C17 Again

"Ah?"

"I have quite a few friends I'd like to introduce you to."

"Oh, sure."

Ye Feng wasn't entirely sure why Ye Zhuqiu wanted to introduce him to her friends, but he was aware that making new acquaintances couldn't hurt.

Ye Zhuqiu took Ye Feng to meet her friends and introduced him.

"This is the brother I've been telling you all about."

"Wow, he's really handsome! Your brother's quite a looker."

One of the girls remarked with a hint of envy, prompting nods and agreements from the others.

Thanks to various forms of 'training,' Ye Feng had become quite attractive in the eyes of others.

And so, Ye Feng spent half the evening hanging out with Ye Zhuqiu's friends.

Susan, always the diligent assistant, frequently consulted Ye Yimei on work-related matters.

But this visit wasn't solely about work.

"Director Ye, there have been some new developments in our collaborations. Please review them when you can."

"Mhm."

Ye Yimei set the documents aside after receiving them.

"Is there something else?"

Susan nodded, "Director Ye, there have been some suspicious individuals spotted near the company recently."

"Suspicious individuals?"

"Yes... Wei Zecheng from the Wei family."

"Understood, I'll call for you if I need anything else."

After getting the response, Susan left. Wei Zecheng had been seen lurking near the company because Ye Feng had started his new job.

Wei Zecheng had intended to confront Ye Feng, but since Ye Feng seldom left the office, he had not succeeded.

Susan had uncovered this and felt it was important to report to Ye Yimei. Even though Ye's father was currently managing the Ye family, Ye Yimei still dealt with certain issues.

Moreover, Susan could see that Wei Zecheng's intentions targeted not only Ye Feng but also Ye Yimei. She was well aware of their past interactions.

She had approached Ye Yimei with this information, hoping to ensure that Ye Yimei would be prepared and not caught off guard by Wei Zecheng.

However, no sooner had Susan returned to her desk than she overheard other employees discussing the situation.

"Have you heard? The Wei family's young master is back, right in the reception room."

"Back again? What's he after this time? Didn't his marriage proposal flop last time?"

"He's probably still set on winning over our Director Ye. I mean, Director Ye is not only good-looking but also has such a commanding presence. It's that very assertiveness that makes him stand out from the crowd."

The chatter was all among the employees, and it wasn't about Ye Yimei—they were discussing the latest visit from the Wei family's young master.

Lately, the young master seemed to be making frequent appearances here. Susan was aware of this, but what she didn't realize was that Wei Zecheng had come by once again.

Susan understood the gravity of the situation; if she didn't inform Ye Yimei soon, they were headed for even bigger trouble.

Once Wei Zecheng arrived, she noticed all the employees were steering clear of the reception room.

To the Ye family, the Wei family's young master was akin to a harbinger of doom. With Wei Zecheng occupying the reception room, everyone else was avoiding the area like the plague—getting close was out of the question.

Consequently, the vicinity of the reception room had turned into a no-man's land.

"Director Ye, the Wei family's young master has returned, and he's currently in the reception room," Susan reported.

Ye Yimei mulled over this for a moment, first addressing the documents Susan had brought before turning to the issue of the young master's visit.

"How long has Wei Zecheng been in the reception room?" she inquired.

"He's been there for a bit, but he hadn't arrived yet when I came with the documents," Susan replied.

"Have security escort him out," Ye Yimei instructed.

"...Understood."

Susan was tempted to add more, but she knew better than to overstep during such a delicate time.

"You two," Susan directed after exiting the office, signaling to a pair of security guards, "please go to the reception room and ask the young master of the Wei family to leave."

The guards were typically hesitant to confront someone of his stature, but since Ye Feng had previously managed to send Wei Zecheng packing, they felt emboldened.

Still, they weren't about to forcefully eject him.

"Young Master Wei, Director Ye is unavailable at the moment. If you could please..." one guard began tentatively.

"Unavailable? Last time I was thrown out before I could settle things, and now you're trying to get rid of me again!" Wei Zecheng retorted indignantly.

"Young Master Wei, it's not a brush-off. Director Ye genuinely can't meet right now," the guard insisted.

"Hmph, so you say she's busy, huh? Fine! I'll just go find her myself!" Wei Zecheng declared, undeterred.

"Young Master Wei?" the guard called out, attempting to intervene.

But Wei Zecheng's forceful approach was too much, and the guard, wary of overstepping bounds with the Wei family's heir, didn't dare to apply force. After all, causing harm to someone of his status would spell disaster for them.

In a moment of distraction, Wei Zecheng made his way to Ye Yimei's office.

"Director Ye, my apologies. I truly couldn't stop him..."

"It's alright, Young Master Wei. What brings you to my office?"

Ye Yimei chose not to dismiss the security guard. She was concerned that Wei Zecheng might cause trouble, and his presence meant Wei Zecheng would likely be more cautious.

"Why didn't you come to meet me? I waited for you in the reception room for ages. What, has your brother returned? Do you think you have a protector now? Let me tell you, his return won't change a thing."

"Whether my brother can change things is not my main concern. But I am genuinely busy at the moment, so I must ask you, the Wei family heir, to please leave for now."

"Ye Yimei, I'm extending you a courtesy by coming here. It would be wise for you to recognize that and not force me to lose my patience, which could lead to actions detrimental to the Ye family."

"Young Master Wei, as I've said, I'm not trying to give you the runaround; I'm simply swamped with work. I really don't have the time to engage in conversation right now."

"I'm not here for idle chatter. I'm asking why you didn't come to the reception room to meet me. As a business partner, it's only proper that you should have."

"I would have met with you, but you arrived without scheduling an appointment with my secretary or assistant. Therefore, I have every reason not to meet with you."

"The reasons don't matter to me. The fact is, you didn't come to meet me, and you even had someone try to send me away?"

"Young Master Wei, please don't misinterpret my intentions. I simply don't have the time, which is why I had security ask you to leave. It wouldn't be right to delay you further."

"Delay me? Concerned about wasting my time? Shouldn't you have met with me first? Or are you avoiding me by busying yourself with trivial work?"

"Young Master Wei, I've explained myself. Don't take it the wrong way. I instructed security to request your departure, not to expel you."

"You didn't throw me out? Weren't you the one who threw me out before?"
