C3 Ability Experience

The girls clad in black combat gear effortlessly evaded the cross-shaped slash. The aloof girl gently touched down on the ground, but just then, a white-haired warrior girl materialized before her, her expression twisted with what seemed like a deep-seated hatred. Clutching a lengthy black laser gun, she took aim at the aloof girl. Yet, with a casual flick of her hand, the aloof girl nonchalantly deflected the laser.

Their clash left Lin Mu and Itsuka Shido utterly agape at the sidelines. It was then that Lin Mu's ears picked up the familiar mechanical drone of the system once more.

"Attention, Dimension Apostle 10086!"

A pale blue holographic interface sprang forth before him.

Favorability towards Apostle 10086: 10/100

Favorability towards Itsuka Shido: 11/100

Lin Mu blinked in surprise, his gaze lifting to the purple-haired girl locked in combat with the mechanical-armored girl above. "Could she be... an elf?"

His jaw dropped. Was he really expected to date a girl with such staggering power, one who could cleave the earth with a single sword strike and effortlessly dispatch him?

"Ding! As Apostle 10086 is newly arrived in this alternate world and unaware of his apostolic privileges, the system will provide exclusive guidance."

A beep resonated within Lin Mu's mind. The system interface shifted subtly, transforming into something akin to the online game shops he'd frequented. But the items on display were beyond his wildest dreams, leaving him utterly speechless.

Moreover, there was an array of abilities—some familiar to Lin Mu, some utterly foreign—all of them undoubtedly extraordinary powers that defied the laws of nature.

Lin Mu's throat went dry as he swallowed hard, his mind reeling with awe. "Are you telling me... all these abilities... can be bought?!"

"Ding! It must be noted that upon purchase, all abilities start with an Actualization Quotient of 0 and must be developed by the Apostle. Using these abilities will deplete Devil Energy. Apostles are advised to proceed according to their capabilities."

As Lin Mu pondered how he would acquire the Sharingan bloodline and pilot a Gundam to overpower all in his path, the system's voice abruptly doused his fiery ambitions with a cold reality check.

"...Does this mean that even if I purchase the Sharingan bloodline, I'll only get a standard three-tomoe Sharingan?!" Lin Mu inwardly exclaimed in astonishment.

"Ding! You have misunderstood. As Dimension Apostle 10086, upon purchasing the Sharingan bloodline, you will inherit the Uchiha clan's potential to awaken the Sharingan. Whether you actually activate it depends on your own capabilities."

Lin Mu: "..." Damn it! Forget piloting a Gundam, I might not even be able to awaken a basic single-tomoe Sharingan!?

"Ding! Based on Dimension Apostle 10086's current condition, acquiring the Sharingan bloodline will address the vision issues caused by albinism."

At these words, a shiver ran through Lin Mu's gaze.

...

In the brief moment Lin Mu was lost in thought, Itsuka Shido had recognized the white-haired girl locked in combat with the aloof purple-haired girl.

"Tobiichi... Origami?" As the white-haired girl landed next to Lin Mu and Itsuka Shido, he uttered her name in surprise.

Tobiichi Origami turned to Itsuka Shido and the dazed Lin Mu with a slight start. "Itsuka... Shido, and Lin Mu?"

Hearing his name, Lin Mu looked up to see a white-haired girl he didn't recognize—no, that wasn't quite right. He had caught a glimpse of this striking white-haired beauty in the classroom before.

"What's with your outfit?" Itsuka Shido inquired, his face etched with confusion. Lin Mu shared the curiosity.

Just as Tobiichi Origami was about to respond, the purple-haired girl in midair unleashed another violet sword strike.

Tobiichi Origami clenched her teeth, leaping away from the assault, and the two resumed their fierce battle.

Lin Mu's eyebrows knitted together as he watched the escalating fight. His eyes then darted to the flurry of abilities on the interface before him, finally resting on the phrase "Vision Problem Solved." With resolve, he bit down hard and clicked the purchase button behind the fan-shaped icon labeled Sharingan on the interface.

A searing pain suddenly engulfed Lin Mu's brain, as if a sledgehammer had struck him. With a scream, he blacked out, eyes rolling back.

"Mu! What's happening to you!!" Itsuka Shido's voice, laced with panic, echoed in his ears before darkness consumed Lin Mu's consciousness.

Meanwhile, the battle above reached its climax. The clash of weapons unleashed blinding light and a shockwave of energy that enveloped the area. Itsuka Shido, shielding Lin Mu with his body, was also rendered unconscious by the blast. "Coordinates: Fj1820, target: Princess. Reaction wave below 6000, target disappearance confirmed," a voice announced in Itsuka Shido's ear, followed by an eerie, genderless whisper.

"I've finally found you. Just wait a little longer, and we'll never be apart again..."

Struggling to open his eyes, Itsuka Shido let out a loud gasp and sat up abruptly.

Before him was a weary-looking woman, her dark circles hinting at possible liver issues...

"Ah, you're awake," came a languid voice, as tired as the face it belonged to.

"You... Who are you?"

"I'm the analyst here, Reine. Don't worry, I may not be licensed, but I'm capable of basic caregiving," Reine said wearily.

Itsuka Shido could only respond with silence, far from reassured.

"Where am I?"

"You're in the medical room of Flaxis. You passed out, so I brought you here."

"Flaxis... I passed out?" Itsuka Shido was disoriented, memories slowly returning. "Right, I got caught up in the battle... Hold on!! Mu! What about the other person? The boy who was with me! And my sister, Itsuka! I've been searching for her. Where are they now?!"

"Take a moment to calm down," Reine urged, noting Itsuka Shido's frantic demeanor.

"They're all safe. Your friend's condition is quite unusual; his brain seems to have sustained serious damage, but he should recover swiftly in the adjacent repair pod. As for your sister, I'm not the best at explaining. For details, you should speak with the commander."

Itsuka Shido breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing they were unharmed. He turned his attention to a mechanical door beside him, behind which he could make out the silhouette of a mechanical chamber with a glass door at its center. Submerged in the green liquid within, a faint human outline was visible.

Rising to his feet, Itsuka Shido moved closer for a better look. As he suspected, a white-haired youth lay naked in the liquid, eyes shut tight. The youth's pale skin, reminiscent of a young girl's, bore numerous burn marks. However, thanks to the healing properties of the green liquid, the burns were gradually fading.

"For some reason, when I found him, his body temperature was extremely high, and he had sustained several burns. But he should be waking up before long," Reine's voice reached Itsuka Shido's ears.

Relieved once more, Itsuka Shido asked, "And my sister...?"

"Follow me," came the reply.

...

Amidst the darkness of his consciousness, he thought, "My head is burning up... it's so hot... so uncomfortable. Is this the cost of gaining a power? It's nothing like what the novels describe..."
