C15 Where Is My House?
Accused of stealing a Pill, he was so desperate to disappear that even after being saved by Huang Feng, he felt it was safer to make himself scarce. If Elder Han Ye caught sight of him, who knows if he'd be on the receiving end of a swift retribution.
And so, Zhou Mu made his escape, leaving Huang Feng, who had just activated the Mountain Protecting Great Formation, puzzled and frowning. Where had the talented disciple vanished to?
"I must return to my seclusion to heal my injuries. Stay vigilant," the Jade Sun Patriarch instructed, his meridians cracking from the cold as he hurried back to his cultivation.
Huang Feng gazed upon his disciples with a heavy heart and turned to address the three elders. "I must ask you elders to take turns overseeing the Mountain Protecting Great Formation. Please be cautious."
The elders nodded in agreement. Elder Han Ye, in particular, couldn't shake the feeling that the impressive disciple he'd seen earlier seemed familiar. But where had he seen him before?
Zhou Mu quickly made his way back to the secluded hundred-meter valley.
Once home, the familiar sense of security enveloped him, bringing comfort. However, as he entered the valley, he was struck with disbelief. "Where's my house? Who on earth tore down my house?"
The wooden house that should have stood there was now nothing but rubble. The previous structure was nowhere to be found.
Enraged, Zhou Mu leapt up, unleashing a tirade of curses into the air.
Eventually, he stopped, out of breath not because he wanted to, but because he was exhausted and parched. He decided to take a break before resuming his rant.
"Damn it, if I find out who messed with my house... Wait, it couldn't be her, could it?"
A thought struck Zhou Mu. His valley was a quiet spot on the back mountain, seldom visited by anyone. Plus, he had rushed here immediately after receiving the perks of an official disciple, so no one should have known about this place.
"If she's the one who touched my house, then I'm really at a loss."
Zhou Mu hung his head, but he was no pushover. He resolved to thoroughly investigate the next time he transmigrated. He would delve into the mystery of her pristine and untainted being and turn the tables on her.
"Is this a Storage Jade Talisman?"
Zhou Mu found a jade talisman on the ground, specifically designed for storing information.
"Nobody else could have come here. Could it have been left by that female demon?"
After a brief hesitation, Zhou Mu picked up the Storage Jade Talisman and pressed it to his forehead.
His spirit lifted slightly as he received a stream of information from the talisman.
Moments later, Zhou Mu let out a wry smile. The Storage Jade Talisman was indeed left by the female demon, who had berated him thoroughly, cursing him as if he were nothing more than rotten wood.
Moreover, he now understood why he could suddenly sense Spiritual Force; it was all because the female demon had stolen Pills. What was even more alarming was that she had stolen from the Medicine Refining Pavilion not once, but twice, leaving it completely empty.
He must survive.
Only by surviving until the end of time could he ensure his safety and prevent others from discovering that it was his face associated with the theft of the Pills.
The information also contained a warning from the demoness: if he were to transmigrate again, he was forbidden from doing anything to his body, such as bathing or changing clothes. Naturally, she wouldn't do anything to his body either.
"No wonder I discovered I had reached Level Three of the Qi Refining Realm as soon as I returned. It turns out I'm not a genius; it was all the demoness's doing."
Zhou Mu's bitter smile deepened as he fully grasped that he was not a genius, but still worthless.
The demoness had also briefed him on some basic aspects of the Spirit Realm ten thousand years in the future and instructed him to leave some information about the Mortal Realm in the Storage Jade Talisman.
"What's the deal with this transmigration, anyway?"
Zhou Mu waved his hand, pocketing the Storage Jade Talisman, and opened his Storage Bag. His mind swirled through the contents, a dizzying array of Pills, most of which were in empty bottles. He had consumed most of the Pills because the demoness had told him that a good-for-nothing like him could only reach the Foundation Stage with the help of Pills.
The Foundation Stage? Zhou Mu didn't dare to entertain the thought. He would count himself lucky to achieve the perfected Qi Refining Realm.
After rising to his feet, Zhou Mu surveyed the debris before him and resumed chopping down trees to rebuild his humble abode.
I forgot to mention, there's more good news. The once incomplete Azure Lotus Sword Qi Spell, which was limited to the Seventh Level of Qi Refining, has been restored by the Demoness. With diligent practice, I can now advance to the pinnacle of Qi Refining.
What thrilled Zhou Mu the most was that the Demoness had not only mended the spell's deficiencies but had also enhanced the potency of the Azure Lotus Sword Qi Spell.
If he could master it to the peak of Qi Refining, he might stand a chance against those in the early Foundation Stage, safeguarding his life.
Zhou Mu realized the magnitude of the boon he'd received and, unexpectedly, felt a twinge of gratitude towards the once-feared Demoness.
Time flew by, and several days had already passed.
The Jade Sun Sect remained shielded by the Mountain Protecting Great Formation. Though the Bright Moon Sect couldn't breach it, the Spirit Stones powering the barrier were depleting rapidly.
At this rate, the sect's Spirit Stones would be exhausted in less than half a month, prompting Huang Feng to urgently convene a meeting with the three elders.
"The Patriarch is still in seclusion, healing his wounds. He won't be emerging anytime soon," Huang Feng said, his brow furrowed with concern. "The Mountain Protecting Great Formation is running at full capacity, but we're nearly out of Spirit Stones."
"Sect Master, how much longer can our Spirit Stones sustain us?" Elder Xiao Hee asked, his expression clouded with worry, shared by the rest of those gathered.
They all understood the gravity of the situation; the Jade Sun Sect was teetering on the brink. One misstep could lead to total annihilation.
"We have enough for roughly four more days. What are our options after that?" Huang Feng asked, his anxiety palpable. The Bright Moon Sect was lying in wait, eager for the Great Formation to fail so they could storm in.
"Sect Master, is it possible to seek aid? Perhaps from allied sects with whom we share good relations?"
Second Elder Mo Fan suddenly spoke up, "The Hundred Flower Palace has always had a good relationship with us. We could seek their assistance."
"Indeed, Sect Master, we could also request aid from other sects," another voice chimed in.
Han Ye clapped his hands enthusiastically, "Besides the Hundred Flower Palace, there's the Yellow Mountain Gate and the Wind Spirit Sect. These sects have always been friendly with our Jade Sun Sect. We can certainly reach out to them for help. I'm confident they won't abandon us in our time of need."
Huang Feng let out a sigh and shook his head, "Do you think I haven't considered that? But how could we have anticipated the Bright Moon Sect's swift action? They launched a surprise attack before the decade was even up. Now with the Bright Moon Sect right outside our door, how are we supposed to seek help?"
