In the inaugural year of the Star Pet Era, battle pet relics surfaced across Orithyia, prompting the wild beasts to mutate and develop new abilities. A single divine-level wild monster had the power to decimate a metropolis of over a million inhabitants.

Human territories had shrunk to the point where they could only erect massive base cities and arm themselves with firearms for defense.

Yet, as the levels of the wild monsters in the wilderness accelerated, humanity found itself increasingly outmatched.

From the relics that emerged worldwide, humans discovered unhatched pet eggs. Upon hatching these battle pets and forming contracts with them, humans harnessed the pets' power, gradually regaining stability and holding off the wild monster onslaught.

These wild beasts, along with perilous pet relics that appeared without warning, became the sworn enemies of all people in this world.

Symas' parents were once professional Demon Hunters, registered with the Beast Tamer Association.

However, during a defense against a wild beast tide, the tide breached the base city, and they perished in the conflict.

Only Uncle Callahan, a close friend of his parents, remained to care for him from a young age.

"This time, Littlewell won't succumb so easily," Symas vowed, his fists clenched.

Three years passed.

Unexpectedly, beneath Littlewell, an SS-grade star pet relic was unearthed.

Gigantic abyssal pits opened up across the city, and twelve fearsome overlord-level monsters surged forth, wreaking havoc.

In Littlewell, only the president of the Beast Tamer Association and the City Lord possessed overlord-level battle pets.

Powerless to resist, they ultimately sacrificed themselves along with five overlord-level battle pets in a final stand.

The overlord-level creature was a thirty-meter-diameter floating eye, with numerous lengthy tentacles and a crimson inverted triangle at its core.

Uncle Callahan, who had looked after him for more than a decade, was slain by the Scarlet Triangle Overlord. The image of Uncle Callahan shielding him was etched into his memory.

Despite the elite beast tamers from the castellan's mansion having already scoured the area, they had turned up nothing.

The precise location of the relic's entrance in Littlewell still needed to be uncovered. Symas knew he couldn't afford to act recklessly, lest he draw the attention of the Dark Order. This organization, a group of human traitors controlled by vile demons within the Trintis Dukedom, sought power from wild demons at the expense of their humanity. Many had been transformed into powerful half-beastmen, specializing in the assassination of emerging geniuses and perceived threats within the four great duchies of Orithyia. And they had a presence in Littlewell too.

In his past life, the Dark Order had hunted down Idod after he had successfully summoned an elite battle pet during the summoning ceremony, leading to a severe injury for the opponent and the death of the young battle pet. Symas couldn't be certain if the Dark Order had infiltrated the castellan's mansion with spies.

Currently, his own strength was far too meager. Were he to blindly pursue the underground relic of Littlewell, he would inevitably become a target for those with ulterior motives. After all, the human heart can be the most fearsome adversary.

To safeguard Uncle Callahan and his sister Jaylee, who had consistently supported him in leveling up his pets, Symas was determined to significantly enhance his power within the next three years.
