C2 Chang'e's Troubles
"Could this be some kind of simulation game?"
After much deliberation, Chu Yang reached a verdict.
In this so-called Celestial Amazon Store, players' IDs were inspired by deities from the heavens.
Names like the well-known Great Monad, the Four Seas Dragon King, and the Great Immortal Zhenyuan were common...
And the items for sale were treasures straight out of mythological stories.
There were tomes of magical techniques, immortal pills, precious artifacts, and a plethora of natural wonders.
While browsing, a banner on the Amazon Store homepage caught Chu Yang's eye.
"Join our three-thousand-year anniversary celebration today, with discounts starting at 70% off on all items!"
He instinctively clicked on it, and a lavishly decorated shop interface appeared.
Shop Name: Tushita Palace Pill Specialist
Owner: Great Monad
Shop Age: Three thousand years
Reputation: Four Crown Seller
Tushita Palace?
As Chu Yang perused the shop's treasures, his expression grew increasingly grim.
"Are the prices in this shop not outrageously high?"
The handful of soul stones he'd received from the system weren't enough to purchase anything!
He opted to sort by price, going straight for the most affordable items.
Divine Strength Pill: Increases strength tenfold for one hour. Original price: 300 soul stones, now just 100 soul stones (5 in stock).
"The price is just right."
After examining the item's details, Chu Yang decided to click the purchase button.
"Congratulations on your successful purchase. Would you like to retrieve the Divine Strength Pill?"
As soon as Chu Yang pressed the "retrieve" button, he suddenly felt an object materialize in his hand.
Looking down, he found a dark pill resting quietly in his palm.
"Holy smokes!"
Upon closer inspection, Chu Yang nearly tossed it aside.
It turned out that items purchased from the Celestial Amazon Store could actually be brought into the real world!
Does this mean that those shops were truly run by celestial beings?
"I've struck gold!" he exclaimed.
The brief shock gave way to ecstatic joy, and the gloom that had been looming over him for days vanished in an instant.
These were all divine items; if they could all be brought into reality, wouldn't that be utterly miraculous?
After browsing the web for a while, Chu Yang suddenly realized a problem. There was no option to recharge or add funds in the Celestial Amazon Store.
"That means once I run out of soul stones, I can't purchase anything... No, wait! If I can buy, I must be able to sell. I should be able to earn soul stones."
As expected, when he accessed the seller interface, he quickly found an option to "List a Treasure."
He spent some time perusing the seller's guide and got a good grasp on the steps to list items for sale.
Next, he aimed his phone at a dress on the sofa and hit the confirm button. Instantly, the dress vanished!
On his phone's display, a prompt appeared, "Please enter the title and price for the treasure."
"It actually works!"
Chu Yang was both astonished and delighted, and it took him quite some time to regain his composure.
He pondered the prompt on his phone carefully.
Though the dress was merely a mundane item and couldn't hold a candle to the real treasures, it should still fetch at least 50 soul stones, right?
So, he set the price at 50 soul stones and came up with an eye-catching title.
"Summer's Latest: Slimming Waist-Defining Trendy Floral Chiffon Fairy Dress!"
Chu Yang was extremely pleased with the title.
Despite not having sold a single item of clothing since opening his shop, he had picked up a thing or two about using keywords to drive traffic, and now he could put that knowledge to good use.
Still, Chu Yang braced for the worst.
His store was just a personal seller's account with no reputation, and the visibility of his listings was extremely low, practically at the bottom of the entire network. It wouldn't be surprising if no one noticed them.
Moreover, the celestial fairies were well-versed in fashion, favoring high-end garments like wide-sleeved immortal dresses and rainbow feather robes, so they might not give his offerings a second glance.
But he couldn't rule out the possibility entirely. Perhaps there might be a fairy out there who would take a liking to his clothes?
Chu Yang prepared to list a few more items, but a notification stopped him in his tracks:
"Sorry, you have 0 remaining slots for treasures. You cannot list more items. Please upgrade your shop level to gain additional slots!"
It turns out that the number of items one can list is tied to the shop's level. That's a big departure from Amazon's approach!
Chu Yang pored over the details for a while before sleepiness crept up on him, and he drifted off to sleep.
...
In the Celestial Court, within the Moon Palace.
Beneath a towering osmanthus tree stood a stunning woman in a white dress, delicately inhaling the scent of the blossoms.
This aloof and majestic fairy was none other than Chang'e, the mistress of the Moon Palace.
Behind her, by a stone table, a charming little loli with rabbit ears was sprawled out.
At that moment, the little loli was using her finger to glide across an ethereal water screen, swiftly turning the pages.
Since the immortals of the Celestial had harnessed their formidable powers to refine the Heavenly Dao's laws into the Celestial Amazon Store—a platform enabling communication and trade between realms—online shopping had become a favorite pastime among the gods.
The deities found trading items on the Amazon Store incredibly convenient, leading many to set up their own shops and sell treasures they no longer needed.
Bored in her Moon Palace, Chang'e decided to ride the wave of the times, opening a clothing brand store aptly named "Moon Palace."
As the preeminent fashion designer of the Heavenly Court, each of Chang'e's creations sparked a trend throughout the realm.
Her clothing store was naturally booming, with new garments and socks often selling out within half an hour.
However, Chang'e had become much more reserved in the past two years and hadn't released any new designs for quite some time.
Rumors swirled that Chang'e's inspiration and talent had dried up, leaving her unable to produce new designs.
These rumors spread far and wide, leading many celestial beings to believe them and lament Chang'e's supposed decline.
In reality, contrary to what the immortals believed, Chang'e's lack of new designs wasn't due to a loss of inspiration.
The truth was, she hadn't done any designing at all in the past two years!
After creating numerous iconic pieces over the years, only to be constantly imitated, she felt a sense of isolation at the pinnacle of her craft.
Now, Chang'e's ambition was to transcend her previous achievements and shatter her established design philosophy to forge an entirely new fashion style.
"Master, master!"
Chang'e, basking in the sweet scent of osmanthus, was roused by the jade rabbit's exuberant cry.
"What's the matter?"
Without turning, Chang'e inquired softly.
The jade rabbit bounded over, brimming with excitement, "Master, I've discovered a dress with such distinctive features!"
A distinctive dress?
Chang'e was skeptical. To her, it likely was just another imitation spawned by some gossipmonger's trend-following.
Seeing no reaction from Chang'e, the jade rabbit eagerly pushed the water curtain image before her.
"It's so beautiful... Oh!"
Chang'e, poised to scold the jade rabbit, was struck by the image on the water curtain, her expression suddenly transfixed.
After a moment's hesitation, Chang'e commanded, "Quick, purchase this dress!"
Her instincts assured her that the design philosophy she sought was intricately linked to this dress!
The jade rabbit tapped a few times in the air, and the transaction was complete.
"The shoulders can be designed with cutouts, the hem tailored with an elegant cascade, and then there's this unique pattern, the style of the waist ribbon... Every detail is so remarkably unique, it's absolutely stunning!"
Holding the dress, Chang'e caressed it tenderly, a flush of excitement coloring her cheeks.
