As for Zhang Lieh, he was utterly indifferent to Wang Xiaohua's and the base's reactions.

Shortly after departing from the base, Zhang Lieh found a hidden spot to release the Silver Liquid Jade Worm King Soul Jade, cloaking himself in a suit of silver-colored glass armor.

His quarry for the day was the Gale Wolf, a Genetic Beast species native to the Wind Canyon. Zhang Lieh, familiar with the Void Realm's layout, needed no map to navigate his way there.

To the casual observer, a Gale Wolf might appear similar to an ordinary grey wolf, save for its massive size, with limbs as tall as an adult human.

Despite their ferocity, these creatures from Outer Space were merely ordinary Gene Life. Zhang Lieh, now equipped with the Super Gene and Soul Jade, required no special preparations to confront them. Spotting a pack of Gale Wolves, he charged in without hesitation.

Hunters in the canyon, witnessing Zhang Lieh's bold entrance into the wolf pack, assumed he was on a suicide mission. Typically, hunters would form teams to strategically pick off the wolves one by one.

Without the Silver Liquid Jade Worm King Soul Jade and lacking a Super Gene, Zhang Lieh would have never dared such a reckless approach. But with these powerful advantages, he found the ordinary Gene Creatures to be no threat at all.

Indeed, the Gale Wolves' teeth could not penetrate Zhang Lieh's armor, which resembled glass yet was far tougher. Conversely, with his alloy sword, Zhang Lieh decapitated the wolves with ease.

He wielded his sword with fluid grace, cutting down the Gale Wolves as effortlessly as if they were mere weeds awaiting harvest. In moments, a section of the Wind Canyon was strewn with their carcasses, leaving other hunters, those with only ordinary genes, too terrified to even breathe.

The aftermath of the slaughter included several ordinary Soul Jades, but Zhang Lieh, having already acquired a Super Soul Jade, barely gave them a second glance. Only a Mutated Level Soul Jade could pique his interest now.

After a frenzied spree that left hundreds of wolves slain, a piercing howl echoed from the pack. Zhang Lieh looked up to see a Gale Wolf, as large as a truck, charging forth with a commanding presence.

"Mutated Level, haha, it's finally here!"

Zhang Lieh licked his lips, fearless and brimming with excitement as he charged forward.

The Mutated Gale Wolf charged towards him, while the ordinary Gale Wolves, at the mere Genetic Level, wisely stepped aside to clear a path for Zhang Lieh.

"Clang!"

The sound of metal striking metal rang out as they collided.

The Mutated Gale Wolf unleashed a flurry of claw swipes and lunges with its maw.

Yet, Zhang Lieh stood his ground, unfazed under the protection of the Silver Liquid Jade Worm Soul Jade. He wielded his alloy sword with incredible speed, transforming it into a piercing light that thrust into the chest of the Mutated Gale Wolf.

"Ding! Ding! Ding!"

"Clang!"

Sparks flew as they exchanged over a hundred blows in an instant. The Mutated Gale Wolf's claws struck Zhang Lieh's body without leaving a mark.

With a Mutant Gene Count of only seven to ten points, the beast was no match for Zhang Lieh.

But when Zhang Lieh's sword struck the Mutated Gale Wolf, it shattered!

"Damn, there go my 800 points!"

Only then did Zhang Lieh remember he was wielding the base's cheapest alloy sword. It was sharp enough for ordinary Gene Creatures, but clearly insufficient against the Mutated Gale Wolf.

The Mutated Gale Wolf, delighted, opened its maw wide, its sharp fangs ready to deliver a fatal blow to Zhang Lieh.

As the Mutated Gale Wolf's jaws snapped shut, the glass-like armor around Zhang Lieh sprang to life, filling the wolf's mouth as he willed it. The wolf's throat began to expand like an overinflated balloon.

A muffled explosion sounded as the Mutated Gale Wolf's throat burst open, nearly decapitating it.

Zhang Lieh crushed a regular Gale Wolf Soul Jade, and as the soul essence dispersed, a voice from the will of the Void echoed in his mind: "By slaying the Mutated Gale Wolf, you have obtained a Mutated Gale Wolf Soul Jade: Amplification type."

The Mutated Gale Wolf Soul Jade was an exceedingly useful Soul Jade within the Void Realm, a premium Amplification type that significantly boosted speed without the need for Origin Power activation.

After activation, the Gale Wolf's form was as swift as lightning.

Zhang Lieh's mission was not only to hunt for genes but also to acquire the practical Soul Jade.

Unexpectedly, his luck was extraordinary today, as he encountered a mutated Gale Wolf upon arrival.

Once the mutated Gale Wolf was slain, the other Gale Wolves lost their will to fight and scattered, leaving behind the corpse of the mutated Gale Wolf and many other Gale Wolf carcasses.

Zhang Lieh processed these bodies, skinning and deboning them, and kept the meat, as his backpack was stocked with a plethora of seasonings and various tools.

He tossed the meat of the mutated Gale Wolf and the other Gale Wolves into a pot, added a generous amount of spices and white wine, and after stewing for about three hours, the wolf meat stew was ready.

"You have consumed Gale Wolf meat. Ordinary Geno Points: +1."
