C11 A Man Had to Protect Himself Well!!

Yu Ke'er was not pleased and muttered, "Mister, you're a man, and I'm a girl. Why are you acting like I'm some kind of threat?"

Qin Mo chuckled, "Hey, men need to look out for themselves too!"

Ke'er was at a loss for words. This guy was just too much!

She grumbled again, "What could I possibly want from you? Your age? Your lack of hygiene? Or maybe your welfare checks?"

Qin Mo pretended not to hear her complaints and headed to the security booth, dragging his equipment along. He placed everything inside and greeted the security guard, even pulling out a pack of cigarettes to offer him one.

Ke'er watched him with a mix of frustration and admiration. He clearly knew how to get along with people, showing he had some social savvy. So why was he so clueless with her? Was he one of those guys who just didn't get it?

After finishing up, Qin Mo turned back to her. "Let's go, I'll treat you to dinner," he said casually.

He pretended not to notice the bodyguards glancing their way from a distance. Of course, the daughter of Century Entertainment's chairman wouldn't be out without protection.

Qin Mo planned to clear things up over dinner. It wasn't that he didn't like this lively and kind-hearted girl, but the age and family background differences were just too significant for them to be a good match.

Yu Ke'er felt a bit wronged.

"Hey, I just helped you with your presentation and brought over twenty thousand viewers to your live stream. Even if it wasn't perfect, it was still a lot of work, right? Can't we get to know each other a little better?"

For the first time in her life, she was being this forward with a guy!

Qin Mo glanced at her legs beneath her skirt—straight, slender, and so pale they almost glowed. Any man would find his heart skipping a beat.

He looked away and said calmly, "I'm just driving you back because I don't want you catching a cold. Next time, don't wear so little; getting arthritis would be a real hassle. My grandma's old knee problems started because she didn't dress warmly when she was young."

Yu Ke'er's eyes widened in disbelief. Did she hear him right? Her legs were voted the most beautiful "comic book legs" in school, and every guy passing by would take a second look. And this guy was talking about keeping warm?

I want to talk about romance, and you're talking about knee problems?

Yu Ke'er finally understood—this guy was as dense as they come! Nothing gets through to him!

She let out a small "hmph" through her nose. "You're so boring. No wonder you're almost thirty and still single despite being so handsome! Cupid could shoot a thousand arrows, and you'd break every single one!"

Qin Mo found her pouty expression amusing.

He replied calmly, "Yep, that's me—an old soul, boring and broke, just starting my career. So you should head home; we're not meant to be friends!"

Ke'er felt instantly disheartened.

Oh well, what could she do? She was completely smitten with Qin Mo. She admired his extraordinary creative talent, his ruggedly handsome looks, and his cool, aloof demeanor. It was maddening!

With a sigh, Ke'er said, "Alright, I get it. I'm starving. Can we eat first?" Her cheeks flushed as she glanced nervously at Qin Mo.

Qin Mo looked off into the distance. "I'll take you to a noodle shop I used to frequent. I usually eat there. If you don't mind, come along!"

He hailed a cab from the street.

"I don't mind at all! I can eat anywhere!" Ke'er eagerly followed, hopping into the back seat.

She continued to chat, trying to sell herself. "I love sweets, but I'm not picky. I eat healthy and I'm easy to please! My parents were strict with me growing up, so I don't have any spoiled habits..."

They arrived at the commercial street below the old apartment complex.

Qin Mo paid the fare and stepped out of the cab, with Ke'er quickly jumping out after him.

As Qin Mo walked ahead, Ke'er's chatter about herself filled the air. He knew she was trying to get closer to him, desperately hoping to make an impression.

However, the age gap was too wide, and Qin Mo really didn't have much in common with her. He didn't want to play with her feelings or waste the young lady's time.

Yu Ke'er followed Qin Mo into the noodle shop. The place was small but reasonably clean, though it was clear Yu Ke'er wasn't used to such spots. Her shoes were from Miu Miu, costing over a thousand dollars a pair. Now, those delicate boots felt awkward on the greasy tile floor. Yet, Yu Ke'er said nothing and sat down confidently.

It was close to closing time, so the noodle shop was nearly empty, with only a few customers who were familiar with Qin Mo. Most of the patrons were middle-aged or older. Yu Ke'er was a Conboat sensation, well-known among the younger crowd, but not many over forty recognized her.

The shop owner, seeing Qin Mo with such a beautiful young woman, couldn't help but comment. "Wow, Qin, is this your girlfriend? She's stunning!"

A few regulars who often ate there and knew Qin Mo joined in the teasing. "Just the other day, my wife was saying we should set you up with someone. Turns out, you've already got a knockout, and we wasted our efforts!"

"Qin, you've got some game! I always thought you were single. Didn't expect your girlfriend to be so young and gorgeous, like a celebrity!"

Qin Mo thought to himself, isn't she a star? Ling Xuerou is also a celebrity, and it seems like ever since I ended up here, I can't escape being around actresses.

But Qin Mo sidestepped the topic and shot back at a few guys who were teasing him. "You guys are all over forty, and you still have the nerve to call me old Qin?"

The group burst into laughter. "Oh, look, old Qin's getting mad!" "Come on, guys, show some respect in front of his girlfriend!" "Alright, alright, young Qin, no hard feelings, right?"

Qin Mo bantered with them for a bit. Throughout the exchange, Yu Ke'er sat quietly, not saying a word. Her big, beautiful eyes watched Qin Mo gently and obediently.

Both the boss and the customers couldn't help but steal glances at Yu Ke'er. She was stunning! With her delicate features, adorable doll-like face, and flawless skin, she looked like a superstar straight out of a poster. It's rare to see someone this gorgeous in real life!

The steaming hot braised beef was served. Qin Mo considerately handed Yu Ke'er a pair of chopsticks. Without a word, she took them and started eating. The girl was really going for it! Actresses usually avoid soups and noodles, worried about gaining weight for the camera. Their appetites are tiny, and they're full after just a few bites.

Yu Ke'er came from a wealthy family, accustomed to gourmet dishes. She probably found the beef noodles at this small shop rather bland. Yet, she continued to eat with large, determined bites. Qin Mo guessed that this large bowl was probably more than she usually ate in three days. Watching her struggle, he gently took the chopsticks from her hand.

"Alright, you really don't have to force yourself!"

Ke'er swallowed a big piece of beef and insisted, "It's delicious! Give me back the chopsticks! If you can eat it, so can I. I could even eat another bowl if you order it!"

Qin Mo was taken aback. He hadn't expected her to be so determined. He wanted to point out that she wasn't used to this kind of simple life, but here she was, finishing a big bowl of beef noodles.

The other customers had already left, leaving just the two of them. The owner was getting ready to close up, cleaning the place. Qin Mo paid the bill and led Ke'er outside. Standing by the street, Qin Mo decided it was time to have a serious talk with her.
