Chapter One of the Survival Manual

When Lee Yuanhong opened the survival manual, he discovered several sections listed: Survival, Characters, Monsters, Weapons, Equipment, and Props.

Looking up at Yiling, Lee Yuanhong remarked, "Doesn't this feel like a guide for a game?"

With a cheerful tone, Yiling replied, "See how thoughtful I am? I've organized it to align with Earth's culture, making it easier for you to navigate."

Lee Yuanhong nodded with approval. "Hmm, not bad at all!"

He then proceeded to the Survival section, which resembled an e-book with its digital pages.

"Chapter One of the Survival Section:

To endure the apocalypse, your primary goal must be to stay alive. For survival, you need to be well-prepared with essentials such as food, weapons, and armor—these are the keys to your continued existence. Without a solid base of supplies, your chances of survival will plummet.

Next, in the initial phase of the crisis, it's crucial to secure a stable defensive position to shield against unnecessary dangers. Particularly at the onset of a viral outbreak, the sudden emergence of zombies can pose unpredictable threats. Hence, in the early stages, it's best to avoid crowds, fortify your defenses, and stockpile resources as much as possible."

As Lee Yuanhong turned the page, he was met with a blank space. What was this about? Puzzled, he glanced at Yiling for an explanation.

With a dismissive wave of her hand, Yiling said, "Enough, enough. Don't try to take on too much at once. Focus on the first step."

With a sense of resignation, Lee Yuanhong moved on to explore other sections, selecting Characters. To his surprise, he found his own profile listed there.

After reading his own profile, Lee Yuanhong was metaphorically covered in black lines of frustration, but he couldn't bring himself to lash out at Yiling. Instead, he simply gave her a couple of exaggerated eye rolls. Yiling, on the other hand, was trying to stifle her laughter.

Continuing to flip through the pages, he found more blank spaces and turned to Yiling once more.

"I've only had contact with you, so naturally, your record is the only one here. As I meet more people, the archive will expand. If you manage to get ahold of the Public Security Bureau's personnel files, I can import that data too. Pretty neat feature, huh?" Yiling explained, her smile beaming with pride.

It seemed that for now, this feature had reached its limits. It might prove to be incredibly useful in the future, but at the moment, it was just a series of metaphorical black lines...

He turned the page to the monster section.

"Level 0 Zombie

The Level 0 Zombie is a recent human mutate, infected by the Zombie Virus. Its attributes remain at pre-infection human levels, but muscle rigidity has significantly reduced its speed. However, its strength has greatly increased, and it doesn't tire while moving. When closing in on prey, its speed can suddenly match that of an average human.

Fatal Weakness: The head, which can spread the virus through biting. Sensitive to sound."

Defense: 2 Spirit Points: 0

The Level 1 Zombie, having formed a Crystal Core post-infection, has enhanced bodily control, restoring its speed to normal human levels. Combined with its tireless nature, it becomes a living nightmare for any human trying to escape. The further strengthening of its body means increased defense and strength, particularly its nails, which transform into deadly weapons. Beware the zombie's embrace—it's a death trap for the unwary. It is sensitive to both sound and the scent of blood."

As Lee Yuanhong continued to flip through the pages, he was met with nothing but blank space. Puzzled, he turned to Yiling with a questioning look. Yiling, growing impatient, explained, "The Earth has just entered the apocalypse. The diversity of the human race makes it impossible to predict what kind of monsters will emerge. Don't worry, the information will update automatically when we come across new creatures."

Lee Yuanhong's frustration only grew. He thumbed through the equipment section only to find it completely barren, save for a single entry.
