C7 Create a Tourist Attraction

"Everett, don't overthink things. Life doesn't have hurdles that can't be overcome. Don't worry about money. Add me on WeChat, and you can use this thirty thousand for now. Plus, I'm personally donating another ten thousand to you. Add me on WeChat. My WeChat ID is: Lixue0**."

Initially, Everett was reluctant, but to fulfill his mission, he had no choice. He opened WeChat and added the campus beauty, Marian. Once they became friends, he saw her profile picture: her long, curly hair flowing, an oval face, big bright eyes, and a captivating smile. She truly was the dream girl of every male student at their university.

Ding dong!

The cute Bunny Marian: Everett?

The farming enthusiast Everett: Yes, it's me.

Ding dong!

A WeChat transfer of thirty thousand had been received.

Everett was moved as he looked at the thirty thousand. He hadn't wanted to accept the money, but he was in dire need of it now.

The cute Bunny Marian: Here's my ten thousand. Hold on to it, and don't give up on life, Everett!

Ding dong!

A WeChat transfer of ten thousand had been received.

Everett felt an inexplicable surge of emotion at Marian's gesture.

The farming enthusiast Everett: Class Rep Marian, thank you. I owe you this ten thousand and will repay it tenfold in the future. I've made it to Limesvilles and am about to enter the desert. It would be wonderful to see my classmates again. I really hope you could come to the desert to see me one last time, but I'm afraid that might be wishful thinking...

Marian didn't reply for a long time; after all, Everett and she weren't close...

Everett had seen Marian countless times – in the cafeteria, the library, the sports field, and the study hall. But she probably never noticed him; there were too many people like Everett, seeking a chance encounter.

The desert in early April was just as Everett's grandfather had described: clear skies, no hint of the ominous presence known as the Death Desert. Everett checked his phone, saw that Marian still hadn't replied, sighed, and closed WeChat.

Now, with forty thousand yuan, he could only afford 400 square meters of Bellhand Lawn sod, but he could buy 2,000 square meters of Bellhand seeds. Everett gazed toward the base of the mountain. It looked like he would have to start with planting seeds.

With this in mind, Everett took out his phone and began to plan for the two-thousand-square-meter lawn. He intended to plant a ring of giant desert pillar cacti around the base of the megadune, complementing the existing circle of cacti he had already planted around its perimeter. Beyond the hundred square meters of grass seedlings at the foot of the megadune, there was a smaller circle of desert pillar cacti. Everett decided to encircle this with a heart-shaped Bellhand Lawn, effectively creating a miniature desert scenic area.

Everett decided to name this attraction the Bellhand Scenic Area and proudly declared it a five-star tourist destination!

Without hesitation, Everett rolled down the megadune, phone in hand, landing beside a desert pillar. He began planting the lawn around it, utilizing a continuous planting mode to achieve the desired heart shape, investing two thousand dollars in the process.

The convenience of the One-Click Botany feature was undeniable. With a simple tap, Everett had sown two thousand square meters of Bellhand seeds. Afterward, he sat atop a dune, patiently waiting for the grass to sprout.

As time ticked by, Everett found himself watching the sunset from the dune in the evening. The crimson sun hung low in the sky, with fiery clouds igniting above. In the tranquil expanse of the desert, these clouds morphed into shapes of galloping horses, fierce lions, and even little lambs and rabbits.

Thoughts of Marian crossed his mind – her beauty was undeniable. How wonderful it would be if she were sitting beside him, sharing in the sunset.

Everett captured the fiery sky with his phone's camera and shared the image with his friends.

Anyone opening Everett's social feed would find a poignant reflection: "The sunset is endlessly beautiful, even at dusk."

The image accompanying the post would reveal a vast expanse of dunes, with a radiant sun nestled within a massive fiery cloud shaped like a rabbit, its fur aglow in golden hues, and a towering desert pillar cactus straight out of a fairy tale in the foreground.

Within seconds of posting, Everett received a like. His social circle was small, mostly inactive accounts, but upon checking, he saw that it was the endearing Marian who had shown her appreciation. She commented, "Yes, one must always be confident in life!"

Everett gazed up at the sky, perplexed. Wasn't there anyone who wanted to invite the school's belle out for an evening meal? Why did she suddenly have so much free time on her hands?

*Ding dong!*

A notification from WeChat interrupted his thoughts. It was another message from Marian, this time a voice note. Everett played it, her voice sweet to his ears, endearing her to him even more.

"Everett, where did you get that picture in your Moments? Do you have a high-resolution version? I'd love to use it as my iPad wallpaper. Could you send it to me?"

Everett looked up once more at the sunset. The fiery clouds had morphed into the shape of a zither-playing fairy. He was astonished. Could the clouds be reflecting his mood?

Without much thought, Everett snapped a photo and reviewed it. The desert, bathed in the sunset's afterglow, was draped in a veil of mystery. The sun was low in the western sky, but the image of the zither player was strikingly clear.

He sent the photo to Marian.

Shortly after, Marian's voice came through another message.

The cute Bunny Marian: "Everett, where did you download this photo from? Do you have more?"

With a chuckle, Everett replied, "I didn't download it; I just took it myself."

After sending a voice response, Everett's phone chimed again with Marian's reply.

The cute Bunny Marian: "Wow, I never realized your voice was so magnetic. By the way, could you start a video call so I can see your surroundings? Everyone's saying you're exaggerating!"

"Exaggerating? My name is Everett. My family perished fighting the desert. As a descendant of heroes, do you think I would lie?"

With that, Everett confidently started the video call.

He lifted his phone high, capturing the vast expanse of the desert. Despite the evening hour, the desert's sky was pure, as if washed clean, and the fiery clouds that filled the sky were a magnificent sight.

"Wow! It's true! It's absolutely gorgeous!"

"Indeed! The sky is so clear! You can't find skies this clear all year round in Hartlepool!"

"Forget Hartlepool, with the desert encroaching, you can't find skies this pristine anywhere in Shaoland!"

In a moment, Everett's phone was inundated with reactions!

"The fiery clouds are truly breathtaking! They remind me of a passage from a textbook I studied as a child!"

"Hey, hey, Everett, come on out and let us see you!"
