C14 Arrange a Proper Arrangement and Establish the Cloud Technology
Howard had anticipated a leisurely afternoon with no particular plans. Just as he was about to settle into his idle routine, Claus called with unexpected news. "Young Master, I've successfully acquired a server factory at a bargain price. All the paperwork is in order. Would you care to come and see it?"
Howard couldn't help but wonder if Claus had somehow bugged him to keep such timely tabs on his whereabouts.
Resigned to the change of plans, Howard accepted that his lazy afternoon was not to be. "Alright, come pick me up. I'll be at the school gate," he said without hesitation, knowing that the sooner the factory was operational, the quicker he'd see a return on the investment. Time was of the essence.
"I'm tied up at the moment, so I'll send Saurat to fetch you in your Koenigsegg," Claus responded promptly.
"Okay." Howard was puzzled. Who in the world was Saurat? Could it be that the manor's maid had already been appointed? No matter, he thought. It made little difference who the driver was.
Before long, a sleek Koenigsegg executed a stunning drift and came to a halt before Howard. A silver-haired young woman, dressed in a classic black-and-white maid's uniform, stepped out gracefully.
A maid!
The sight left the onlooking students in awe. "Do maid cafes really rake in enough to drive a Koenigsegg now?" one student exclaimed.
"Take a closer look at her uniform. She's from a private estate," a bespectacled student retorted with a hint of scorn. "And her poise? She's leagues beyond any play-along maid you'd find at a cafe."
The murmurs continued, "Isn't that Howard, the school beauty's boyfriend? Didn't he arrive in a custom Cullinan just yesterday, chauffeured by a butler?"
A butler, a maid—does Zuchar harbor such elite families?
"Young Master, Mr. Claus has sent me to collect you," the Nordic-looking silver-haired maid said with an elegant curtsy before opening the car door. "Please, take a seat."
"Thank you," Howard replied, pleasantly surprised by Saurat's striking appearance.
He settled into the passenger seat, and Saurat expertly buckled him in before returning to the driver's seat. "Young Master, please hold on to the armrest. I'll take you to the factory now."
"No problem," Howard said with a light chuckle, expressing his gratitude. "I appreciate your efforts."
"It's no trouble at all," Saurat replied with a gentle smile, and with a press of the accelerator, the car surged forward, speeding off like a bullet.
Wow!
Saurat's driving is so intense that most people wouldn't dare get in the car with her!
It's not that her skills are lacking; on the contrary, she's too skilled, speeding through busy streets without ever slowing down.
Anyone with a weak heart might just have a fit from the fright.
Howard hadn't been gone long when Fredia found herself encircled by a bevy of beauties. "Fredia, your boyfriend just took off with another woman!"
"What!?" Fredia paused, puzzled. "What are you talking about?"
"Look at this," the girl with the baby face urged, pulling up a forum post on her phone. "There was a maid at the school gate who drove off in a Koenigsegg with your boyfriend."
"Oh, that's my boyfriend's family maid. Howard's probably headed to his company," Fredia explained with a shrug, pointing to the emblem on the uniform. "That's the crest of my boyfriend's estate."
"Your boyfriend has a butler and a maid?" The girl with the round face gaped, her envy evident. "He must be quite the catch, a real gem!"
"He's alright," Fredia laughed softly, glancing at her phone with a smug smile. "See? My boyfriend just texted me; he's off to the company."
Indeed, he was.
Impressive.
Your boyfriend is so considerate!
He even lets you know where he's going.
The other girls had hoped for some drama, but instead, they were left feeling bitter, as if they had swallowed a mouthful of lemons.
Meanwhile, Howard had successfully made his way to the Todmorden High-Tech Development Zone.
Looking at the address, Howard was impressed by Claus's ability to secure such prime factory locations.
The place, once known as Tianyuan, was undergoing a name change, with workers busy taking down the old sign.
Claus and a middle-aged man were already there waiting for Howard when he arrived.
"Young Master, we appreciate your efforts," Claus greeted, stepping forward to introduce Howard. "This is Mr. Zhao, the owner of the Tianyuan factory."
"Hello," Howard said, offering a polite handshake.
Oh!
Hello, hello, Young Master Howard, you're quite young!
Zhao Tian eagerly shook hands with Howard, remarking on his youth.
After all his years in Todmorden, this was his first encounter with a genuine butler and maid.
Howard's dignified presence commanded respect, ensuring that he was not taken lightly.
As the former owner,
Zhao Tian was arguably the most knowledgeable about the factory.
Now that the deal was done, Zhao Tian, playing the gracious host, was eager to guide Howard through the factory's layout and its production lines.
Howard, however, was indifferent to these production lines. They were outdated, semi-automatic, and inefficient, an eyesore in their current state.
Fortunately, Howard was quite pleased with the factory's specifications. Without major renovations, he could establish five cleanrooms suitable for chip fabrication and lithography machines.
"Master Howard, as the evening approaches, how about I host a dinner for everyone?" Zhao Tian, adept at social niceties, extended the invitation upon noticing the day's waning light.
But,
Howard's mind was on his lithography machine and the renovation ahead, so he gestured dismissively, "There's no need for that, Mr. Zhao. The factory still requires my attention. Let's take a rain check on that dinner, and next time, I'll be the host—please don't decline."
"Absolutely!"
Despite Howard's refusal, Zhao Tian wasn't overly disappointed. He bowed slightly and quickly took his leave.
The factory was now devoid of workers.
Howard, lips pressed together, instructed, "Claus, Saurat, tidy up the office. I'll take another look around the factory and contemplate the renovations."
"Understood."
Neither assistant objected,
for the factory's office was in dire shape,
far below Howard's standards.
Howard then sought out an empty warehouse and entered. "System, will installing the lithography machine's production line alter the factory's characteristics?"
"Yes, the installation will trigger an automatic upgrade to the highest standard of factory, complete with security and surveillance," the system responded tersely, offering no further explanation.
So, the lithography machine's installation would have the same effect!
Howard arched an eyebrow, no longer hesitating, and placed the production line inside the factory.
In an instant, the factory began to deconstruct and upgrade. The materials transformed into an unknown special metal, and surveillance covered every angle inside and out. The observation and production areas were divided by massive, multi-layered vacuum bulletproof glass. Entry required dust removal and donning a sterile suit.
The fully automated production line was capable of churning out two lithography machines daily, provided that the material warehouse was sufficiently stocked.
Once the production workshop was in order,
Howard distributed the ten lithography machines across two workshops, with the chip production workshop's specs closely mirroring those of the lithography machine workshop.
Reviewing the lithography machines' detailed specs, Howard couldn't hide his astonishment.
A single machine could produce 500 chips per hour with a perfect quality rate—no defects whatsoever!
Impressive!
With a click of his tongue in approval,
Howard released the expert he had brought in.
This expert, an elderly gentleman in his sixties, carried an air of authority that lent credibility to his role. Howard had named him Xia Xin, a nod to Zuchar's proprietary chips.
Howard introduced Xia Xin to Claus and inquired about their remaining funds.
Claus answered nonchalantly, "We're sitting on about a billion yuan. That could double by tomorrow, though future earnings might taper off."
"Still, it's somewhat insufficient for chip production. I recommend we start by hiring some management staff and then seek out corporate partnerships to grow incrementally."
Claus mulled it over before responding, "The Xia family would make for an excellent collaborator."
That would work.
Howard gave a slight nod and checked the time. "Well then, let's head back for now and sort out the details tomorrow."
"Agreed!"
"I'll remain here."
Xia Xin found the site to his liking, with all the necessary amenities and provisions, perfect for drafting a nano chip framework.
Howard didn't press him to leave, instead leaving him with ten million yuan before departing.
The factory was crucial, but it wasn't going anywhere.
And he certainly couldn't keep his dear Senior Sister waiting!
