C19 I Beat That Girl to Tears
In the southern reaches of the Empire, within the City of Fire—one of the Empire's seven major strongholds—lay the training room of the Academy Team. Lilith disconnected from the War Net, feeling a sting of injustice. She hadn't anticipated that in her very first battle on the War Net, she would be killed before she even had the chance to execute a single combat skill.
The more Lilith dwelled on it, the more the sense of injustice grew, until she couldn't hold back her tears any longer. As she began to cry, the other members of the training room were thrown into a state of alarm.
Then, without warning, a figure materialized beside Lilith, and with her arrival, the temperature in the room seemed to climb. The members of the Flame Team swallowed hard as they took in the sight before them. The figure was none other than Avila, the Empire's Flaming Dancing Goddess, known for her fiery red hair and stunning figure. And Lilith, the one who had been so unceremoniously slain by Lin Luo, was her cousin.
Avila's anger blazed at the sight of Lilith being mistreated in the War Net. In a swift motion, she grabbed the collar of a nearby teammate and hoisted him into the air. "Inno," she commanded, "set up a duel with Fearless Expert. I'm going to blast his head off."
Inno, the Vice Captain of the Flame Team, could only roll his eyes in exasperation. Why did it always seem to be him bearing the brunt of these situations? Couldn't the captain show a little respect for her second-in-command?
Despite his frustration, Inno couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity for Fearless Expert. Knowing Avila's fiery temperament, she was a woman of her word. If she vowed to blow someone's head off, she would do exactly that—without turning them to ash.
After wriggling out of Avila's grip, Inno logged into the War Net and prepared to issue the challenge to Fearless Expert. But to his dismay, he found that Fearless Expert had already logged off. Clever move. After killing Lilith, he had promptly exited the virtual battlefield.
With a sheepish tone, Inno reported, "Captain, Fearless Expert has gone offline."
Fury ignited within Avila upon hearing this. He thought he could bully Lilith and then just slip away? He was sorely mistaken.
"Pin the challenge to the top of the War Net's comment section," she instructed coldly. "The next time Fearless Expert logs in, I'll be the first to confront him. I'm going to crush his head for all to see."
Inno's expression turned grim.
He had the misfortune of serving under such a captain.
As the leader of the City of Fire's Academy Team and an elite-level combatant, she was actually seeking to challenge a mere rookie.
And to top it off, she intended to pin the challenge at the top of the War Net's comment section.
This was bound to cast Team Flame in an embarrassing light.
But as the vice captain, Inno felt utterly powerless.
If he didn't comply, Avila would surely be the first to blow his head off.
All Inno could do was pray.
Brother Fearless, may you find peace in the afterlife!
Why did you have to provoke the captain by crossing someone you shouldn't have?
Avila's challenge to Fearless Expert was now pinned for all to see on the War Net's comment section.
Instantly, the entire War Net was abuzz.
Avila's reputation preceded her.
Known as the Empire's Flaming Dancing Goddess and a wielder of the Flame Ability, she possessed an overwhelming burst of Spiritual Energy and was a top-tier warrior on the War Net.
To date, every opponent the Flaming Dancing Goddess faced on the War Net had been decimated by her rune cannons, without exception.
Within the Elite Level, save for a few unique individuals, no one could halt the advance of the Flaming Dancing Goddess.
Of course, those at the Master Level were another story.
Today, the Flaming Dancing Goddess had personally thrown down the gauntlet.
Fearless Expert? Just who was he?
The War Net's power players sprang into action, digging up everything about Fearless Expert.
The findings left everyone in shock.
Fearless Expert, at Rookie Level, had a record of 249 losses, 2 wins, and 0 draws.
He was, in no uncertain terms, a disaster.
A super rookie.
Why on earth would the Flaming Dancing Goddess challenge him?
What hidden story lay beneath?
