C15 Ye Fann's Furious Slash on the Giant Rhinoceros King

The Great Wilderness Land stretched out, vast and infinite.

Demons were innumerable, each one wild and untamed, believing themselves to be the sovereigns of this ancient land, acting with complete disregard for any laws.

Their daily activities kept them exceedingly occupied.

However, since Ye Fann had led the Devil Subduing Army down to the Lower Realms a hundred times, striking terror into the hearts of these demons, they had significantly reined in their behavior.

This allowed him and his companion a rare moment of respite.

"Are there still demons causing trouble in the Great Wilderness Land?" Ye Fann inquired.

The Devil Subduing Army had been in a state of rest for over a year now.

If there were any disturbances, Ye Fann wouldn't hesitate to use the blood of these demon tribes to intensify the ferocity of his martial spirit.

"Currently, there's no significant turmoil in the Great Wilderness Land," came the reply.

"However, in the Lower Realms, a place known as Mei Mountain has become a gathering point for seven demons at the Golden Immortal Stage, posing a considerable threat."

Upon hearing this, Ye Fann felt a surge of interest.

The Seven Monsters of Mei Mountain!

They were Yuan Hong, Chang Hao, Zhu Zizhen, Yang Xian, Dai Li, Jin Da Sheng, and Wu Long.

Ye Fann had little interest in lesser demons.

According to the system's analysis, the Tide Ocean Spirit, Yuan Hua, had assembled these seven Golden Immortal Stage demons.

With Ye Fann's current physical condition, he could only cultivate the Nine Circles Profound Arts to the Peak of the Golden Immortal Stage.

To push the Nine Circles Profound Arts further and break through the fourth level, he would need to enhance his physical condition to meet the necessary standards.

Thus, the essence of the Long-Armed Ape Monkey was something Ye Fann was resolute in acquiring.

Only by absorbing it could he further evolve his physique.

Besides, the clairvoyant hadn't been mistaken.

In the memories of his past life, Ye Fann recalled that the Seven Monsters of Mei Mountain were indeed a formidable challenge.

They had even once hindered the army led by Jiang Ziya.

Now, it seemed that the Seven Monsters had only recently come together, still seeking to establish themselves and thus keeping a low profile.

If Ye Fann were to confront them now...

The Seven Freaks of Plum Mountain were indeed a scourge to the region. They even hindered the great army led by Jiang Ziya later on. At this point, the seven had just come together, not yet firmly established, hence their lack of action. If Ye Fann were to deal with them, he would be eliminating a significant future threat. However, Ye Fann had a change of heart and decided not to take the Devil Subduing Army with him. He planned to consume the essence of the Long-Armed Ape Monkey. Should this information leak, it would likely draw the attention of numerous Great Experts from the Great Wilderness Land. After all, having fused with two of the Chaos Devil God bodies, his was among the most superior physiques in the land. If these Great Experts turned their focus on him, the secret of Ye Fann's swift ascent would undoubtedly be exposed. The consequences could be dire; he might even end up as a 'lab rat.' With this in mind, Ye Fann resolved to take advantage of the holiday to descend to the lower realm and complete this task in secret.

Externally, Ye Fann showed no signs of his intentions. He casually conversed with Clairvoyant and Clairaudient before they parted ways. The following day, Ye Fann arrived early at the Cloudy Palace of the Golden Arches. He attended court alongside the other Immortal Officials. Given the special nature of his position, his attendance wasn't required. However, since he planned to descend to the lower realm, he needed to request time off from the chairman, the Jade Emperor. The other Immortal Officials, upon seeing Ye Fann's unexpected appearance, greeted him warmly. Ye Fann was, after all, highly regarded by the Jade Emperor. During regular assemblies, the Jade Emperor always showed a gratified smile when mentioning Ye Fann and the Devil Subduing Army. Ye Fann responded to each greeting and took a moment to engage in conversation with the Giant Spirit God.

Before long, under the escort of the Immortal Officials and Taibai Jinxing, the Jade Emperor arrived at the Cloudy Palace of the Golden Arches and took his seat on the throne. His authoritative gaze swept over the Immortal Officials, and upon noticing Ye Fann's presence, he immediately sensed that Ye Fann had come for a specific reason. Nonetheless, the Jade Emperor did not inquire right away.

Surrounded by a host of celestial maidens and Taibai Jinxing, the Jade Emperor made his way to the inner sanctum of the Lingxiao Hall and took his seat upon the throne. His authoritative gaze swept over the assembly of celestial officials, and when he noticed Ye Fann among them, he instantly understood that Ye Fann had come with a matter to discuss. However, the Jade Emperor did not inquire immediately; instead, he proceeded with the usual business of the Great Wilderness Land.

During this time, Ye Fann noticed that Taibai Jinxing was watching him with a constant, amiable smile. Ye Fann harbored a favorable impression of him—Taibai Jinxing was benevolent, a trusted confidant of the Jade Emperor who carried himself without pretense and sought neither fame nor fortune. From the memories of his past life, Ye Fann recalled that during the events of the Journey to the West, many deities clamored to send their mounts and disciples to the mortal realm in hopes of gaining merit. Yet, Taibai Jinxing had not engaged in such behavior. He had already accrued merit by coaxing Sun Wukong into taking a celestial office. Despite his positive impression, Ye Fann was puzzled by Taibai Jinxing's unwavering attention and wondered about his intentions.

"Venerable Ye, do you have a matter to report?" the Jade Emperor asked, having finished addressing the affairs brought forth by the other deities. His proactive approach to Ye Fann was telling; it left the other deities feeling envious of the special treatment afforded to a trusted aide—such a stark contrast to their own.

Taking two steps forward, Ye Fann bowed deeply and spoke with reverence, "Your Majesty, I have been in the Heavenly Court for quite some time now, and I find myself longing for my family in the lower realm. I humbly request a two-month leave to visit them."

Upon hearing this, the celestial officials collectively rolled their eyes, internally voicing their disdain. Even the Giant Spirit God appeared unable to bear witness to such a flimsy pretext. Ye Fann's request seemed all too convenient—a day in the heavens equates to a year on earth. Having ascended to the Heavenly Court nearly two centuries ago, it had been millennia since he last visited the lower realm. What family could endure for so long? They had long since turned to dust. Clearly, Ye Fann's thoughts were on anything but a family visit.

Ye Fann had ascended to the higher realms nearly two centuries ago. Down in the lower realms, tens of thousands of years had passed. What family could endure for so long? They would have turned to dust by now. It was clear that he simply wanted to go down to the lower realms for some fun. Moreover, the Heavenly Court was currently in dire need of personnel. Maintaining the cosmic order was challenging, and the concept of taking a vacation was virtually non-existent.

"Permission granted!" The Jade Emperor's robust voice echoed through the Hall of Supreme Harmony, causing the deities who were internally grumbling to feel as though they were on the verge of spitting blood. Taibai Jinxing, who was absentmindedly stroking his beard, accidentally yanked out a large tuft of it. The Jade Emperor had agreed to such a casual leave request without a moment's hesitation. "That's the advantage of being a confidant," they thought.

Most of the Immortal Officials present were on the verge of tears. If Ye Fann could ask for a two-month leave after ascending for just a few hundred years, what about them, who had been working diligently for a hundred thousand, a million, or even ten million years? Surely they deserved a sabbatical of several centuries to rejuvenate themselves.

"Cough, Your Majesty," one of the officials began, "Your servant has been bestowing rain upon the Great Wilderness Land for a million years..." The Rain Master, too, was tempted to request some time off. But sensing the Jade Emperor's mood shift, he swiftly altered his plea, "Your servant has finally achieved a new level of mastery over the power of water."

"It is indeed a joyous occasion when a servant's strength progresses," the Jade Emperor responded with a neutral tone. The Rain Master hastily stepped back into line, wiping the nervous sweat from his brow and casting an envious glance at Ye Fann.

The Rain Master's setback quashed the hopes of many other Immortal Officials who had been entertaining similar thoughts. Through this event, they all became acutely aware of Ye Fann's esteemed status in the Jade Emperor's heart.

Observing the silence of the Immortal Officials, the Jade Emperor announced, "If there's nothing else, you are dismissed."

"Goodbye, Your Majesty!" they replied, realizing their chances for a vacation were slim, and they respectfully took their leave.

Once the Jade Emperor had departed, all eyes turned to Ye Fann, filled with a mix of envy, jealousy, and bitterness. This sudden shift in attention sent a shiver down Ye Fann's spine. Why did he suddenly feel like the target of their collective grief?
