C18 Another Transmigration!

"I hope the female devil has a way to improve her cultivation aptitude. It would be beneficial for her as well."

Zhou Mu was confident that the female devil had a method to enhance her cultivation aptitude. His certainty stemmed from a simple fact: as the sect master of a top-tier sect, her cultivation level and insight were extraordinarily high. Surely, this would be within her capabilities.

Although he had never directly tested the female devil's strength, he assumed she must be more formidable than the Patriarch of the Jade Sun Sect. How else could she hold the title of Purple Heaven Sect Master?

"Enough of that, time to focus on my own cultivation."

Zhou Mu transferred the issue of aptitude improvement to his Storage Jade Talisman, then took out a bottle of Pills and resumed his regimen. Sitting quietly, he closed his eyes and immersed himself in cultivation.

Time slipped away swiftly, and before he knew it, two days had passed. He had remained in the small valley for the entire duration, consuming all the Pills he had acquired until none were left, forcing him to pause his cultivation.

Deprived of Pills, his own cultivation speed seemed painfully slow. Moreover, if he wasn't mistaken, today was the day he had anticipated.

Stepping outside, Zhou Mu's gaze sharpened as he looked to the sky. A faint barrier shimmered above, repeatedly struck by fierce sword lights that made it quiver, threatening to shatter at any moment.

"Haha, Jade Sun old man, when will you finally show yourself?"

A booming voice broke through the barrier, followed by more sword lights battering against it. The barrier shook under Zhou Mu's anxious watch, but it held firm, despite growing dimmer.

"Isn't that the Bright Moon Elder? What's happening? Bai Qianhe said the Mountain Protecting Great Formation could hold for four days, and tomorrow is supposed to be the last day. Why the attack today?"

A white light soared from beyond the valley and descended before Zhou Mu. He caught it—it was a Transmission Jade Talisman. Connecting with it, he received Bai Qianhe's urgent message to hasten to the sect's main hall.

Zhou Mu was careful not to be careless. He activated the subtle Spiritual Force within him and leaped out of the valley, making his way toward the main hall.

As he traveled, the sky's Mountain Protecting Barrier was under relentless assault by the Bright Moon Sect. Sharp sword qi struck the barrier in a relentless barrage. Though the barrier had not yet given way, its violent trembling was a cause for great concern, as it seemed it might shatter at any moment.

Upon reaching the main hall, Zhou Mu found it teeming with disciples. It appeared that every disciple had convened there. Among them were the Miscellaneous Affairs Disciples who had once tormented him, now huddled together.

The sight of Zhou Mu caused a stir among the Miscellaneous Affairs Disciples; their faces fell, and they quickly bowed their heads, trying to make themselves as inconspicuous as possible to avoid his notice.

Internally, Zhou Mu let out a cold laugh. He had not forgotten those who had wronged him. Were it not for the Bright Moon Sect's incursion, he would have seized a covert opportunity to settle scores with these individuals, resolving their shared karma.

"Junior Brother Zhou, you've arrived. Hurry over here," called out Bai Qianhe, standing at the forefront, his eyes brightening as he beckoned.

Upon hearing Bai Qianhe's summons, Zhou Mu steeled himself and approached the front. He scanned the crowd, relieved not to see Elder Han Ye—only Sect Master Huang Feng was there.

The disciples at the front turned their gazes toward him in unison, their looks ranging from disdain to curiosity and even respect.

"Greetings, Senior Brother Bai, and fellow Senior Brothers," Zhou Mu greeted with a slight bow. In his weaker days, he knew the value of humility—being polite never offended anyone.

Aside from Bai Qianhe, who acknowledged him with a nod, the rest of the disciples merely gave Zhou Mu a cursory glance.

Zhou Mu's dazzling counterattack and kill had caught the attention of many. Under different circumstances, they might have sought him out.

Sect Master Huang Feng, at the forefront, smiled at Zhou Mu's arrival. Here stood a prodigious disciple, the promise of the sect's enduring and flourishing legacy, someone who warranted vigilant protection.

"Disciples, the Bright Moon Sect has launched a relentless assault on our Mountain Protecting Great Formation today. It may very well collapse at any moment. For the sake of our sect, prepare yourselves to fight the enemy."

Huang Feng paused, surveying the disciples. Some looked utterly lost, others were itching to join the fray, while a few were visibly shaken.

"The sect has resolved that those who repel the enemy will be handsomely rewarded. Anyone who slays an enemy will receive Pills, magical tools, and even various Divine Arts And Wonderful Techniques, all bestowed in accordance with their individual contributions. I trust that each of you will unite in this effort."

His words sent a ripple of shock through the disciples, quickly followed by a surge of excitement.

In the Cultivation Realm, Pills, magical weapons, and Divine Arts And Wonderful Techniques are of paramount importance. To acquire such treasures, one must contribute to the sect. Without contributions, you are left with only the basic techniques. This is the case within the sect, but for rogue cultivators, even wealth cannot buy these coveted items.

Sect Master Huang Feng, seeing the uplifted spirits of the assembly, nodded in approval. He signaled Elder Xiao Hee to lead the disciples to the sect's entrance. However, Bai Qianhe, Zhou Mu, and a few others were held back.

Zhou Mu realized the sect was using the other disciples as a diversion, allowing him and the selected few a chance to escape.

A pang of sorrow struck Zhou Mu as he watched the eager disciples depart with Elder Xiao Hee, knowing they had been forsaken. Yet, his extraordinary past feats had carved out a sliver of hope for him in the impending disaster.

Was fleeing the only option?

Truth be told, Zhou Mu felt a twinge of regret at the thought of leaving the Jade Sun Sect. Despite the bullying and the constant ridicule and humiliation he faced here, the sect had been his sanctuary.

Without it, he might have perished long ago.

"Master, is there truly nothing we can do? Must we flee?" asked Bai Qianhe, with the remaining disciples falling silent.

Huang Feng's expression grew somber. "Yes, the Elder is still recovering from his injuries. We have no other choice." His demeanor then shifted to one of resolve. "Stay strong. The sect believes that if you few can escape, you will ensure the Jade Sun Sect's legacy shines on. Now, we must act swiftly. Let's depart immediately."

Huang Feng took the lead, guiding Zhou Mu and six other disciples toward the rear mountain of the Jade Sun Sect.

"Our sect had long ago carved out a secret path, just in case of emergencies."

Guided by Huang Feng, they swiftly reached a secluded thicket on the sect's back mountain. As they made their way, the natural barrier overhead grew increasingly faint, with attacks raining down incessantly.

The forest was thick with vegetation and strewn with oddly shaped rocks, with only the occasional small bird or beast flitting about.

Suddenly, a thunderous boom resonated from the sky. Zhou Mu looked up, his pupils constricting to a slit in alarm.
