Creation Jade Plate grew sluggish and, in a singular moment, ground to a halt.
