C11 A Fake Love Rival

Despite being mocked by his relatives, Ye Feng's elder sisters quickly came to his defense.

"Do you have any proof that he's your biological son?" they challenged.

"And on the other hand, can you provide any evidence that he isn't? Without proof, you have no right to slander him."

Ye Feng's five elder sisters might have appeared fragile, but they were anything but polite when they spoke up.

"If you insist on claiming that Ye Feng isn't part of this family, then step forward. We will not allow anyone to insult our brother."

"And if you have something to say, say it to his face. Don't talk behind his back."

"Be upfront. Don't play righteous in one breath and duplicitous in the next. People might start thinking you enjoy putting on a show."

"If you truly believe he's not your biological son, then present your evidence. Baseless accusations are unacceptable."

"And what proof do you have that he is your biological son? Have you conducted a paternity test?" piped up another provocative relative.

"Regarding the paternity test, should we broadcast the results for all to hear after taking it?"

"I see right through your intentions, but since they're not fit for public display, spare us the pretense of moral superiority."

Ye Feng's sisters were unapologetically blunt, and as their tone grew more forceful, the other relatives realized the conversation could not go on.

They might have wanted to add more, but it was clear that these five sisters were not to be trifled with.

Touched by his sisters' support, Ye Feng gently tugged at his eldest sister's sleeve, signaling her to let the matter rest.

"Don't worry, Feng. Nothing will harm you today. This celebration is in your honor, and their disrespectful words show they don't value us," his sister reassured him.

"But elder sister, could your outspokenness have repercussions for you? I wouldn't want my arrival to cause any issues for you."

Ye Yimei felt a wave of emotion for Ye Feng's thoughtful concern and sensitivity. She couldn't help but wonder what he had endured over the years.

"There will be no repercussions. Rest assured, the five of us sisters are financially independent. Let the relatives say what they will; it has no bearing on us. But today, on your first meeting with them, they can't be allowed to speak ill of you."

Ye Yimei spoke the truth. Ye Feng, the Ye family's own flesh and blood, had never before been presented to the other relatives. If they were left to speak freely now, it could cast a shadow over Ye Feng's future.

Ye Feng's five older sisters were not just looking out for him; they were upholding the reputation of the Ye family.

Seeing no advantage to be gained, the meddling relatives wisely held their tongues.

In truth, these relatives were all talk, aware that Ye Feng was indeed the biological child. The Ye family's parents weren't foolish enough to raise someone else's child as their own.

Yet, the Ye family had lacked an heir until now, and the sudden emergence of one was bound to stir envy.

Especially since, in the absence of an heir, the Ye family's wealth might have been within their grasp. But with Ye Feng's arrival, their hopes of inheritance were dashed.

Ye's mother returned from her business dealings at this juncture.

She proceeded to introduce Ye Feng to everyone, one by one.

Ye's mother's brief departure was a test to gauge Ye Feng's capabilities.

But then she pondered how her son, after years of living abroad and encountering different experiences, could possibly have the skills to navigate the current situation.

"This is my son, Ye Feng. Having him is the greatest blessing of my life. He's very understanding. We've missed out on much over the years, but now that he's back, the past will not repeat itself."

The others offered their congratulations to Ye's mother, despite being in the dark about the specifics. Their ignorance didn't prevent them from making grand gestures of goodwill.

Ye's mother, a figure of great esteem within the Ye family, knew that winning her favor was never amiss.

So, she began introducing Ye Feng to the various business associates, aiming to familiarize him with the partners.

While Ye's mother wasn't fully versed in Ye Feng's abilities, she intended for him to take over the family business. This was merely the initial step.

She had also witnessed how his five sisters had encircled him protectively.

Knowing that his sisters had stepped forward now, she was reassured that if the Ye family faced any future crises beyond Ye Feng's handling, his sisters would likely be there to support him again.

Ye's mother harbored no intentions of exploiting her five older daughters; rather, she was heartened to see how swiftly Ye Feng had forged such a strong bond with his sisters.

As Ye Feng met each of his business partners, he realized just how dull and monotonous his previous life had been.

Ye Feng understood that he was destined to take his place in the Ye family. Despite still being a student, he was confident that with hard work and talent, he could achieve anything he set his mind to.

Among the Ye family members was also Wei Zecheng, who harbored a longstanding admiration for Yimei, the eldest Ye sister.

Yet, Yimei had never given Zecheng the time of day, and he had never cared for someone like Zecheng.

Watching Ye Feng bask in the center of attention, like a star surrounded by the moon, Zecheng felt a deep sense of discontent.

His unease wasn't rooted in Ye Feng's popularity; it stemmed from the fact that Yimei had a special fondness for her brother.

Zecheng had long been smitten with Yimei, but his attempts at courtship had always fallen flat.

He had assumed that Yimei's lack of male companionship was simply due to a lack of interest. However, with Ye Feng's arrival, Zecheng's assumptions were challenged.

Initially, Zecheng believed that Yimei wouldn't take to Feng either, but seeing how she defended him, it was clear how dearly she cherished her brother.

While Zecheng was aware that their relationship was fraternal and unlikely to develop into anything more, he also knew that they weren't blood-related; Yimei had been adopted into the Ye family.
