C21 Trouble will be Settled!!
"You should get out of here quickly. This person is not someone you can handle... I... I don't want to cause you any trouble."
Xu Rui fought to keep her composure as she urgently spoke to Yu Haoran.
She recognized that Yu Haoran was a decent man and didn't want to drag him into her problems.
Before Yu Haoran could respond, Lee Jingtian had already scrambled to his feet, a malicious grin playing at the corners of his mouth.
"Let me tell you, there's no woman I, Lee Jingtian, can't have!"
As he spoke, Lee Jingtian gestured towards Xu Rui and the unfazed Yu Haoran, then pulled out his phone.
Yu Haoran had no interest in wasting time with this lowlife, but he had a commitment to fulfill for Tuantuan.
"Hey, get over to Red Apple Kindergarten fast, and bring some backup!"
"Lee Jingtian! You're going too far!"
Xu Rui was visibly shaken with anger, but felt powerless. Was it her fault for being attractive? Was she destined to be nothing more than a plaything for some rich kid?
And now she was involving others who had nothing to do with this?
"Daddy..."
Tuantuan, though not fully understanding the situation, could sense Xu Rui's anger and despair. She felt a twinge of fear facing the unhinged Lee Jingtian.
"Don't be scared, Tuantuan. Remember, they're just ants, haha."
Yu Haoran gently stroked Tuantuan's head, his face radiating contentment.
Tuantuan, basking in her father's presence, grinned. She felt that with her dad by her side, she was utterly safe.
*Beep! Beep! Beep!*
Soon after, two jeeps pulled up just outside the crowd. About ten men climbed out, their tattoos and brawny physiques clearly indicating they were enforcers.
They were obviously bad news.
The ringleader surveyed the scene and made his way over to Lee Jingtian.
"Mr. Lee."
Upon noticing the red handprint on Lee Jingtian's face, he felt a shiver down his spine. Who had the nerve to do this? They must have a death wish!
"Cripple him! Break his right hand!"
"Yes, sir!"
Upon receiving Lee Jingtian's command, his henchmen didn't hesitate for a second. They swarmed in, completely disregarding the fact that the man before them was holding a child.
Clearly, they were the type to show no mercy.
"Xu Rui, could you hold Tuantuan for me?"
Yu Haoran offered a faint smile, as if the thugs before him posed no threat. He strolled over to Xu Rui and, despite her look of astonishment, gently placed Tuantuan into her arms.
"Tuantuan, wait here for Daddy. You'll see me take care of these pests in just a moment."
With that, his smile vanished. Surrounded by the encroaching crowd, Yu Haoran didn't hesitate to strike first.
What use was a gentleman's agreement in this situation? Did these vermin really think they deserved the God-King's deference?
Bystanders quickly backed away, eager to avoid getting caught in the fray.
Most disapproved of Lee Jingtian's tactics, yet no one dared to voice their dissent.
"Damn, the kid's got style, staying so composed in a situation like this."
"That mouth of yours isn't doing you any favors. Might as well shut it for good."
The burly men paused their assault, amused by Yu Haoran's audacity, and held back from striking immediately.
They watched with grins, anticipating his next move.
"What the hell are you waiting for? Get him now!"
But Lee Jingtian was losing his patience. He exploded in a tirade of curses, his fury directed not only at Yu Haoran but also at his own men.
The lead enforcer, a hulking figure clad in black, scowled at being so openly insulted.
Who else would dare speak to him in such a manner?
"Brothers, take him down!"
He issued the command, knowing that clashing with Lee Jingtian over pride wouldn't pay the bills.
"Hah..."
"Ah..."
"Bang, bang, bang..."
A flurry of punches sent the attackers reeling, their bodies colliding with the ground. They writhed and moaned, curled up in pain.
"Ouch..."
"My stomach..."
...
No matter how tough they were, they were only human after all.
This time, Yu Haoran wasn't about to let them off the hook. He made sure each one of them would need at least a month's hospital stay to recover from their injuries.
It was his way of giving them time to reflect and to keep them from causing trouble for the innocent.
Having dealt with the situation, Yu Haoran turned and walked toward Xu Rui.
"Clap, clap, clap."
"Yay! Daddy's amazing! Daddy's the strongest! Hehe."
"That's right! Ants can't show off in front of Daddy."
"Right, ants, ants, all of you ants. Bang, bang, clap, clap."
Tuantuan's little hands mimicked the action, glancing at the thugs sprawled on the ground.
Before reaching Xu Rui, Tuantuan was clapping her hands joyfully, her face alight with excitement as she looked at Yu Haoran and reached out her arms to him.
Upon seeing Tuantuan's eager face, a smile instantly graced Yu Haoran's features.
He quickly scooped up the delighted Tuantuan, planting a gentle kiss on her cheek.
He was careful not to be too forceful, not wanting to hurt her. This tender moment sparked a wave of envy among the onlookers.
It was like a scene from a story where the hero defeats the villain and is joyfully reunited with his little princess. To those around, Yu Haoran was that hero.
Meanwhile, Lee Jingtian stood frozen in place, utterly baffled.
What in the world just happened?
Can someone explain to me?
How did this so-called nobody take down dozens of thugs in such a short time?
"..."
Lee Jingtian was filled with confusion.
But once he regained his composure, he shot a resentful look at Yu Haoran and turned to leave.
"Hold on, if you dare to come at me again, I won't care if you're her brother... Remember, don't tempt fate."
Lee Jingtian shuddered, clenched his teeth, and hastily made his exit.
"Mr. Yu! Wait, thank you for your help. May I invite you to dinner? Oh, and Tuantuan too."
Xu Rui beamed as she saw Yu Haoran about to leave with Tuantuan in his arms. She quickly caught up with a smile.
Noticing Yu Haoran's hesitation, Xu Rui quickly added,
"We could also talk about Tuantuan's schooling, hehe."
"Go on, Dad. Xu Rui is really good to Tuantuan, hehe."
Despite her youth, Xu Rui possessed a remarkable talent for discerning people's thoughts. She instantly recognized the special place Tuantuan held in Yu Haoran's heart.
"Okay... Alright then, I'll take Tuantuan back first. Let's set up a meeting place."
Xu Rui nodded with enthusiasm, but as she turned around, her expression quickly shifted to one of anger.
Yu Haoran traced her gaze to a bicycle whose wheel was nearly detached.
"Is your bike broken?"
"Yes... Lee Jingtian sabotaged it. He's trying to get me to ride his bike..."
Xu Rui nodded with a hint of embarrassment, her cheeks flushing with a touch of red.
